Alienware mx18 R2 Blue Screen while playing games.
As the thread title states I am getting a blue screen error when playing games, I get about 10 - 15 minutes of gameplay before the screen goes black and there is stuttering sound and then the machine restarts itself, I get the following message upon the system starting back up:

The laptops fan is also currently running at 100% rpm at all times even when it is not hot or working hard for some odd reason and every now and then it is resetting its date and time.
This is my third gaming machine from Dell, the first being an XPS that cost me $4'500 and blew up twice and needing replacement parts before finally kicking the bucket all together, the second was an Alienware mx17 which cost me about $5'600 and died twice before having to be replaced by this one, so this one which is a warranty replacement itself has already blown once about 6 months ago and only 12 months after I got it and needed parts replacements, so now it is about to die again, so I have foolishly burnt $10'000 into Dell and I don't think it is going to be a cent more, to much trouble and not enough gaming.

Can't find out how to disable TAP TO CLICK FUNCTION.
Hello all (mods, Dell staff and what have you)
I've used custom PCs all my life and build my own computers for intense gaming purposes but with the recent requirement to buy a laptop for BYOD, I bought one of your machines.
On my "New Dell XPS 13 2015 with touchscreen and borderless infinity display (8 gigs ram and Windows 8.1 pro)" so far, I've installed firefox and disabled the metro with a windows 7 startup lookalike. The one solitary issue I have doesn't concern the odd placement of the webcam or the tapered edge that needs to be opened with two hands but relates to the "tap to click" function. I've been browsing and setting this computer up to the way I like it but everything just comes to a halt whenever I even brush the touchpad. I've looked in mouse properties and such but all I see is "HID Compliant Mouse and PS/2 Compatibility Mouse". I have no clue on how to remove this feature without disabling the touchpad altogether (which isn't something I'm wanting to do). Could I have some assistance on this please?

Error Code: 2000-0145
My system is giving 6 beeps and when i run diagnostics it gave me an error code 2000-0145. Iam able to on my system and everything is working fine but its continuously giving 6 beeps. How can I solve this problem?

Cannot get wifi to work on 6430u + dw1601
I just modified my 6430u to install a dw1601 card to be able to use a d5000 docking station. The three cables (white black & blue) are well connected, and I tried with 2 differents dw1601 cards.
After about a thousand installations and trials/error, i got the wigig to work but i cannot get the wifi to work / install. the only way to get the d5000 working was to install the 1601 driver by hand, but even then its not changing anything for wifi.
No driver is working (tried with fresh installations win7 sp1 and win8.1), (tried P7P91, TKPT6, F2C1D,...). With the latests ones, i have the "he Device may not be present or could have been ejected/unplugged" message (basically a device not found, while I clearly can use wigig so its very weird).
Anyhow, i am really baffled as of why the wifi cannot be working, while the wigig connection can. Of course i am trying the wifi with the wigig d5000 off.
Any ideas? I have searched this forum a bit, with similar problems which could be resolved with old versions of the driver, but this is not working for me.

Bluetooth Headphones on Latitude E7440 - Interference
I have just installed a new pair of Bluetooth headphones, they work (which means they are binding) but there is massive interference and the music is skipping and cropping. Here is what I can tell so far:
1 - The version of BT on the laptop is version 4.0, the version of the headphones is 3.0.
2 - I have installed the latest BT drivers from the website
3 - I have completely disabled wireless on the laptop but I still get interference.
4 - It appears under devices and printers but NOT under Blue-tooth Devices (which I find strange)
Its driving me crazy. Does anyone have any idea what this can be?

Inspiron 15 3520 Need a restore disc.
I have an Inspiron 15 3520 with a recovery partition that is corrupt. I could have swore I made a copy of the Recovery Media but apparently I didn't. I am needing either a fix for the recovery partition or if that's not possible a copy of the restore discs. The laptop is no longer covered under a warranty from Dell. Any help would be appreciated.

My dell isn't doing well
Hello,
when I turn my inspiron 15r on it doesn't boot it just keeps beeping with nothing appears on the screen
I didn't find that in the beeping codes guide
then I force it to shut down and return it on it does the same thing
I keep doing that 2~10 times so it'll turn on normally
so what's the problem?

Inspiron N4010 wont start immediately after shutting it down,
Hi ,my laptop N4010 running Win 7 ultimate ,i3 2.27 GHZ,64bit 4GB RAM, ATI HD5470, recently became overheated regularly so I opened it up and cleaned the fan and all the vents,the processor and GPU are at normal temperature according to speccy but the problem is with hard disk which is SEAGATE 320GB 7200 rpm,which gets heated very quickly,
It starts at around 30-33 C and easily reaches 50-55C within 20 min with just normal browsing and listening music,it would cool to around 45-48 if i place a pedestal fan towards the laptop,I placed the laptop on a flat desk and placed the laptop on small plastic boxes of around 2 inch height along the four corners of laptop so there is no question of no air for the cpu fan,the fan is running at full speed.
If I shutdown the laptop and would want to immediately start it and press the power button,the led lights blink and it doesn't start up,if i wait for 10-15 min and then try then it starts normally,
I recently bought a new battery and the AC adapter is working fine,
I tried the method of pressing power button for 30s after removing battery and AC adapter but the problem remains,it will start only after 10-15 min,
Is this because the hard disk is too hot to start again or there is any problem related to motherboard.
I tried Dell PC checkup and tried stress test but it would shutdown by itself during the test.
I searched google for any solutions but no clear answer was there to my problem ,
I would welcome any suggestions that could solve my problem.

Alienware m17x r3 with GTX 580m low clock issues
Hi, recently i've been having some issues with my graphic card...
(Currently: Alienware m17x R3, with Nvidia GTX 580M, Windows 7 64bits)
First, like a month ago it started throttling, and after some researches, i have discovered it's normal and it always happen when the gpu core temperature reaches something around 76ºC (it just lowers the clocks to something around 30% of it's capacity until the temp reaches 50ºC), and when it became too constant (like happening every 5 mins) i thought it might be a problem like overheating, so i'm already ordering some arctic cooling paste, but today, for some reason, all the clocks bugged to something really awkward (like the gpu memory clock, which was put into 67Mhz)...
Restarting/reinstalling stuff won't work, i already tried overclocking to 'preset' clock, but it also didn't changed anything, it's like it's locked at this clock rate somehow, how do i proceed?
(warranty already run off etc, so that's why i'm here)

Which Dell Laptop to buy ?
I need help in deciding which of the following 2 laptops to buy (one is more expensive than the other) -
1) Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series (with Ultra 4K HD display with touch, and a commendable hardware configuration) - 15 inch
2) Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series (2-in-1 with touch) - 13 inch
I hate the fact that in both cases I cannot afford the SSD options. So
1) has 1 TB of normal hard drive & powerful graphics
2) has 500 GB of Hybrid and average graphics.
I generally would like to surf the web, watch youtube & videos and watch movies and play games some times !
Appreciate if someone could guide me choose the right one !

CD-ROM drive is being accessed randomly and for no reason

I dont know why, but yesterday I have realized that my CD-ROM drive is being accessed randomly and for no reason. It is repeating every 5-10 minutes. (it is trying to read a CD, but there is no CD in the CD-ROM) It s very annoying. I have run AV scan but no infections were found and the problem persists. I have also tried clearing Taskbar but it did not help at all. I m using Dell Inspiron 15z with win 8. Any ideas how to solve this issue?

M6300 wrong azerty keyboard mapping
Hi,
After installing W8.1 on a Dell Precision M6300 With a azerty keyboard some keys do not map properly to the keyboard layout.
The problem is mainly with special characters like §, !, +, *, @, and so on.
Is there somebody who knows a easy solution to this?

Worst Customer Service Provider
bought a brand new Inspiron 5537 laptop. The machine is defective and I've called Dell on numerous occassions over the last year and a half. The "techs" from India have taken over my computer on countless occassions but have never been able to fix the problem.
My laptop motherboard changed two times and hard disk once. Now they want to replace motherboard again form y new issue. i feel like they are doing experiment on my laptop. Is there any concrete solution available or not for problem?
For this when i talked with Dell tech team then i got solution from manager that we will replace your system. but after some day i got call that your system is not qualify for refund and replacement. Again i call back and told that i got response from your manager that they will replace it but some person from responsive team told that manager doesn't have authority to provide replacement. he talked so badly and denied to replace system. The thing go beyond when he say do whatever what you can do?
2 times motherboard changed and 1 times hard disk change within 6 month and again i am getting solution to changed motherboard. I think dell should tell that laptop may require service for every month once you purchased it. This has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had with any company over the course of my entire life.
What Step can i take now?

Inspiron 17r SE Freeze/Buzz
Hi. I hope someone can help me with this?
Basically a few days ago my laptop has started to freeze randomly and makes a kind of robotic buzz sound.. This happens when I play music/youtube videos.. It also does it when I'm playing a game as well..
It only seems to do it when audio is involved.. Laptop is running fine as I initially thought it might be overheating but I've done diagnostics on the temperature and all is normal.
I've checked on Dell's support page and all my drivers are up to date.. The BIOS update that's available warns me not install as it's the same version and Dell do not recommend using the same update.
I'm at a loss.. The laptop is only about 2 years old. I've tried everything I can think of but just can't get rid of this freeze/buzz..

PC not recognizing AC adapter although it is working well.
Every time I turn on my Dell Inspiron n5110 laptop, I get the following message:
"The AC adapter wattage and type cannot be determined. The battery may not charge. The system will adjust the performance to match the power available. Please connect a Dell 90W AC adapter or greater for the best system performance."
I don't know why I am getting this message since:
- I am using the 90W Dell AC adapter that came with the laptop
- The adapter is charging the battery properly
- The green light on the adapter stays on all the time when in use
- The port connection is fine
-i have tried updating the bios
but in the bios main screen i have "none" in front of adapter and when i strike f1 the laptop performance reduced and i got that message many times before and it was solved by reconnecting the adapter's plug now it appears every time .
please help.
