I just installed Win 7 on my XPS13 L322X and have everything working with these exceptions:

1.  The A15 BIOS update fails with “Unexpected error, please reboot and try again” Code 0x00000207. I have downloaded it twice and saved it to the desktop but same error occurs. I currently have A10 running.
2.  Two devices still do not have drivers after I followed all your steps:
    – Intel 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family USB 3.0 Extensible Host Controller Installation Disk – 1E31 (hardware ID is DEV_1E31)
    – Unknown Device (Hardware ID ACPI\INT33A0)

Can anyone identify drivers for these?

Plus I have a trivial issue with my Inland Bluetooth mouse: I can’t get it into Discoverable mode to pair it with the XPS13. It shows up in the Bluetooth Devices pane but it doesn’t work. Any ideas?

My dell inspiron 7537 is not powering up. When charger plugged in the charger led glows, but when powered on nothing happens. No display, no light, no beeps, no fan, nothing. Please help.

I have had my Inspiron 7347 for a few days.  When operating on the battery, the touchpad exhibits some quirks that make this P:C extremely hard to use as a portable laptop.

The mouse on the touchpad hangs up intermittently, sometimes for several seconds.  This erratic behavior makes using the mouse terribly difficult.

When scrolling using the mouse on a vertical scroll bar, the right click menu for the desktop keeps popping up.  I must move the mouse away from the scroll bar, left click to get rid of the right click menu, and return the mouse to the scroll bar.  Sometimes this behavior is constant when scrolling through a long page, making it impossible to use the mouse to scroll.

I have searched this forum for answers, but what I find is other users complaining about the same problems going back months.  Here is one of the threads, started on 11/9/2014, almost two months ago:

I find it hard to understand how Dell can sell and ship PCs with a well known set of very serious touchpad problems.  My guess is that a new driver is needed - NOW!

Sir

I put my laptop on sleep by closing the lid but after some time when I open the lid it doesn't show any display. I tried to on the laptop by pressing power button but it doesn't responding.

I bought it around 4 months ago.

My inspiron 15r 5520 is shuts down suddenly when doing slightly stressful tasks like playing games ,which i didn't encounter in the starting months.

My inspiron 15r 5520 is 1 year old and now it shuts down suddenly when doing slightly stressful tasks like playing games ,which i didn't encounter in the starting months.

But from week whenever i play a game it shuts down in 10 min .Later i tried few suggestions from dell forums on overheating and found that the laptop runs fine on battery and as soon i plug in the adapter it turns off in 10 min .

I checked if it is a overheating problem and found the cores temp at around 60 degrees celsius when idle and it crosses 100 when i play games plugged in and around 95 degrees on battery.

I then checked if its due to dust but everything is clean and i use a cooling pad so this is quite abnormal.

I have all the updated drivers and bios, fresh installed windows again ,so i'm confused on what to do .

Awaiting quick response.

My XPS 15 laptop purchased in January 2011 needs to have the HD replaced. It's a 640 GB 7200 RPM drive and I'm looking to replace it with either a 2 TB Seagate 5400 RPM or a WD 2 TB 7200 RPM.  Will I have any issues with compatibility since they are much larger GB drives?  Any suggestions?

Hi guys!

I've got a Dell Vostro 3360 laptop, with a 500gb HDD + 32gb SSD (hybrid) and a pre-installed Windows 8.1. My problem is the following: I've tried to re-install the OS (windows 7 x64) but the installer can't find any drives. I've googled the problem and found this topic: www.dell.com/.../EN

It says:

1. Ensure Sata mode is set to RAID in BIOS or in some systems Intel Smart Response Technology

2. Go to RAID BIOS(Use Ctrl+I) and disable accelerate option for SSD (Only if HDDs are not detected while OSRI)

My raid setting is ISRT, but I can't enter the raid bios, cause CTRL+ I does nothing. I also tried CTRL + R and G but neither worked.
Could you help me to reinstall the OS?

Hi I have a Inspiron 1545 (tag fwt15bs) 2010 model.

in 2014, my battery was no longer working. I used the laptop on direct power with battery removed for many months. Eventually i bought a new battery from a dell store quoting my model and service tag.

The new battery behaves weirdly.

Now in case of a power cut , the laptop stays on. The battery icon on the task bar shows either of 2 signs. One a cross x mark or a exclamation mark.

If it is a cross mark, the sign remains, and i can use the laptop as it is and the battery last as much it is supposed to.

If it is a exclamation mark, it shows a message that 99% battery is remaining and amount of time remaining (say 3-4 hours) but advises to connect a power source or alternate battery. The type of message you get when your battery charge is at its end. After 2-3 minutes, the laptop shuts down.

Now to resolve this, I restart the laptop. Once it restarts , the exclamation sign changes to cross sign and all is good. This happens every time like a alternate cycle. if the exclamation mark comes, a restart will definitely bring the cross mark.

Now there is no logic as to if the cross comes or the exclamation mark in the first place in case of a power cut. It is random.

Strange being the fact, the battery is brand new. I have flashed the bios but that did not solve anything.

Please let me know if this is a know problem and how to solve it.

Sometimes it becomes troublesome to restart as all sessions needs to be disconnected.

Hi I am Jason Lapene, living in Atlanta. One of my friend had purchased a laptop six months ago and he is facing some issues with his computer and not able to work it in a proper manner. Last week he discussed this issue with the concerned people and already spent some money but the problem is same, even they do not explain whether it is hardware or software issue. Please help if you have any suggestion..

Hi,

I have got mSATA drive without frame for installation to HDD-bay. So, I temporally removed WAN card before I get correct installation kit and installed W8.1 on mSATA.

Now, I've got correct kit to install mSATA into HDD bay of E7440, unfortunately W8.1 stops booting, just displaying blue-screen with strange characters (looks like big Arabic-letters), after pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL it says something about crash dump and next boot goes in to recovery screen of windows. Auto-recovery isn't working, manual recovery attempts by recboot or bcdedit are always finishing with blue-screen with "Arabic-like-letters". Is there any correct way how to move my mSATA drive from WAN bay to HDD bay without WIN re-install? Are the SATA ports in WAN and HDD bay compatible?

Forgot to mention BIOS params, secure boot is ON, RAID mode is ON

I thought sleep mode only occured when you did not touch the mouse or keyboard for a specific period of time but my new ultrabook is dimming and locking me out while I am typing. I have to push the blinking power button and then I have the blue screen with CTRL+ALT+DELETE (work laptop).

I cannot find any sleep mode settings and perhaps it is something hidden since this is my company laptop but it's really annoying

Any help?

Hi, I have a dell inspiron exactly like the one here http://www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-15-7537. I see on the page that it advertises compatability with Dragon Assistant and I use FastAccess to log in every day. Unfortuantely I have no idea how to download Dragon Assistant to my computer. When I first asked dell support they said there was no way to, then when I showed them the link above they sent me to http://www.nuance.co.uk/dragon/dragon-assist/dell/index.htm

which didn't work as my laptop isn't one of those listed, can anyone suggest what I can do? Thanks!

Hi, I have bought an INSPIRON 17 7000s, I received on 4th Jan 2015 (2 days ago) and few minutes after I turned it On, the fan start and is not loud, but is really uncomfortable noise.

The is an option to see why the fan is almost all time on, even when the temperature is cool.

I purchased a replacement battery charger and adapter less than two months ago. The rubberized coating is now sliding down and you can see the inside wiring. After being transfered 4 times, they tell me that the my computer is not under warranty. I told them I knew that and it had nothing to do with the problem.  They then said that since the cord was still functioning it was not covered under 1 year parts warranty. If one of the wires actually comes loose due to defective rubberized protection and burns down my house, is it then covered under warranty?

I have a N5010 Inspiron.

My battery has been down to a few minutes for a yr or two.

I keep my laptop plugged in always unless traveling.

Today, my battery light started flashing. Amber for times then white then repeats. 

Since I was plugged in I was perplexed. I looked on my screen and it showed 100 percent battery meaning I am plugged in.

Then I turned my computer completely off. THE LIGHT KEPT FLASHING. Now it is getting spooky.

I unplug the power supply from the back of the computer and the light went off.

Hours later I plugged everything back in. Started the computer and the light started again. Since it is no warning for anything other than the battery, 

I tried unplugging while computer was on. Still flashing.

I turned off. Took battery out and put back in. Still Flashing. 

While off AND battery out I plugged in and no flashing

Put batter back in....plugged in and flashing resumed. 

So for now I am trying to ignore it.

I am concerned though.

Any idea why this is happening and if I could have a short or a sizzle or fire in the future? I do not want to risk paying for a new battery or a power cord. Could the power cord be the issue?

I clean installed windows 7 home premium x64 version 6.17601 SP1 on my Vostro 3650, resintalled all the drivers available on the site, but I'm not sure how to get back some touchpad functions. I used to be able to click both the left and right buttons to open new tabs/close new tabs in google chrome for example. I don't seem to have the option to edit touchpad settings and can't find any dell touchpad software.

I'm running the latest Bios (A17)

Can it be done with the Samsung 1 TB SSD? Or do I need to get the HDD and replace that with the SSD? Thanks :)

one morning, the screen is black. Won't start. Won't do safe mode. Was able to get into diagnostic.

During a test labeled "Pre-boot System Assessment Build 4129" received an Error Message:

"Error Code 0146.

Msg: Error Code 2000-0146

Msg: Hard Drive 0 - self test log contains previous errors."

Can anyone help ?  thanks, Rich V.

I am not able to boot my Dell computer. When I use Dell DataSafe I get the error code 0x400110020000100C. After searching Dell's user forum I see that I need to obtain the OEM disks for my computer, a Dell Inspiron 14z. If you can help me that would be great.
