I'm looking to upgrade my RAM on Dell XPS 17 L702x with non 3D Nvidia 3GB GT 555M.
So, the system came with 2x4GB RAM modules and only two slots are available. I can't find definitive answer as to what is the max RAM is supported. Looks like systems with Nvidia GT 450M officyaly support only up to 4 GB RAM per slot. How about systems with Nvidia GT 555M?
Also, has anyone actually tried to install 2x8GB RAM modules in L702x with only two slots? What was the result? What RAM did you use?

Many crash for running programs:
ex. chrome, flash player, km player
And this problems exaggerated when iam surfing the internet.
When I run ePSA pre-boot System Assessment:

Hello! I have a Latitude E6420, and i can't for the life of me get it to work. There is absolutely no life, and the battery and power lights don't light up with the ac adapter connected. I've tried taking out the battery and connecting the ac, no change. Won't work. Any recommendations?

When I go into the Control Panel and try to make system image backup on external hard drive get message saying backup failure. Have tried several times. External backup works fine for other things. Anybody able to do this?
My Dell Inspiron 5000 (Model 5545) has a keyboard flex problem, particularly in the first several lines of the keyboard. Is this usual? Is it something to do with the backlighted keyboard? Thanks.
I have a Dec 2013 mid range 9530 model with the 30GB msata and 1TB non SSD hard drive. I recently encountered the issue where the limited size of the msata isn't enough for the Intel Rapid start to function correctly. The cost to replace the msata with a larger capacity drive isn't that much for the 125GB version, but it seems to me that it might be better in the long run to increase the hard drive capacity by buying the 1GB Samsung version and partitioning a small part of it for the Intel Rapid Start and Rapid Storage. That would then leave my current 1TB hard drive to be used as a second internal drive for backup or storage. Is there a reason that I shouldn't do this?
I like the rapid start function and would prefer to have the laptop function as it did prior to this issue. Is there another way to accomplish this without buying a larger msata? I see there is an option to flush the cache, but that supposedly hurts performance.
i have a dell inspiron 1420. I've had it about 1 yr. i honestly don't treat it nicely..
my problem is . when i try to start it .. it start well but it stock in starting window and then it get blue screen and restart and lead me to window error recovery.. then i try it many time but my computer doesn't fix the problem..please help my computer is so important.. i.am a college student.

I have a Inspirion N5050 laptop. A few weeks ago, it started running slow and Adchoices ads appeared. I removed them. I ran a scan using AVG, which detected nothing. I shut down the laptop as a precaution. Now it will not load Windows. I press the power button, the dell logo appears, then I hear what I think is the hard drive click, then the screen goes dark for a second, then the logo and a click and so on and so on. I am able to get to the menus with f2 and f12, but I have no idea what to do next. Safe mode will not respond ( I cannot get into it). Any ideas?
Just what the post says. They will not stand behind their substandard products. It's a good way for them to get rich though.
I just bought a new Dell Windows 7 laptop, and I was transferring the data from my old Windows 7 laptop to my new Windows 7 laptop using Windows Easy Transfer, and was transferring via my network. It was a great deal of data, and at some point the new laptop lost contact with the old (I think the old went to sleep maybe). So now I have only part of the data on the new laptop. I don't want to start over because I'm afraid some of the data will be duplicated, etc. So, I was thinking about resetting the new laptop to the factory settings (there is nothing on there that I need, so there will be no loss), and then doing the transfer again using an Easy Transfer cable, which will presumably be faster. Is there any reason not to reset to the factory settings, and if not, how do I do so? Many thanks.

Just got my Alienware 13 today and I am trying to figure things out. For some reason I cannot locate any settings for the trackpad. I really want to change the natural scrolling, and disable 2 finger scrolling.
I have been through the mouse settings but there is not synamptics section, and Device manager shows PS/2 Compatible Trackpad (Windows Default Driver). I tried locating drivers from Dell but they seem to not have any for the trackpad.
If anyone can help, that would be greatly appreciated.
I own a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Series i7537T-5005sLV.
A short while ago I tried to power on my laptop but it didn't come on. I thought that the battery drained and I didn't notice however when I plugged in the power cord no lights came on. I decided to open up the laptop and remove the battery and put back the battery and try to power on the laptop. It came on after doing that and I saw lights again.
I also notice that after reseating the battery, the latency between pressing the power button and the laptop actually coming on is shorter. It is almost instantaneous.Before there was about a 1.5 seconds delay. (THIS COULD BE MY IMAGINATION THOUGH)
I also noticed that I got little "pinches" or small shocks when my skin comes in contact with the edge of the laptop, especially at the end of the palm rest area. The shocking sensation could be cause the hair on my hands as my skin brush along the edges of the laptop as I type. I say this because I've never experienced a shock touching anywhere else on the laptop and I never felt a shock while using the tips of my fingers to touch the edges.
One last thing I feel I should mention. Around the SD card slot area there is a small dent protruding outwards; barely noticeable. It was a brand new laptop and the seal on the box wasn't broken or tampered with so I am assuming that this was a manufacture's defect. One I was willing to overlook since the dent wasn't that bad and added some character to the laptop. However I am beginning to worry that the unit might be damaged and that is why I had the power issue.
The laptop is about two weeks old. I had to replace the first one because the display had horizontal waves running from top to bottom. Even in the BIOS. They were especially visible against gray backgrounds.
I don't want to have to return another one and I like the laptop but if it is unsafe to use then I'd rather send it back and keep my life.

I am planning to buy a new battery and adapter compatible with my system. I was going through "compuindia.com", however unable to confirm which battery & adapter is compatible with my system.

i had to reinstall xp and have 1 driver missing the network controller driver for the wifi only numbers i can find on the card is T60H906 a search says it's a Broadcom card but the only drivers i can find are for a Acer how can i solve this problem laptop is a

My Dell (alps) touchpad started acting up recently, and I went to the interface in the control panel and it would NOT open. I found the file in program files, and it looks like this:
The older one was MUCH better, IMO!
SO, how do I get the BETTER one back?????
And WHY will the properties not open when I click on the control panel???

I'm facing the similar issue on my laptop Insipiron15Z 5523.
Before the issue got popped up, i was ran into waves in the screen and it was persisted for more than a minute so i thought of something went wrong and made forced Shut down by long pressing the power button.
Enclosed the image for quick diagnostics.
Then again i was attempted to switch on my lap,following odd things happened.
1.After switching on, LED lights of Power button,favorites,Music were flashed - usual - nothing got worked.
2.Not got any response, after sometime i heard long beep sound at equal intervals without gap.
3.Beep sound never shuts down and i press the power button in single stroke,machine got switched(not long press)
4.Next time i was attempt to run for diagnostics mode like pressing the F2 & F3 button,no use.
My Laptop is non responsive and am not getting any indications on my screen.

We have separated the screen from the actual notebook , and wish to install something away. Now we face the problem is the cable connecting the notebook and monitor too short. An extension of the 56 screened lines seems hopeless .
Can you help us connect to the cable manufacturer should be ?
