I had a dell E4300 laptop, I used it at home during the night without connecting to the electric power, it went off and I leave it, I connect it to the power the next day and turn it on, it appear WINDOW ERROR RECOVERY, i tried all the options provided but not able to open. it appeared blank on the screen.

Hello everyone. Yesterday I have the Dell technician came to my place and changed my broken LCD of my xps 15 (9530) which I just bought for 1 month plus. The strange part was when he finished the changing, turned out the laptop couldn't be booted, a dead pc. He did not touch anything except for the attached LCD cables. He said it might be the motherboard failure after changing the LCD. My question is how does that happen? And would replacing the new motherboard affects my future use? Will my data stay safe because of the error they've caused?

My problem is, firstly. Dell System Detect will NOT work!!!!
Secondly, when entering Service Tag or Express Service code. I'm constantly told I have entered incorrect code/s.
I wish to find out all the specs on my laptop. Where do I find it? Like what specs are the usb ports etc.
I am looking at doing a lot of video editing with my new gopro. And would like to know if my M17X-R4 can handle the job or do I need to modify or upgrade things????
When checking google for the specs I get numerous different specs. Ie: Google sites say the M17X-R4 has 500 HDD. But when I right click properties it says 271Gbb free of 922???? i dont understand why.
I bought it brand new in store and have not touched it since.
Anyone help me out.

First I would like to thank you for reading this post and helping me trouble shoot this issue.
To this day I did not have any problems with my work laptop (E6230), it connects to my work external monitor (which is also Dell) just fine with all modes (duplicate, extend, etc...). I used to have a Dell monitor at home too, which worked just fine. And now I just got this new monitor (Samsung S24D300), which is a full HD monitor, and I seem to have trouble having my laptop get on the extended display mode with this monitor. It duplicates the screen (with extremely low resolution, as one might expect), but when it comes to extending the screen - it just goes black. I tried both, VGA and HDMI - same result.
Please note that my dell laptop works perfectly fine with my dell monitor, and my samsung monitor works perfectly fine with my macbook pro - so this is some type of a compatibility issue. I tried using windows driver update for the Intel HD 4000 video card, but it says that it is the most current one.
Any ideas?

my 2006 Dell Inspiron 9400 is starting to show its age. It's still my all day workhorse and I like the large 17" screen (1920x1200).
Although it has a Dual core CPU T7200 2.0 GHz, and I have put 4 GB into it, 500GB SSD, it can only use 3.25 GB and the bus is not the fastest, even with USB 3.0 Nec chip Express card and the GeForce Go 7900 GS, it can't cope with modern OpenGL versions etc.
I always liked the Dell Service (24h on site repair) so I tend to buy a Dell again although Apple products are tempting me :)
What would be a good Dell Notebook these days (64bit multi core, much RAM, SSD capable, not necessarily SSD out of the box, would prefer third party after buy, large screen,, fast multicore CPU, really good Graphics card)?

Hi, this laptop shows perfect picture on external monitor, but on his shows Dell logo and after that screen goes blank. What might be the cause? Is it inverter?
I bought a new laptop from US through my friend. Then I changed the admin pw of the system. After that I did not use for some time and then when I again tried to use, it is not accepting the PW.
When I am trying to reset through my msn AC, the pw is not coming to my mailbox. The system is saying there is no internet connection.
What to do for this? Please suggest.
I have recently received a Latitude E7240 as my work laptop. It worked fine for the first few months and then suddenly a few days ago the whole system shut down. I sent it to our IT department and they said it was fine as when they tried to boot up it actually worked! They returned it and it worked fine for a day, but once again it has now stopped working.
When I try to turn it on, the power light comes on, then the hard disk light flashes on and then both turn off. From the user manual, the error that seems to be happening is listed as:
"System failed on hard drive initialization OR System failed in Option ROM initialization"
I have tried with and without battery, and with or without AC power and with or without the docking station but it's the same problem no matter what the situation.
Is there any way for this to be resolved or will I need to request a new laptop? Any information I can pass on to the IT department would be useful. I have a few files saved on the system that I would like to recover if possible.
Hello, my Dell laptop has been having issues after a clean Windows 8.1 install.
After using it for about two minutes, the screen turns black and won't respond to anything. I don't know what's happening, as it is a clean install. I turn it back on, and I get a black screen, it's still on as the fans are working. It just won't respond or take me to the log in screen.
Him hope someone can help. My laptop was fine yesterday but today when I turned it on it just went to a white screen. No bleeps andno other screen showing. I tried to take of the battery and remove the power and hold the start button for a few seconds and then pop the power back in but it still does that something. Please help :-( thanks in advance for any support in fixing this :-)
I have Dell N5050 the windows 7 is available in recovery partion but i had to format windows 7 original and i installed a windows 7 without product key and tried to recover via advance boot but dell recovery tool is not visible and the dell backup and recovery is not able to restore with error 0x400110020000100A. Hence i need the product key of windows 7 as the back one faded out.P.S:I have purchased this laptop from USA.

I downloaded the blue tooth stack and installed it, when it runs it says it cannot communicate with the blue tooth chip and aborts. I have turned all the necessary things in system setup for the internal blue tooth device but it still does not work. Isn't there supposed to be a blue tooth indicator on my laptop somewhere that should be on, if so I do not see it. Any help is appreciated.
I have my laptop in a dock with external monitors a lot of the time. Before BIOS update A12, powering on while docked would show the entire boot sequence on the external monitors:
1. Dell logo
2. POST information
3. Prompt for SecureDoc (disk encryption) password
4. Windows boot screen
After updating to BIOS A12, I don't see anything on the monitors at all. They indicate no signal as if the laptop is still powered off.
When I undock the machine and open the built in display I see that it is waiting for my SecureDoc password. After entering that I can dock again and see the Windows boot screen.
I don't know if it matters, but my machine has Intel HD Graphics 4600 and an AMD Radeon HD 8790M.
Is this the right place to report this bug or is there another feedback form somewhere?
Hello, I bought my Inspiron 17R in autumn 2013 with I7&1TB and after a week the fan got louder.
For a certain period I though it was normal that the fan gets loud while playing games but it started to make noise even when I was watching a video or surfing on the net... I get used to it but now it makes noise from the moment I turn it on. I can´t even watch a movie without headphones because of the loud fan.
Is there any way to make it stop or decrease the noise?

I recently bought this 2-in-1 and I love it but when using the keypad the cursor freezes temporarily in between actions so I have to resort to touch to continue. There's a lag of a few seconds (10) that is frustrating when I want to use the device as a laptop. The touchpad becomes unresponsive and I have to wait or use touch to continue...
Any ideas, thoughts? Can this be altered in Settings or is it a bug?

Good day. I used to be a Dell Technician too, 578260. I got a latitude e6430 given to me from the company I am currently working now Prodagio Software.
I am locked out of my BIOS but manage to use the laptop using finger print. I forgot my password and with that problem I am not able to modify anything inside the BIOS. I am afraid to do a reset because I might lose the A08 upgrade.
Please advise.

I have a computer that is booting fine, but every once and a while it beeps 3 times and repeats when it is turned on, and doesn't stop until it is turned off. I also noticed the fan kicks on and off quickly at some points. I ran dell diagnostics.
RESULTS:
Msg: Error Code 2000-0411
Msg: Cables - Clock generator not detected
Any ideas could be helpful. I have replaced a failing hard drive and a bad battery so far. I also have cleaned out the cooling system and reapplied thermal compound. None of which has resolved the issue. I was thinking it may be the CMOS battery but the date and time stay the same. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the Studio 1749 Laptop and am recently have some issues with initial start up failures and while in use or before sign in will randomly go black and to sleep. Where again i'll have issues waking the computer up which the majority of the time consists of making it back to the lock screen and going back to sleep as I type the password.
I realize initial thoughts may be on hard drive failures especially with start up failure but i have recently bought and installed a Samsung SSD.
My thoughts are that the power button might be the issue as to resolve the issue i usually close and open the lid or press firmly on the power button. Maybe it is stuck pressed down?
Is it a common issue to have with the types of Dell Laptops and what can i do to fix this issue? (PC world want £50 for an investigation and then an additional £50 for a service, which frankly is too much).
