Which drivers and order do I download and install?

$

Good afternoon!

I am currently reinstalling Windows 7 64-bit on an Inspiron 14r (N4110) and I do not have my reinstall disks. I was wondering if someone can give me a list of drivers I need to download as well as the order in which to install them. I inputted my Service Tag on the Drivers site but matching up the drivers order list provided to the drivers recommended is very confusing. [:S]

If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!

Strange Sound On my Laptop

I have a Dell N5110 Laptop Core i7 And recently it has been making some new sounds, I cant quite identify what it is, but I hope that it is not a huge issue, as I use this laptop quite a bit. The sound i can not quite able to be described, I guess as a bit of a Whirring? Sound.  I know it is coming from the left side of my laptop, and at times i can feel it as well. It kind of reminds me of a motor struggling a little bit, I guess? What I am hoping is that it is a fan issue, and not a hard drive, as it will kick on and off, instead of constant. Any Help would be greatly appreciated, as well as any tricks to get into there, without having to deal wtih the keyboard, as it is a pain to remove.

Intel Management Engine driver

Hello.

There is a couple of months now since this issue started and I've trying a lot of different approaches without success.

An warning message from McAfee keep coming and it get the keyboard and mouse focus for a few seconds each time. Sometimes it also freezes some process running, such as database queries.

The warning message, sometimes come with a second error warning from McAfee (it looks like it has being disabled while the first issue happens).

Here is the complete error message:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your device is not protected

There's a problem with the Intel Management Engine Interface Driver.
Please try:
- Updating your device drivers.
- Downloading and installing the Intel Management Engine Interface driver from your device manufacturer's website.
- Contacting your device manufacturer.
_________________________________________________

I tried update and downloading. It took me some time because even downloading the drivers directly from Dell.com website, the drivers kept getting an error and not completing the installation.

So, now it was completely installed and the error message from McAfee continues. Sometimes, after the turn on my laptop, I have to start manually McAfee firewall and anti-virus protection.

I'm using a Inspiron 15R 7520 with windows 8.1 complete updated.

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks.

Dell Inspiron 1545 -- Full Recovery E: Folder - Help

My Recovery E: Folder is full -- 31.9MB free of 14.6GB - Windows Vista. I keep getting pop ups/messages saying that my E: folder is almost full, and occasionally that I should close my internet browser so I don't lose information.

I've checked out other forums and discussions about how to fix this problem but none have worked so far. Some of them said to go into the E: folder and delete files which should be there (can't access it the folder -- there's only a warning message) or to change the Drive Letter (get a message that says it cannot remove "the letter drive of your volume", and now I'm not sure what I should do next. Help??

Dell XPS 14Z Service Tag Not Supported

Hi,

My version of Roxio Creator Starter was corrupted yesterday (could not find some DLL) and the recommended fix was to re-install the software.

When I tried to re-download the software off My Dell Downloads, I found that my service tag was not supported.  Dell's FAQs told me that this was because my system doesn't have anything available for download from My Dell Downloads.

More to the point, I would like to get Roxio Creator Starter back.  I was led to believe that I could do this through My Dell Downloads, but that isn't working.

Precision m4400 won't boot. Flashing caps lock LED

My laptop won't boot. I press the power button, the power button lights and I hear the system fan run. Then it shuts off and the caps lock LED flashed about 20 times, then turns off if under battery power. If on AC power then the LED stays steady after flashing. Screen never turns on. Late yesterday and late today the computer started hanging. Usually a restart would fix it for a short while. But now it's dead dead. I suspected overheating so I did a bit of digging and figured out how to remove and clean the fan intake. It's was clogged up pretty good, but that hasn't fixed the problem and the laptop is now cool to touch on the bottom.

What could be the problem? What steps can and should I take to fix it?

random beeping

Hey, I have had my alienware 17 for a couple of months now and kind of recently I keep hearing this beeping from the hardware (not speakers). I have no idea what causes it or where exactly it is coming from. It never comes with another computer issue, such as freezing or anything like that. I tried to listen for it and see if it happened when something else happened or when I did something but I can't find a correlation at all. I googled it and I couldn't find much on the subject but someone said that their hdd would beep when the head stopped and that might be a warning flag or something. But I am not sure if it's that or not. I also looked at the reliability history to check if the beeping was going with some errors but it never does. I even check the reliability history right when it beeps to see if something was just added and again nothing added there. At this point the beeping is a small worry for me that worse things may come and a small annoyance. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you

Jacob

E7420 shutting down when docking/undocking

$

We have a user whose Latitude E7240 shuts down every time she tries to dock or undock her laptop.  We have replaced the motherboard and both docks that she uses.  The problem disappeared after she worked, undocked, several days from home.  She returned to work and was able to dock/undock with no issues.

The issue reappeared again today, after 2 days at the office.

Not sure if anyone else is having this issue.  I have another motherboard, and can replace again, but not sure that the motherboard is the issue.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  If you need more info, please feel free to ask.

Inspiron 11z Partitions preventing boot of back up replacement HDD

$

Trying to make a replacement recovery disk for this mini laptop.

1st Failure:

Did an Acronis 11 image of the C:.  BOOTMGR missing error.

2nd failure:

Found that there were 2 other partitions ahead of the C:\ partition.

1st partition = 39 MB and marked OEM Partition

2nd partition = 14.65 GB - Healthy(Active,Primary Partition) contains the bootmgr file

3rd partion = 283.4 GB - Healthy(Primary Partition) contains the OS

Elsewhere in these forums i found it stated that the 1st partition is for Dell Diagnostics - invoked at start up w F12, so thinking i do not need that i created a new image with the 2nd and 3rd partions. I still get the  BOOTMGR missing error even though i have confirmed that what is now the 1st partition contains the bootmgr file with the exact number of bytes as the original?

Do I need that diagnostics partition in place for some reason in order for the system to boot properly, or do i have a different problem?

And on a slightly different issue, I was not able to turn on a drive letter so i could see the contents of the "diagnostics" partition.  Is that normal?

Could having a drive letter assigned to the Recovery partition have any negative impact other than the possibility that a file in that partition might accidentally be changed or deleted?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Webcam Central for Inspiron 3542

There is no webcam software for Inspiron 3542 in "Drivers & Downloads" section of product support. I found this page, which suggested downloading Webcam Central from another page. When I tried to access it yesterday, it required using Internet Explorer, so I launched it and got an error, while "My account" looks like this: Today it shows "Website is temporarily down for maintenance" message in both Firefox and IE.

How can I get Webcam Central? Should I use third-party sources? Why wasn't it placed in "Drivers & Downloads?

Latitude E-6520 Windows Professional 8.1 x64 | BSOD IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal | Reboot On Sleep / Wake | Page Fault In Nonpaged Area

I am experiencing all of the issues listed in the title of this thread. Fortunately, I have seen that this is a common problem with this and similar laptop models. Unfortunately, I have not found any definite solution(s) to fix the problem(s): just a bunch of similar issues and hit-or-miss solutions posted about tech forums. I'm not one to spray and pray when it comes to serious troubleshooting, so I have come here for assistance.

Again, the main problems:

  • BSOD: " IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal"
  • BSOD "Page Fault In Nonpaged Area"
  • BSOD: "Error - Needs to Restart" whenever coming out of sleep-mode.

Thanks ahead of time for the help.

M4800 Screen swapping

$

Hi guys, I'm in the process of buying an used Dell Precision M4800.

I have however an important question, I would like to be able to swap out the old screen (res. 1366x768) with a FullHD panel (res.1920x1080).

I have noticed that some sites sell it, my question in the following:

Will I be able to swap it out without problems? The M4800 BIOS will accept it or there are some issues (hardware blacklist like some Lenovos/HP etc.)?

Any experiences?

Thank you very much!
