Dell Vostro motherboard broken?
I changed thermal paste of Dell Vostro V131, but unfortunately it doesnt turn on. All I can hear is a quiet click while pressing the power button. The leds dont light up and fans dont spin at all. Does this mean that the motherboard is broken?

Dell Wireless370 Bluetooth Mini-card, Ethernet connects but Bluetooth not working.
I have an Alienware M17X running Windows 7 with all updates current. The internal Bluetooth card will no longer pair with my mouse or any other device. When I have my cell phone scan for Bluetooth devices it finds the “Dell Wireless370 Bluetooth Mini-card” but the laptop “Add Device” doesn’t find the cell phone. I have updated the driver, replaced the Bluetooth card, made sure Bluetooth is enabled in the BIOS and tried a different mouse, but the laptop still can’t find the mouse. Neither the Control Panel nor Device Manager has a Bluetooth entry. Anything else I can try before I replace my Windows operating system?

XPS 13 (L322X) trackpad issues windows 10
The generic windows 10 driver works for left click anywhere and is ok-ish however there is no scrolling functionality. Installing the dell cyress software 2.5.1.65 significantly reduces the functionality of the trackpad to left and right clicks only in the absolute corners and none of the gestures such as two finger scrolling work.
Can anyone help me get a usable tracepad for windows 10?

Help me get hard drive to connect to Lattitude d800
I bought this Pentium laptop via an auction and put an EIDE hard drive that is a known good, formatted to FAT. I have set up the EPROM to boot first from USB and then the hard drive so I can install Linux.
For the life of me, I don't think it's seeing the hard drive. No hard drive noises and the installer does not see the hard drive. There's really only one way to install it in the caddy, and I've tightened the screw.
I do notice that if I do not use the screw and I turn the laptop over the caddy, and drive, easily slide out telling me that it's not made contact with the pins. Normally, I would expect resistance as I slide the caddy in the last 1/4 inch expecting it to encounter the pins. It does not.
I've pushing in a gem clip at the opposite end of the drive so as to ensure the drive is flush against the caddy's hole.
This should work, what am I doing wrong?, sam

DRIVER_POWER_STATE FAILURE Dell Inspiron 7000 laptop
Hi,
I have several Dell Inspiron 7000 series laptops that have recently started to produce BSD since being Clevertouch Plus interactive display units. Unusually not all of the Dell Inspiron laptops are producing The BSD since being connected to these external interactive display units. No drivers have been installed for these external display units. The Inspiron laptops boots up but after a random period of time the laptop screen goes blank (blank) and needs to be restarted before the laptop screen output is displayed again. No other software or drivers have been installed recently.
The laptops are running Windows 7 enterprise SP1 x64. Any advice welcome!

Dell inspiron 7520: after new hard drive installation, can't detect USB, PCI, Ethernet, Internet controllers

I have Dell Inspiron 7520 laptop.
I had to install a new hard drive, after the previous one crashed. After that I installed Win7 64bit.
Since I installed new hard drive, I can't connect to internet, via both Wi-Fi and cable.
Divice manager shows yellow signs for USB, PCI, Ethernet, Internet controllers.
I can't update the drivers. Installing network drivers for Inspiron 7520 didn't work out.
Please, help me.

I have a Dell Inspirion N5010 tag number G2669N1 bought second hand from a shop, I am typing this post on the laptop in question, I have the receipt,
I need to reset the BIOS password to change the boot sequence, the windows admin password has been forgotton, and UAC prevents access to do anything useful!,
could one of the mods generate the system password, I have put in for the transfer of ownership, but have to wait for a few days!
I don't want to have to take the HDD out of a nice laptop unless I really really have to

Dell inspiron 3537 laptop won't turn on !!!!!
Please help me i bought a dell inspiron 3537 ci5-4200u , 8192 DDR with serial key : 1CZVQZ1 and this was on 15/02/2014 that's why it is still on warranty ( ends in december 2015 ), my laptop worked fine for a nearly 10 months and one day it won't turn on ( the power button is on hence the screen is totally black). I took it to Dell Partner Direct Distributor in Tunisia ( IGL Distribution ) after sales service and they said that it is a motherboard problem , so they replaced it and sent it back to me. The laptop worked fine when i turned it on, but when i was trying turn it on once more the same problem appeared again. As a result i sent it back for the second time to the IGL Distribution and again with the same motherboard issue, so they replaced it . I took my laptop hoping that the problem is solved , however the same scenario is still repeating , so what can i do ??? I'm waiting for your early reply patiently.

Originally I got 4GB DDR3 RAM but while playing some games like Call of Duty Ghost etc, I got low memory error. These games needs at least 6GB DDR3 RAM configuration. I want to upgrade more RAM into my Laptop. I have checked in "Piriform Speccy" software & found there are two memory slots in my Laptop and one Slot is used however One slot is free. I think I can use one more RAM into free Slot. Please suggest me how can I upgrade more RAM.

Dell E6410 Full Battery, Laptop will not run on battery
Dell E6410 Full Battery, Laptop will not run on battery.
No battery indicatory light.
Tried FN + F2 to enable battery charge.
Meter indicates full charge.
Have removed and reinstalled battery, no joy.
Laptop runs when plugged in, pull the cord and laptop dies.
Used the laptop last week, worked fine, pulled it out of the case today and does not work on battery.
Lost, need help PLEASE.

XPS 13 (9343) 5GHz wi-fi issue?
Are any other owners using 802.11ac routers (or 802.11n @ 5GHz)? If so, what router are you using?
My signature edition XPS 13 causes my D-Link DIR-880L to crash when connecting to the 5GHz radio, however it's fine on the 2.4GHz radio.
Oddly, the issue appears to be related to the routers website filter list (i.e. block site), and I've contacted D-Link for a RMA. However, my phone has no issue connecting @ 5GHz.
I'd like to see whether anyone else is successfully using a 802.11ac router in case I need to find a replacement.

Studio 1558 BIOS
I bought my laptop used a couple months ago. I immediately set about upgrading the RAM from 4GB to 8GB and the hard drive from the original 320GB to a 2TB. I cloned the drive using BootIt Bare Metal on a CD, but when I went to install it on the drive it wouldn’t let me. I was, however, able to install it on a much smaller drive. I tested the 2TB drive thoroughly and there were no problems. I set the partition style to EMBR. The folks at Terabyte Unlimited concluded that there must be something in the BIOS that prevents writing to the first sector with such a large drive. I updated it to A12, but nothing changed. Looking at the BIOS there’s nothing related to that, much less anything that I could change, but I was perplexed by
“Set User Password:”
being greyed out and [Locked]. Could this have something to do with not being able to write to the first sector in my case? The
“Set Supervisor Password:”
is not greyed out and says [Enter]. Is this normal? Any ideas on why writing to the first sector with this drive won’t work? Any help is greatly appreciated.

CPU Issue
I've suddenly started to have me CPU running up to 90 to 100% after I've been working on my Dell Precision M6400 for a couple of hours. I close everything down and with nothing running it continues at the same level until I shut down.
The fans also run continuously during this period.
I have run the Dell Support Assist scans and nothing comes up as wrong. I have had a tech look at it and they don't know what's wrong.
I want to upgrade ram from 8GB to 32GB for my 3D design work but I'm not sure the computer is going to fail with a CPU issue. Can anyone offer suggestions or point me to help. I'm in Ballarat Australia.

I am having vostro 1510 for past four years. Now i want to increase its ram. I have 2 GB of Ram in it. Now i want it to increase for 6 GB or 8 GB. How would i know whether it will support that much or not?. In specifications they mentioned 4 GB. But it will not be sufficient for me, please tell me any tools to test the maximum ram capacity for my lappy.. A sincere request please tell me free tools. As i am unable to spend money on it.

Dell XPS 15 Solid State Drive Upgrade/mSATA Removal/Disable
Hey all,
I own a Dell XPS 15, mid-2012 model that I'm looking to upgrade by replacing the hard disc drive with a 256GB SSD and re-purpose it by installing Linux onto it (Ubuntu).
I've done hard drive upgrades before, but after looking into the specs it became clear that the hard drive settup would make this process different.
The hard drive currently installed on my laptop right now is a 750GB HDD with a 32GB mSATA that is in a RAID configuration that helps 'speed up' the system. If it was just a simple HDD this upgrade would be simple, but I'm a little confused about how to handle the mSATA.
My initial thought is that I just replace the HDD with the SDD and just completely remove the mSATA from my computer and when installing the new OS the partitions can be specified then. Am I correct to think that is the way to go about this? Would there have to be anything I need to do in Windows/BIOS before I do this?
I'm not even sure the mSATA is being used by my computer right now. I don't even have Intel Rapid Start Utility on my computer for over a year.
All advise will be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone! First i have to say that my english is not that good.
I have a 17R inspiron model and i wanna reinstall my windows 8 from the SSD drive and they ask me to insert the CD/DVD disk....i mention that i did the reinstallation in this way on my laptop 2 or 3 times already...but now i can't find the way how to do it.
