DELL XPS15 (L521X) randomly freezes on boot up
Ever since the DELL technician came to replace the touchpad, my XPS15 (L521X) randomly freezes at the DELL splash screen (F2/F12 menu screen) on boot up. When this happens the machine fails to access the HDD and boot the OS (Windows 7)
The technician observed this problem once after replacing the touchpad, but dismissed it. In coming days the problem got worse, so I rang DELL again.
The same technician returned and replaced the motherboard and hard drive. After he left, the problem continued.
The DELL techs here in Aus are struggling to find a fix for this, has any body else had more success ?
I've used DELL laptops for over 20 years, this is the first XPS, all the others were Latitudes. I was happy with the reliability of the Latitude machines and the service from DELL in previous years.
I'm now using my 5 year old Latitude D620, until DELL come back and fix the XPS.
Unfortunately, this experience has left me looking at other options for my next machine. Doubt I will buy another DELL, definitely won't buy another XPS.

Inspiron 7437 Warranty Replacement Question
Hello,
I own a Dell Inspiron 14 7000 Series 1437. A week ago when I tried to turn it on the display would not turn on and remain black. I called Dell about this and we tried a few things over the phone but nothing worked. They agreed to send some parts and a technician over in 2 days. The technician never arrived, I called Dell back and they explained to me that, in spite of the computer being less than a year old, they no longer have these parts. They offered me to exchange my laptop for a refurbished one.
I felt cheated. I felt that if I purchased an extended warranty it was for a product equal to what I originally purchased. I think it's disingenuous to offer refurbished products as part of the warranty and if Dell were planning to do this they should have made it crystal clear prior to purchase.
My question is whether this is normal for Dell customer service.

Inspiron 14 7437 heats up even when idle
Ive got windows 8.1 on my system with 8gb ram, i7 4500U processor with intel hd 4400 onboard graphics. I barely start my system and don't run any program and I can feel its already inconveniently warm at 54-56 deg C.
A few days back I updated my BIOS to A09 which is the latest one as recommended by dell. I have all the latest drivers for the chipset, graphics,etc...
The CPU,Memory and Disk are low on usage in taskmanager(all less than 10% or so). No cpu intensive program is running.
The temp shoots up to 70 once I do some installations of programs.
Not sure what could be the problem but I have a feeling its something to do with the software or power management as I never faced such heating initially when I got the system.
Any help would be appreciated.

Vostro 3550 dangerously overheating.
My Vostro 3550 has had an issue since the last bios update. It appears that from the intel power boost monitor that the laptop is constantly in boost mode. The bar graph is pegged. Obvious problem the cpu registers heat of 100 C. Boost will deactivate for a couple of seconds and then hit the roof again. This makes the laptop impossible to hold on anyone's lap. One of the obvious result was that the battery (9 cell) could not power the machine for more than about 30 minutes. I've had to go in the bios and disable the 'boost' in order to use the laptop. Even then it is on the verge of being 'hot' It is not a experience one wants to subject themselves to very often. The CPU is the i7 2.80 the vents are clear and the fan is working. It is exhausting considerable amount of heat even in energy saver condition. Any idas?

UEFI boon on Precision M6500 (Late 2009) ??
I am not able to set UEFI boot for Precision M6500 (Late 2009). There is no option for it in the Bios Boot Sequence. I updated the Bios to the latest (A10) to no avail.
Is UEFI not available for this system?

Inspiron shuts down wireless router when I turn it on
New Inspiron 17 5749 just came in the mail last night and I turned it on and when it tried to connect to my wifi it shut the wireless network down. I reset my Verizon Westell dsl router and it works fine but if I power down the laptop and power it back on it shuts down the wireless connection. I tried to contact support for help but it says my service tag and express service tag numbers are not valid. I think this is due to the fact Dell still shows it in production and not shipped yet.
Any ideas???

Problem with the blue screen and audio and graphic
I received my new Alienware R2 last week and in the next day it just went to blue screen issue with the problem “ driver power state failure". I have tried many ways to fixed this problem and three days later when I recover the computer and rebuild the driver for the video card from the Dell's website , it have stop appear again. But another new issue occurred, when I watched the online video website or the video on my laptop, the image and the sound would freeze for one or two second every one minutes and then it goes fine. Could anybody help me with those things? Also my system is Win8.1.

Cmos 5 beep dell N5010
hello, this morning I experienced an issue on my dell Inspiron N5010. Initially I had problems with the video driver because of an upgrade to Windows 7. When I restarted the notebook has issued five beeps. Looking on the internet I saw that it was due to the CMOS battery. I replaced and the result does not change.
I hope someone knows what. The warranty is gone now.

Missing my data when i gave my laptop for service
Hi, I gave my laptop for servicing on 07/01/2015 in Malaysia, kl. the technician who did the service did not request weather to delete the data or not, and he replaced me the new hard disk. now i lost all my data. i want to launch a complaint on this issue and i need my old hard disk back. the worst service i can see in the dell. very poor customer satisfaction. taking months to do the service for the issues.
