I want to check all newest drivers myself from the internet. For the intel drivers i need to know which desktop board type the laptop has. I can't find it anywhere so can someone please help me?
I have this exact model:
Inspiron 15R SE 7520, servicetag: 1VYVHV1 (Late 2010 model)
The product line it has is the intel 7 series chipset boards but than i need to know which exact product name it has.

My Dell inspiron m5010 will no longer boot correctly, When I turn it on, the splash screen will show up, then it will restart the computer, and will keep doing that until I shut down the computer. I did a memory test, it was fine. I replaced the hard drive, and it stopped for a while but now the problem came back again.
I tested the laptops RAM, one stick at a time and it still wouldn't work.
any suggestions?

i'm trying to activate windows 8.1 in my dell laptop and iv'e received the following message:
Error code: 0x8007232B: DNS name does not exist.
how can i fix this problem?

Laptop is doing one beep intervals and screen is black. Is there any way to bypass or get it to boot.
My dell inspiron 1525 wont charge and it only comes on when connected to the charge, the battery says charging normally, then on the home screen it says connected not charging. On the outside the battery flashes back and forth going from blue to Orange.
I know there has to be a simple fix somewhere, but I'm just not seeing it. How do I remove the little blue Dell Update box from my screen?
Hi experts just few minutes ago I was surffing internet on my dell inspiron 5521 an battery level was around 72% it suddenly goes off. It was not a turn off or windows error. I feel it was something from inside hardwarebecause it is not tturning on by pushing on button and tried to charge him butcharging light did not on but adapter light was on that means adapter is fine. I have removed the bettery and puts it back but no power for laptop. There is not a error soon total no power. Please suggest a solution if anyone have faced it.
On my old XPS, when the screen turned off, the keyboard backlight would turn off with it automatically. My new Inspiron 17 does not do this, and I can't find anything that seems to control the behavior. Is there a way to do this?
Alternately, is there a software solution to control the keyboard backlight?
We received a large number of Dell docking stations. The serial number on the box is different than on the back of the docking station that comes packed in the box. We scan all the serial numbers when we receive at our warehouse. Then we ship to our divisions through out our company. We track by using serial numbers. Do you record the serial number listed on the box in sending to the end consumer. or the serial number on the actual device. I want to avoid a discrepancy if needing a warranty repair. you can understand how there is an issue having to unbox hundreds to get the serial numbers listed on the product. Please let me know. I was given a nice E6510 that doesn't boot. I've taken it apart and tested the memory, all the connections, reseated the processor (yes I used arctic silver) and it never gets past the 'one time boot menu', the diagnostic boot freezes but I CAN get to the very complex BIOS version A16.
So, I bought a new MOBO thinking that would solve the boot issue but it hasn't-it's doing exactly the same thing.
From other discussions, I saw a LED code that may indicate the problem-Dell calls this an "OPTION ROM", may be 'unseated' or the system board is bad.
What is "Option ROM" and how can it be reseated? Are there any other things I can do in BIOS to change this? I also replaced the SATA CDROM and the hard drive, and I know the USB port works okay but nothing will boot from them.
I am having a problem with my keyboard on my dell studio 1737. When you press certain keys on the keyboard the adjacent keys are activated as well as the key itself. I've tried various techniques I've read about to correct the problem such as removing power from the laptop for an extended period of time and installing new bios drivers but nothing seems to work. From the information I can gather this is a common problem with this model of Dell laptop. What is the best way to correct this problem. Will replacing the keyboard correct this problem or is there some other problem causing the malfunction? Thanks for any information....
I've had my laptop for a little over 4 months. I primarily use a wireless mouse with it...and every so often the mouse will take on a mind of its own. I can be typing or even trying to use the mouse and it will start jumping all over the screen on its own...selecting things...even switching/moving windows as if buttons are being pressed as well. At first I thought maybe it was interference with the touchpad...so I've tried both disabling the touchpad when the external mouse is plugged in...and disabling the touchpad altogether and the issue still occurs. So then I thought maybe the mouse is the issue, so at one point when it wents nuts on me, I turned it off and switched over to the touchpad...but the erratic behavior continued. The only thing I can do to fix it is to reboot...and then things are typically okay for several days before the issue starts up again. Any thoughts on what the issue maybe, or troubleshooting tips?

I just recently started having a few issues with my Inspiron 7437. A former problem I had was that my "Enter Key" wasnt working but I got that fixed. A day later, I started having issues with a few of the Fn keys started not working. Expecially with the "Play/Pause" on the F4 key started not functioning. A second problem I received was a warning in my "Action Center" telling me that my sensor device isnt working properly because a compatible driver is not available for this version of Windows.

Hello. Sorry for the disturb, i own a dell xps l702x and i recently by accident i erase the recovery usb i have create
when i took my laptop. I have change the hard disk to ssd but i have and the factory hdd erased with win8 because i didn't care cause i already have the recovery usb..
Is there any one who own an l702x to share the recovery disks? I already ask i dell greece but without luck. Dell us offers recovery disks but i leave in greece..

PS: Somewhere i have an old backup from the recovery with a folder IMAGE contains 3 files FACTORY.WIM, BASE.WIM and winre.wim. I don't know if this help somehow.

My hard drive packed up and so I bought another one which is a seagate momentus ST500LM012, 500gb
Now after adding it the machine doesn't get passed the dell screen. I've removed the hard drive and got into the bios and then put the hard drive back and nothing detected and also run diagnostics and nothing's detected. I even unscrewed the entire laptop twice and nothing's loose.
I have tried releasing any static in the battery and still nothing's happening, any ideas, help!

I am trying to install a hybrid HDD with solid state and a mechanical back-up. The SSD portion works but I can't run the HDD utilities to turn on the mechanical drive portion. I need to turn off RAID and activate AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface) for HDD's in the Bios settings. It would also be nice to update my bios as the revisions come out. I need to override the Password... Please help.
my laptop INSPIRON 17 (3721) has problems to start and makes 5 beeps. I saw in other forum that it is a matter of the coin battery. I have already changed it and it is still doing the same. It doesn't show video, there's no fan noise but the power led is on. After about 5 minutes the fan starts.
what are your suggestions to solve this problem??
I have a dell laptop and when i press F2 to boot into the bios it looks likes its corrupt. The laptop does boot into windows and displays everything fine and when i press F12 to chose boot priority it displays fine, this problem only happens when I try to boot into the bios.
I tried flashing the bios in windows with a 1545_A14.EXE bios update i downloaded form the dell website, my computer restarted like it said it would but the bios still had the same problem. I created a bootable dos usb stick and tried to update the bios, it looked like it was successfully but it still has the problem. I disconnected all power and removed the button cell and held the power button in for 10 secs but that didn't work.
Does anyone have anything else I can try or do you think its a faulty motherboard?

Today I noticed a strange issue..
I touched the screen, nothing happened I thought something has happened to it but I made sure that "USB Composite Device" in Device Manager is not disabled.
I closed the LED and opened it again and the touch worked.
Why such an issue happens anyway? Is this related to Software issue "Windows 8.1"?
Or because I used a pencil over a transparent paper on the screen?
