My Dell Inspiron 17R laptop boots normally. I can use it for some time, until the entire screen turns green. I still see the mouse cursor and I can move it around. Ctrl alt delete doesn't work. The only way to shut it down is hard restart. Any ideas on what might be wrong, or any fixes? Thanks

Have a Latitude E5420 and the screen suddenly turn dark. Still can see a bit but sometimes will return to the normal for while. Is this because of the parts has lose? Should change the monitor? Or related to the driver?

Dell Inspiron 1545 Fan won't stop
My fan on the inspiron 1545 will not stop running. The laptop is quite hot. The battery from Dell died and replaced with a third party battery and adapter which have not been working well either. Battery will not charge so it is currently attached to power source at all times with the battery in the laptop. Is the problem with the battery or is it something else? Please advise.

DELL 5521 CD/DVD ROM Problem
Hello i have a dell 5521 about a year ago i bought it, i was not using the dvd rom too much just sometimes like 6 or 7 time a month , yesterday i wanted to watch my uncle wedding it had 2 DVDs i inserted the Disk 1 and After it finished i Inserted Disk 2 But it Dident Worked or Readed.. i dont know why there was no Bam Sound there was no smoke nothing , just it stopped working i tooked it out inserted back, installed fresh windows but its not even flashing its small light... like its Damaged??? any suggestions would be great.. i also Tried DELL Diagnostic but the dvd rom is not even listed there... Please Help if u can...

Problem with monitor
Hello, I have the Inspiron 15 (5547), which I bought it in September 2014, I have noticed some white spots with extra backlight on the monitor of the laptop? I would like to ask is this reason for RMA ? Here is some images:
This white spots, mostly is visible on the white backgrounds and less on the other color.

Latitude e6510 -Palm Rest, Touch Pad -
i aquired this laptop a while ago, and the warranty has expired.
Currently, the mouse pad, touch pad, is acting up. When i place the laptop on a desk, table a flat surface, the mouse pad, when used, skips around. The mouse "pointer" works fine, but i hate that. Yes, i know i could use a external usb mouse.
So, if i place the laptop, on my lap, the mouse moves smoothly with no issue, so i try to place on desk again, it acts up and skips around, i try placing an object underneath to compensate, but cant get it right.
So, as long as i use this on my lap, it works smoothly, but when i use it on a desk, it skips around.
the buttons work great, its just the mouse skips around.
Ive, made sure ive updated all drivers, i have the dell system detect,running i have dell check for drives i need, and im all up to date, at first the drivers were old, and i updated a month ago...everything.
Touchpad privacy?
the dell touchpad software, the first one, had a nice feature, when you place your palm over the mousepad, it would auto-dim the screen, for privacy,,then when i updated to the latest driver/software for mousepad or touch pad, that option had changed a little, using your 3 fingers this time, but it doesnt work ...at all...
So in closing, the mousepad or touchpad, while using a flat surface or a desk, makes the mouse skip around.
but, using laptop on my lap, which is pretty flat, works smoothly, and doesnt cause any issues.
Options ive done:
-Upgraded all the drivers to latest
-installed/updated the mousepad,dell mouse pad software and drivers
System Specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit (i installed MY ultimate edition and not the one that came with the dell)
-Dell drivers all updated,installed and working (except the mousepad)
- 4GB of Sys Ram
-Video card, factory, it says 1700mb, but it also says 32mb
The only option i could think that im sure would work, replace the palmrest/touchpad.
But, it would make sense if using on lap and it skips around as well as resting it on the desk, but..it doesnt, just the desk/flat surface is when it acts up.
...this is frustrating to say the least.
is there a trick to this? a Tweak? or a reseating of the palmrest, or a 3rd party driver or a beta...or a different version of a driver old or new that would work.

Dell Support Team and Community Member, Please help (SOS).....I bought Inspiron 11 3000, 11.6 in touch 64 W8.1 pro. I faced miserable life with wi-fi feature. Status always On-Off, Cut, Jammed, Limited, Slow....I tried all available solutions in WWW, nothing fixed my issue. Studio 1555 Powers ON but no display - passed LCD BIST test
Hi,
I bought my Studio 1555 laptop about 4 years ago. Recently it has been showing issues of automatic restarts and no booting. Initially the laptop was overheating and fan was running at very high speeds, so I figured it was a cooling issue - so cleaned up the area near the fan and put everything back in carefully. So now that problem is solved, but NO display issue still remains. The laptop power light switches ON, but I don't see any display in the monitor - so I ran the LCD BIST test - and turns out the LCD works just fine. I identified that the items below could be the issues. Please respond with your suggestions and what I can do to rectify this issue. The system is out of warranty.
1. Connect to an external monitor - but this test would be redundant because we already know that the display is fine with the LCD BIST test.
2. Replace the video card or memory module
3. Replace the motherboard.
I read somewhere that taking out the BIOS battery and putting it back again solved the issue - but I can't understand the reason behind it.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions. I don't want to spend on motherboard or a new laptop. Please give your suggestions.

Dell studio 1747 low wireless signal
I have a Dell Studio 1747 laptop with windows 7 professional. I am having a problem with a low signal with my wireless internet on my laptop. My samsung galaxy s3 and macbook pro achieve full signal while my laptop gets 1 to 2 bars of signal which at one bar of signal the internet runs at a snails pace. I also have a Edimax wireless adapter that plugs into a usb port and I always get 5 bars of signal, sometimes it runs slow probably due to the connectivity of the usb port I am using. I have a Motorola Surfboard SBG6580 router/modem which is on the same floor and is positioned 6 feet away. The wireless card on my computer is a Dell DW 1520 which I am not sure if the card is working like it should. I tried taking out the card but the screw is so tight that I can't get out, I have read that you can apply a soldering iron to help loosen the screw which probably has loctite on it. What can I do to get out the screw and would I need to get another Dell DW 1520 wireless card or get a different card?

Inspiron 5520 Correct Drivers?
Laptop model: Dell Inspiron 5520 (15R)
OS: Windows 8.1
I've recently updated my OS to Windows 8.1 and am in the process of updating the required drivers. They were found and downloaded from the following page: http://downloads.dell.com/published/pages/inspiron-15r-5520.html
Whilst some drivers are clearly marked as for Windows 8.1 (as O.S 'WB32A' or 'WB64A' for some reason) some are not. Is it possible to install Windows 8 drivers for 8.1 in sections where 8.1 is not explicitly stated?
Secondly, looking into the BIOS drivers, I can't seem to find the latest drivers for 8.1. The latest update (http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/DriversDetails?productCode=inspiron-15r-5520&driverId=396HW) only states 'BIOS' under the"Supported O.S" section. Is it O.K to install this one?

Hi all, I own a XPS17 L702x 3D (4 memory slots) Installed memory 2x 2GB + 1x 4 GB = 8GB
I would like to upgrade the memory to 16 GB by adding one 8GB module.
Is this possible ? On the dell website I cannot find the XPS17 with the memory configurator.
