M6800 battery removal
I bought a refurbished M6800 on ebay. The battery release won't budge so I can't remove the battery. The seller thinks it must be jammed and that if I transfer the warranty and call Dell they will come and fix it. It has 3 years of NBD. Does anyone know why it might be jammed or can confirm that this is covered under warranty? advTHANKSance

Dell 3137 TouchScreen does not work.
I have an Inspirion 3137 with a clean install of Windows 8. My touch screen does not work at all. So far I have:
- installed all available driver updates from Dell
- installed all available Windows updates
- updated to windows 8.1
- installed all original software from Dell backup image
I tried following troubleshooting to calibrate the touchscreen and the calibration options are not available in the control panel.
I have found that the touchscreen is not listed in the device manager under human interface devices. I found an updated chipset that claims to fix this issue but it is apparently not compatible with this computer.
I am new to Windows 8/8.1 and have no idea where to go from here. This is my first Dell and so far I am not having good luck with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Dell Latitude won't start up
My laptop got stuck at the "Windows is loading files" screen no matter I boot in normal or safe mode. I tried to run a diagnotics and the hard disk and everything are ok. Only error found is "Primary battery is reaching the end of its usable life". Please help.

Dell Inspirion mini 10 (T-Mobile) can not factory reset, Problem Unknown
So I acquired this Inspirion mini from my sister a couple of days ago (she had it sitting in storage for a few months) and originally planned to have it factory reset so I could use it mainly for a trip I have coming up and for a good note taking laptop that's small and convenient. She bought it (I believe) about 2-3 years ago from a T-Mobile store locally. However, I went to do a standard factory reset on the model ran into an issue. She "claims" nothing was wrong with it but there are numerous randomly installed programs and I am assuming maleware of all kinds so I really just wanted to wipe the whole thing and start a new. When I went into the F8 recovery menu on start up, I select the "Repair My Computer" option and it goes into the load windows file screen, loads all the way across the screen and then goes blank and starts into windows normally. Somehow there is a problem with either accessing the system recovery program (or maybe a partition problem?) I have no idea. I don't much experience with Dell Computers and their recovery process but I am pretty knowledgeable about computers and windows OS.
The computer is a Dell Insprion mini 10 (I think its a 1010, unsure) and its running the Windows 7 Starter. The computer is the mini so it contains no optical drive just an FYI.
WHAT I HAVE TRIED.
I attempted to obviously get into the repair my computer screen from boot menu to no avail. I did a system restore to the furtherst point saved on her computer and then tried the boot menu option again and no luck. I did try to make a usb drive with EasyRE Windows 7 recovery on it following all the proper set up instructions to make it bootable but the computer refuses to boot into the usb drive and just stays blank in a command prompt stage.

Bleached colours on Alienware 17, Warcraft. Please help.

I'm a proud new owner of an Alienware 17. Just switched from a 2009 iMac, which is a HUGE upgrade of course in terms of World of Warcraft, only I have one issue;
On the iMac the colours in game are full, deep and warm colours, whereas on the Alienware the colours are very cool and almost bleached out. The only 'colours' setting on the Alienware seems to be 'brightness', but that's of course not doing anything for me. Within the game I also don't see any settings for this. I'm looking for example for settings for Colour balance or 'colour' etc. Like you have on a TV.
Can anyone help with this? Thanks in advance!

Dell Inspiron 15 7537 won't turn on
I am a bit of a tech head, and urged my wife to wait until the "good" touch screen haswell laptops came out. I even wrote some glowing reviews of Dell's inspiron 15 7537 after I received it ([View:www.amazon.com/.../ref=cm_cr_pr_viewpnt])
Unfortunately, just a few weeks out of warranty, the trusty laptop has stopped powering up.
The symptoms: laptop will not power up. Things I have tried:
- Making sure the power cable was plugged in (LED is on the power ring on the plug itself)
- Making sure the PC recognizes the power cable and the power adapter isn't loose (power ring brightens when plugged in)
- Trying different outlets, including several direct to wall outlets
- Removing battery and trying to power up with just power cable
- Removing battery and AC adapter, holding power for 3+ minutes to "clear static charge" as recommended by some self-help websites
- Doing above and then plugging power cable in
- One ram chip at a time
- No ram
Unfortunately nothing works. Fans don't turn on, lights don't turn on, display doesn't turn on, no noises or beeps. Other than the power ring on the plug getting brighter when I plug it in, there is no indication that the device is receiving any power.
I'm pretty bummed and hope there is a solution and/or that Dell can help make things right. The build quality of the device is so high and my wife has been very satisfied and I hope that she can get more than a year of use out of the device.

Inspiron 15R N5110 Only Works When Plugged In.
My laptop just shut down on me out of nowhere. The battery wasn't low, in fact it had just finished charging. It wouldn't turn back on until I plugged it back in and tried. The battery is at 86%, not charging. The battery indicator light flashes red 4 times, then white then off.
I assume this is a hardware issue and I have no idea what caused it. Nonetheless, I used the diagnostic tools provided and found no issue and tried a system restore to no avail.
My laptop is a few weeks out of warranty (classic) so I was wondering if anyone knew of any easy fixes.

Where can I find the BIOS images for download for a E7440
When I look under the support page for this laptop it shows no drivers updates are available
As the latest BIOS in A11, that can not be true. Can someone share where the BIOS images are located so I can download A08 and attempt to cure the keyboard issues I'm having (repeating keys).

Inspiron 13 7000 7347 - AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined
Hi guys,
Brand new Inspiron 13 7000 (7347) 2 in 1. Its just out of the box, and I'm just finishing windows updates and Dell Drivers.
I seem to be getting this error message when I boot up, maybe 10-15 % of the time
"AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined"
As with others, Press F1 to continue, F2 to check Bios, F3 to ignore this.
In bios I see <unknown power adpater> I unplug and replug the power supply and it magically comes back as <65 watts>
When this issue is occuring, the battery won't charge, it held at 91%. I also got the warning in Windows one time.
Should I take it back to the store? Is this just the power supply, or the laptop itself ?

AC Power Adapter Problem
I got a new Inspiron i3542 at the end of August and I've been having a problem with the power. I've been using the 65w adapter that came with the computer but anytime I plug it in I receive the following box:
Because I use my laptop as a desktop most of the time I have not encountered severe problems but now that I have noticed the battery is not charging. I saw a number of similar problems for other laptops, but I don't want to use the BIOS method of turning the warning off to prevent other problems such as myself doing something wrong in the BIOS. How might I try to remedy this problem?

Replacement HDD for Lattitude E6520 with full disk encryption
Hello,
I am using a Dell Lattitude E6520 and use the hardware disk encryption.
Unfortunately, the 500GB drive no longer fits my needs and I would like to switch to a 1TB drive,
but I wish to continue using encryption.
Checking on Seagate's web page turns up the 1TB SSHD ST1000LM015 which supports encryption.
Would the full disk encryption continue to work in my E6520 if I were to replace it with this drive?

XPS 13: Keyboard Button sudden not working
Hi, i own a Dell XPS 13 (2012 model)
Today when i was trying to use my XPS 13, the "Tab" "Caps Lock" and "Shift" button does not work anymore.
I have read other questions post in here and i tried to boot up to the bios and Load default setting and it couldn't work
What could possibly happen? Please help. I need this laptop for my studies purpose and this would affect my productivity :(

M3800 Touchpad Replacement
So the touchpad on my M3800 got smashed, a coworker dropped a screwdriver on it, and I've been in search of a replacement. My first call was to Dell customer service, who promptly informed me that I could not buy one from them as they do not stock them in their warehouse and I would need to get one from a third party vendor. Well, if Dell doesn't have them to sell neither to any of the 3rd parties I've looked at. Plenty advertise the part, but none actually stock or can get it. I've been patiently waiting on ebay for one to pop up. Wondering if maybe someone here has any ideas on where I could find one or maybe even has one. I've also searched for XPS 15 9530 parts as it is the same thing, but no go there either. The touchpad part number is 2HFGW.

batery not detected on inspiron N5110
After cleaning the cooler and replacing new thermal grease on CPU and Video Card my laptop does'nt regognize the battery and some USB ports (I have also instaled the USB driver). What could be the problem?

can a 4G receiver card with wifi receiver be installed in an XPS L15 521x
I have a XPS L15 521x and have poor connectivity with the installed mifi card. I have a Verizon tablet that has both 4G and mifi connections that is much stronger. Can a 4G card with mifi connectivity be install in place of the card currently in the machine.....not worried about warrenty

XPS L502X: Issues with Windows 8.1 installation
As is evident from different forums, all the issues regarding Win 8.1 installation on XPS L502X has been resolved through Windows update or driver updates. For example, the webcam issue was resolved by a Windows update in March 2014. Similarly, the NVIDIA GT 525M driver issue was resolved by an updated driver which can be downloaded from this link: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/66702/en-us.
Still Dell website shows that XPS L502X does not support Win 8.1 as can be seen from this link: http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN128811/en#XPS
Why is it so? Why is Dell not publishing the updated driver list for Win 8.1 for XPS L502X on their website?
Kindly explain. I need to be sue before investing Rs 10000 on Windows 8.1 OS.
