After I was forced to upgrade to Microsoft 8.1 I'm having a problem with the mouse that is driving me crazy.

Constantly (just intervals about seconds) the mouse pointer get inactive and take me out of the window I'm working on. I need to click again on the window to activate it and keep either writing or browsing. Is not a pointer jump, just get like inactive and unselected the target window until I click again.

I updated the Cypress Trackpad driver according to the suggested by Dell System Analysis. The mouse is the wireless Logitech M510 although the problem happens too when using the Trackpad. Is not a Trackpad sensitive issue, I have made some test "hands completely out the Laptop" and the problem is there. 

Any suggestion on how to solve this really major issue ?

My laptop is Dell Inspiron 14z 5423 / Service Tag : 34L6NT1

Here is my problem

My laptop don't boot from hard disk or USB boot anymore , It only run BIOS then restart and run again like a loop, no error message or any sound.

I ran the Diagnostic in boot option menu, it tell me my hard disk was fail, all of another are OK.

So i removed hard disk and put it in my  PC , it work correctly 100%.

I try to boot from USB disk but it don't work, but it can boot from CD driver, my Hirent Boot CD.

So what is my problem and how to fix it. Thanks for help.

Hi,

My Bluetooth stopped working suddenly while working. The Bluetooth icon is not visible on the task tray. I tried starting it from the All programs but it's not starting. Please help. I am using Windows 7.

The device manager is not showing any Bluetooth device. I have tried different forums for my problem, but till now not managed to find a solution. Please help.

Hi, 

I faced this problem this morning, I was using the laptop normally and then i put it to sleep, 30 mins later i tried to open the laptop and this problem happened.

White screen when i open the laptop, and 8 continuous beeps, repeatedly.

Hello

I have an Alienware M14x R2 laptop.

It runs Windows 8 ~64 Bit. Windows 8 works perfectly fine on that laptop but when i try to upgrade it to windows 8.1, the problems start...

First problem: Everything runs smoothly but after 10-40 minutes(Either being idle or doing every days work things) the vents turn into max and CPU goes to 100%(all cores), Process Explorer/Process Monitor/Task manager/Core Temp, shows that CPU-s are running at 100% but nothing in the process list takes almost any process at all(they only take regular amount)

After about 30-60 seconds of running at 100% the whole laptop freezes..

It has already gone through warranty once and there it was claimed that everything is fine and they just restored Factory Settings which i also did yesterday.. I have had this problem for many months now thus i can't do much with the laptop if it has windows8.1 on.

I have googled the answer for this problem and the results i got was "Turn off Turbo boost and turn off fast boot" which did also not help.

Second Problem: It Throws so many blue screen errors that involves memory, yet the warranty checked it and memory has no issues.

I do not know if this is the right forum section to post this but would really want to know what exactly is wrong with the laptop. I have the latest Drivers on the laptop downloaded from official site.

I fear that Dell Alienware M14x R2 just does not support windows8.1...

Hello ,
I bought a Dell Inspiron N5110 two years ago , I alway use it when both battery and the charge plugin . This morning i used it as usual , the battery icon still appear plugged in , but now it appear like the picture below . I have unplug the battery and use the charge to start the laptop , but it doesn't respond ( the light of the charge still appear) , only when I plug the battery in . i have checked the BIOS and see at the Battery Adapter appears : NONE . Does my mainboard having problem ? what should i do next ?

Hello;

I order a M4800 system over the weekend and while I wait for delivery I'm looking into accessories.

I ordered my system with the WiGig card, cover and option to have the option of using it in the living room, but I irdered the hardwired plus port for my desk, since I can't afford teething problems on WiGig technology corrupting my files.

I have a question about the D5000 design: has it been recently re-done. If so, how? What different/better on the K1M51 compared with the GMM97 (old part #). All Dell sales was willing ti tell me is the K1M51 (the one Dell sells today) is newer and better. Nothing else.

Can someone from Dell please clarify this topic?

I just ordered my M4800 system with WiGig, with requires this card:

Dell Wireless 1601 2x2 802.11n+BT+60GHz (WiGig)

Reading forums I'm very concerned now that despited what I was told by Dell's sales rep; this card doesn't support the 4.0 standard for Bluetooth 

Can someone please comment on that? What BT std is supported with this ward and what are the known issues?

Incidentally: Qualcomm is all about tripple band wi-fi. Why did Dell have to drop 801.11ac support in order to support 60 GHz (WiGig) in the card?

Hey there folks, I just got my new Inspiron 15 7000 the other day and its great apart from this little niggle.

I have the version with 16gb memory and the NVIDIA GeForce® GT 750M 2GB DDR5 grahics card.

The problem is this: I usually have the brightness setting quite low due to my environment, I also have the auto screen dimming setting off but I still get flickering on the screen.  Usually when I move the cursor or type something.  Its not limited to any one program, just a general issue.  I read up about the refresh rate and the drivers but i cant seem to find a solution.

Any help appreciated, thanks.

I've had the Inspiron 15R SE for less than two years and I've already had the hard drive and motherboard die on me. I don't know if this has been an issue with this laptop since I first received it or just since the hard drive was replaced, but whenever I try to put my computer into Sleep or Hibernate mode, it basically just shuts down instead. It doesn't matter if I do it manually through the Windows button or if I just close the lid. I have my settings set to go into Sleep mode when I hit the power button or close the lid. The screen will go black and the power button with flash, but when I try to turn it on, it basically reboots and when it finally finishes, any programs or windows I left open are not longer running. I've updated the BIOS and troubleshooted everything I could but I can't find a solution to this issue. I've gone through the settings and there's nothing in there that I can find that would cause this. Anyone have any suggestions?

hi guys,

since yesterday i started having this problem. i was updating my drivers for Inspiron 15r SE 7520 (with 32GB of mSSD) and the problem occurred in intel Rapid Storage Technology. computer needed a restart and the last message it showed in the notification area was Intel RST is not running and then it turned off. 

when it tried to come back on it started showing BSOD with iaStor.sys error. i cannot start in any mode!

repair your computer fails as the progress bar is filling up --ending up in BDOS

safe mode results in the same way and a restart.

dell recovery DVD isnt being recognised.

i tried to repair windows but it fails to recognise the HDD/partitions. 

i really dont want to lose the data on this computer all my University work and very important files are on this computer.

if there was any way of going back to the desktop i'd go back to the older drivers/software and leave everything alone.

it is unbelievably frustrating, sorry for being so long winded.

please help! i'd appreciate it very much.

I need to update my BIOS. I"m on version A04 and A15 is out. I need to update to V07 first, however, it's not available on Dell's website. The olderst versionis A09. I'm out of Warranty so I doubt Dell will tell me where to find the driver. Does anyone else know how to find it?

Hello. I have a blank screen when I turn on my laptop.

I've tried to trouble shoot it by draining the battery and then plugging a external power source back in and this seems to not do the trick. I've done this 6 times.

I've tried starting up the computer by holding down the D key and the colour test comes up and it cicles through every colour perfectly.

So I tried to change the RAM sticks and move their slots around but this made no difference at all.

I've tried an external monitor and it won't display. The monitor can't find the connection even though I know the cord is fine and working because I use it for my desktop.

Has anyone got any other possible solutions to try or any clue what could.be wrong?

My XPS 12.5 screen has gone and tech support in India is saying it will be repaired I have bought from US like to know what is the procedure in US. 

I had a worst experience of buying the  XPS 12.5 faced multiple hardware issue Question arise what type of product R&D and testing has been done before rolling out. Frustrated.

i am currently in possession of an old Lattitude E4310. it was formerly a work machine from Oracle. it is currently running Ubuntu 14.04 because i cannot install windows on it. every time i try, it will work fine until i reboot the computer, at which point windows seems to delete itself with no error messages (aside from a boot failure). attempting to restore windows will show that the backups slowly disappear. i have disabled the TPM and that seems to have had no effect. i have also replaced the hard drive. again, no effect.

any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

I have this funny problem:

- I hate silver/light gray finish of non-touch e7440 but prefer it's matte screen over glossy touch screen.

- I like visuals of E7440 touch with it's dark grey and carbon.

Therefore I plan to buy e7440 touch and if I won't be happy with the glossy screen, I would like to retro-fit a standard non-touch matte screen. Is it possible (screen back lids are the same in case of touch and non-touch models) or are there some physical differences between the screens and carbon/non-carbon lids?
