Permanent Battery Failure
Hi there,
I am experiencing similar problems as user in these threads:

Much like their situations, after receiving an error message about permanent battery failure, my computer will no longer remain on if its AC power adapter isn't plugged in.
When reading these other postings it seems many peoples situations are sovled by a BIOS update or assistance from a Dell technical assistant.
Would there be any way I could receive the help of someone knowledgeable in this kind of situation and if so, what further information could I provide to help?

Dell Inspiron 7520 AMD Radeon HD 7730M problem
For the last month I have been trying to solve this problem. the catalyst isn't working, stops all the time and none of the solutions in forum or anywhere else seems to resolve the problem. i tried to roll back drivers, ending in my pc not booting in normal mode, updating drivers without results. i am really disappointed of Dell since i got this pc which is actually a 'gaming pc' but cant even work properly with word. Please find a way to fix this problem asap. i am really considering of removing windows 8 and reinstalling windows 7 to see if that can support the catalyst.
ps. the catalyst control centre wont open and the catalyst crashes everytime i try to open it

M4500 not 'seeing' PR03X docking station
I bought a PR03X docking station for my M4500 laptop but the M4500 doesn't even seem to see it. I plugged the power supply into the PR03X but the M4500 isn't charging on it. If I press the power button it doesn't work in most cases but if I adjust the seating it does work. However no adjusting seems to get the M4500 to charge in the PR03X.

Precision M3800 does not wake after sleep
- After closing the LID, system will get to sleep mode and cannot wake
Steps taken: Updated BIOS, Updated Video Card driver, reinstalled ACPI Driver, ePSA Diagnostic test passed.
Power Management > Advanced > Power Button and Lid > Lid close action > Set to sleep
Power Management > Advanced > Sleep > Wake Timers > both battery and AC Adapter are disabled

Dell XPS L502x Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Drive not recognizing discs
I have a Dell XPS L502x laptop with Windows 7. A few months back my optical drive stopped reading/writing discs. My laptop was still under warranty so I got a new drive from Dell. Now, my new drive is not reading discs all of a sudden. I can't even run Dell diagnostics on it because when the diagnostic says "please insert data CD" and I insert a data cd, it keeps telling me to insert a disc and then the test comes back and says "no media" even though I inserted a data cd. I've tried updating the firmware and it says the firmware is already up to date. I've tried uninstalling the optical drive through device manager, shutting down and rebooting the system to have it reinstall. Still no dice. What am I missing? Is there anything to do besides throw the computer against a wall?! I'm very frustrated, especially since the drive is only like 3 months old, but now my system is out of warranty.

Accidentally uninstalled Dell Webcam Central from a Latitude e6500
I loaned my computer to my cousin and now there is no Icon for the webcam. I'm guessing she uninstalled it. Is there a way to redownload all the software?

E5500 not powering up
- hit power button, you can hear cd, power light is on for about 5 seconds & then it shuts down
- followed some of the troubleshooting from en.community.dell.com/.../19493745
- Pulled HD, memory, battery
- Tried different memory
- Tried different PSU
- (with battery pulled) Pressing letter ‘D’ key and powering on the system launch diagnostics on the Screen & it flashes through some colors. Once it finishes cycling through colors it appears the scroll lock indicator is lit
- Did the above a second time, now scroll lock indicator is lit & numlock is flashing
- 3rd time - scroll lock indicator is lit & numlock is flashing
- press and hold the Fn key on the keyboard and power on the system. This will run diagnostics on the hardware components and also the display - no diagnostics run, just shuts off after about 5 seconds.

My Dell Downloads won't register
I've read through the forums and see that others have had this issue in the past,. When I try to register my computer for my dell downloads, nothing happens. I was originally getting an error about the sysproexe.cab file being blocked, but after fiddling with the security settings and adding *.dell.com to the trusted sites, that error has gone. Now it briefly flashes "examining your system" and nothing happens. All my computers are dell or alienware, so for giggles, I tried registering each of them, with the same issue on each one. I have .net framework 4.5.1 installed on them. Have tried with and without the antivirus/firewall running with no luck. Anyone ever solve this issue?

Smell burning from Dell inspiron 15 3521
Hello all. Looks like a very helpful community here, so I thought I might drop in to ask for help, my Dell inspiron 15 3521 turned off after moving the monitor, and then i smell burning from it. i opened the pc i couldn't find anything looks like burned, i concluded that that odor come from Power connector. i turned it on again and he works fine. i tried to move the monitor then i had the same problem. did anyone have this ? what i have to do ? note that its out of warranty! thanks in advance

touchpad inspiron 7547
My touchpad have stop working and i have take all directive, scan via dell support web site, forum dell comunity, ... .... noting work and the driver dident exist in driver list for my system thats very glad! The minimum is to have all drivers you can needed! And i try before more than 3 houres to have a tecknical support via dell chat and nothing ... verry bad services!

PCMCIA Adapter - Generic Cardbus Controller in Device Manager
PCMCIA Adapter - Generic Cardbus Controller is in Device Manager and I want to know if there is anything other than Generic that I can download from Dell's website. My computer is a Latitude E6410. I have not seen anything related to this driver in Dell's Driver website. I looked under PCMCIA and Cardbus and found nothing. Does anyone know how to get a real name for this thing to show up in Device Manager besides "generic"??

The can't be correct! - NEW Inspiron 13-7347
Windows 8.1. I purchased this laptop yesterday (17 Feb 2015). Going through the usual set-up items no problems. I finally get to where I need to use the touchpad - NO SCROLLING. So, I'm thinking, no problem, I'll just go into the control panel and adjust the touchpad settings. Nope. There are NO TOUCH PAD SETTINGS.
So, I go to the Dell website to download the latest TouchPad driver - NOTHING listed there for my laptop.
This can't be correct.

5547 - Swapping out wireless card and adding indep video
Hello.
Is it possible to upgrade the current 3160 wireless card, is there something suitable that fits and is appreciably better?
Also, is it possible to add an upgraded video card with dedicated memory, etc, to replace the existing basic Intel 4400 chip?

No battery is detected problem
Delll Inspiron 15 3521 shows No battery detected and is not getting charged.
It has passed Microsoft APCI Complaint Control Method Battery Check available in Dell Support Center.
But in system BIOS setup battery information is not highlighted.
Note: The problem started after the battery is fully drained once. And system does not run without AC power.
Any solution/suggestion?

Dell XPS 14 Wireless not working
I recently plugged in my Dell XPS 14 using an Ethernet cable to download a large file. However, now I cannot see any wireless networks to connect to. My wireless is turned on. I can't use the wireless toggle button on F2 as it doesn't appear to work. When I try to turn off wireless under flight settings it turns off for a second and automatically turns back on.
The Killer Wireless-N 1202 network adapter shows no problems under device manager and is up to date.
Any way I can fix this? This really has been the worst laptop I've ever had.
