I have purchased my dell Inspiron N4010 3 years back. And jst before 4 months i have changed my Ac Adapter . but from last 2 days, whwnever i am connecting the Ac power Adapter to the pow cord socket it makes some noises bit.. by ...bit.. and and when connecting to the the Dell Laptop the noise increase fastly iam afraid . don't know wat to do.pls help.....

What Is The Speed of XPS Laptop SD Card Readers ???
How can I determine the max speed of my laptops SD Reader, I've looked all through the 'specs' but can not find any info on this. though I believe it is a Ricoh... Is this info anywhere on Dell's website ?
I have a Studio XPS 1647 laptop with an Internal SD card reader. I would like to use the fastest SDHC card the laptop can handle to record multitrack audio to.
I'm not sure though what speed card would be appropriate. If the laptop's reader can only read at say 30mb/sec maximum it would be unnecessary to buy the more expensive 80+ mb/sec cards.

you are not currently using a display attached to an nvidia gpu
I bought dell n5110 in 2011.i played many games.last week AW also played.but i got fan problem .(my fan is didnt turn on and lap was shutdown when overheated).then i remove motherboard and i spin fan some rounds and remove bios batary and re assemble .
then fan was turned on.then i install win 8.1 and install nvidia 340 graphic driver.but when i open nvidia settings display "you are not currently using a display attached to an nvidia gpu" then I tried different drivers-301 ,305, 320 ,327,370 but same problem have.
I also tried with win 8 same way. but have same problem.(before having those problem I have installed win 8 and i worked with it)
though I remove cimos battory bios didnt reset
Please help me with this problem.

Inspiron 17 5748 Won't Turn On
Hi,
I've had my laptop for about a three weeks now. Last night, I shut the lid to put it to sleep and went out for a few hours, leaving the lap top plugged in.
When I came home, the laptop wouldn't turn on. I looked online, found to take out the battery, hold the power button down for 30 sec, put the battery back in, then plug it in again, nothing worked.
I left the battery out over night, then did the same thing -- no go.
The computer has been plugged in for about an hour now, still nothing.
There are no lights on the laptop itself, the green light is on the AC adapter and I also plugged in the adapter into another computer and it worked with that.
Running on Windows 7, Inspiron 17 5748 -- still under warranty.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

DELL Precision M6600 BSOD, RSOD, FREEZE, RESTART
Hi,
I have problem with my Dell. I have Windows 7 Pro x64. Intel 2929XM, AMD 8900m, 8GB RAM, and Seagate XT 500GB 1.st generation. I have original adapter Dell 240W (slim edition) and i do not have battery. My Dell is without battery, LCD, Wifi.. It is only chassis with MB and ect..
I have a few problems like BSOD errror code 0x00000124 and 0x00000101.
Next is RSOD with freezing or restarting system.
Next is only freeze and i must shutdown NTB and start.
A last point is only random restart.
I first install Windows 7 x64 and i have ramdom freeze, restart and BSOD.
I flashed bios to A15. reinstall drivers.
Everything was same.
After that i install Windows 8.1 Pro
When i play World of Warcraft it was do samething.
I flash vBios and reinstall Catalyst and driver for 8900m and M6900 series for MS, but i still had RSOD.
I reinstall to Windows 7 Pro x64.
Install only drivers and directx i play first 4-5 hours i was ok but BSOD cames error 0x0000124.
I reflash vBios and reinstall chipset driver for lastest from dell. I tested chipet from Intel but it was same.
In BIOS a tested every settings. From Enable SpeedStep, Turboboost. to Disable SpeedStep, Turboboost. When i was test this thing a reinstaling ACPI driver. But I got BSOD 0x00000124 or onetimes 0x0000101.
Big point is when i enable speedstep procesor goes to 800MHz but not hight. When i disable SS, then cpu goes to 2,5Ghz. I remove dell SW for display, battery and Power Manager. Processor was on 2,5GHz but i still got BSOD.
I play World of Warcraft and it is randomly sometimes i play 3 hours and nothing and sometimes i play 10 minutes and i have freeze or BSOD.
I cleaned fans and used new thermal past. Run Memetest86 for 3cycles, Intel Burn Test for 10 hours, and GPU stress test for 3 hours with Intel Burnt Test or without.
Dell test in bios it was ok. Only battery not pass. (I do not have battery).
Please help me i tested everything as i can.

Latitude E6520 WIN 8.1 64bit , startup problem
I have recently installed the windows 8.1 pro 64bit on latitude e6520, when ever i turn on the laptop it shows the bklack screen only , and than after restarting it windows start. So every time i am starting my laptop two times.
Graphics are Nvida 4200 and intel HD300.
Please help to solve the issue.

Dell XPS 15 (9530) Caps Lock light not working
The status light associated with caps lock on the XPS 15 does not show when active. The keyboard backlighting as a whole works.
I have uninstalled then reinstalled the Dell Quickset package but that has made no difference. Is there a setting I am missing?

Dell Inspiron 7537 - Windows 10 Technical Preview
Hi,
I was using windows 10 tech preview build 9841 till now without any issue apart from the driver incompatibility for ST micro accelerometer.
Today i installed windows 10 tech preview build 9879.
Issues:
1. Driver for ST micro accelerometer is not installing.
2. Intel Graphix driver version 15.36.7.64.3960 is not installing, so version 15.36.3.64.3907 is installed.
2. The nvidia gpu is always active by default; as result battery runtime is decreased. Temperature during normal use is increased.
Has anyone installed build 9879?? Any issues??

Dell 3542 Wireless problem
Hello,
I just bought a Dell Inspiron 3542 laptop with Ubuntu 14.04 on it. There was no problem with the Wi-Fi connection. Today I installed Windows 8.1, and I can not connect to a hotspot from it. I tried to install a driver but i didn't manage to because it said: "Activate your bluetooth device using wireless switch". Then I checked my BIOS and I could not see any wireless option, neither when I updated my BIOS. When I start a live linux i can still connect to a hotspot. Any ideas?

Hard Drive Crash - no backup
The hard drive crashed on my Inspiron 1750. We purchased this laptop in 2009 with Windows 7 OS. I am trying to find a link/section on Dell site to purchase replacement Microsoft Windows 7 OS CD/DVD for my system, but so far not successful. I did not create backup OS CD/DVD when I purchased, I thought I did. Can any one point/help me....?

XPS 17 white screen
I am getting a white screen with some light blue horizontal lines. I've do a hard shut down and restart but same result. At one point I did see half of the normal start up screen but it faded away to white.

Number Pad default setting
I have recently bought a Dell Inspiron 17, 5000 series with a 17" monitor and am running Windows 8.1.
On previous laptops that I have had, when I have pressed the Number Lockkey the first time, it has activated it and it has remained active no matter how many times I turned the machine on and off, which is ideal as I have several spreadsheets running, so need to enter numbers and currencies quickly. However, the Inspiron 17 loses the Number Lock memory when it is turned off, so every time I turn it back on again I have to remember to activate it again.
Does anyone know if it is possible to apply a setting that will keep the Number Lock active, ie so when I press a number key it will work no matter how many times I turn the laptop on and off?

Keys not working on built in keyboard on my Inspiron 11
My name is Kristina, and I've been having a lot of issues with my built in keyboard. A lot of the keys stop working at random times. I have tried to reset my computer but it doesn't help. I end up having to use the touch keyboard, and I don't like to. This is also the 2nd computer I have gotten from dell, the first one had the same issue so bad we couldn't even finish the initial setup. This is getting very frustrating, and I'm about to send it back, I just don't want to. Please help.

Cooling fan - heat sink Dell Latitude E6430
Hello,
I am wondering where in Europe I can find a replacement heat sink plus fan for a Dell Latitude E6430?
It is starting to generate a bit of noise and I am considering replacing it. I find it strange that there is a procedure in the owners manual for this model to replace a heat sink and fan, but when I look on the support site of Dell Belgium (where I live), this part is not to be found anywhere to order.
Hard drives, extra memory, replacement batteries all you want, but no parts like this.
Anyone any idea (or a compatible part), preferably not second hand Ebay stuff.

Inspiron 17R constant beep after pressing power button
Hey everyone. Like many others here, I have similar issues.
My Dell 17r will not start and emits a constant, steady beeping. It is not the usual bright beep code, but more of a subdued, muffled beep. It is constant and never stops. There is no code.
I have tried all the other listed fixes or testing that has been posted in about 50 other threads. Powering off, pulling the battery, discharging the extra power, swapping memory around, etc etc.
The problem is slightly intermittent as it will sometimes boot normally. Diagnostics revealed nothing and reports everything is fine.
It doesn't appear heat related either as it can happen when dead cold after sitting for 3 days or after it has been working for an hour in diag mode.
I am at a loss. Any ideas?

Regarding motherboard

I have purchased dell inspiron 15 last year closer to june. It has not been an year i am facing problems regarding motherboard very frequently.4 months back i have just replaced the motherboard of my sytem. Now again 2 days back it starts beeping when i try to switch it on. I met the service centre people and since my warranty got over last month they told it would charge me 13000 rs for replacing the motherboard. Also, they told there wont be a guarantee for the replacement and these issues may occur frequently.
Now, what should i do?? Its a new laptop which i bought for nearly 33k and requires frequent replacements worth 13k. I am at total loss now.. Can anybody suggest me what i should do??
