Hi,

I bought a xps 15 16 GB Hard drive Toshiba 1TB hard drive MSATA32GB . http://www.dell.com/ca/p/xps-15-9530/pd?oc=nxps154_bt_h1602e&model_id=xps-15-9530

When a use my laptop I hear a noise from the hard drive, like a little click and it appear like 5 times in 1 minute. But when I use my hard drive a lot, like I’m transferring data on it, I hear like 5-10 in 10 seconds. These are distinct, I’m not talking about the normal background sound of the hard drive working.

Somebody can tell me if it’s a normal sound for that computer?

So this computer is mid 2012, it's been used, scratched, dinged and I'm not expecting to see factory new.  Having said that it's been pretty well taken care of and everything works fine, no major cosmetic damage, etc.

I've opened the case once, the day I got it to replace the HDD with a Samsung SSD.  Otherwise been totally sealed.

As time went on this past year, I've noticed more and more the fan will kick into high gear while doing simple tasks like browsing the web, and my thighs will slowly start roasting even through a padded laptop table.

Figured I'd have somebody check the fans for dust, and maybe replace the thermal paste.  I've heard of it occasionally hardening/crustifying.

I am at a loss for words...

I build desktops, and can't imagine how this could possibly happen other than coming out of the factory like this.  Has anybody ever encountered anything like this before?  Any reason I should ever buy or recommend a Dell product ever again?  This was supposed to be a top of the line model...

I've been building desktops since Pentium 4 and never seen anything like this from any vendor.

Can someone tell me what this runs at out of the box, it's saying it can run (up to 3.1 GHz), but what does it run at out of the box?

I have a bit of a problem here. I live in the Philippines, and was told I could not get any product support from the US. Does anyone have a URL or link, phone number etc, where I can order a new WLAN card, mine burned out...Thanks I have a Dell Studio 1569...I'm using a USB WIFI device for the time being...

hi,

I have a pink horizontal line on the bottom of the screen. I did an LCD test (D+power on). The pink line disappears when the background is white, and the line is visible in other colors. Just wanted to know whether its a software or hardware error, and what should i do for it?

Hi,

this Laptop does nto come with anoptical drive, but there is a space for one. Does anyone know if you can get either

A, An internal optical drive for this laptop

or

B, An interna drive bay adaptor to allow fitment of a second HDD or SSD

My Dell Inspirion 15r has developed a really annoying issue.

When running on battery mode (Yet to test on a/c power) the screen will randomly increase in brightness and then decrease instantly. (Almost like a flash)

This happens at random occasions so not constantly but in a 10 minute period it probably happens 6-7 times.

Ive checked and updated the video driver and chipset driver and disable the adaptive brightness settings, however the issue still remains.

In regards to the dell intelligent display option I can't tell if this actually has fully disabled.

Laptop is running windows 8.1 OS.

Any help is appreciated.

Inspiron N4110 had water spilled on it while powered up. Single beep cope repeated every few seconds. Only response is the initial noise from the DVD player. Question: are there any tricks to try before declaring it DOA?

Hello,

Latitude E6410, changed a bad HD for a new one. Installed windows 7. Besides having issues with WIFI and USB drivers, I cannot do a windows update, it shows a big red X, message I get is

" Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You many need to restart your computer"

I updated the bios, and rebooted like 15 times. Options please

Everyone:  Absolutely cannot boot from CD-DVD even if I turn OFF Secure Boot and UEFI and my machine lists my CD-DVD as a boot option.  When I then try to boot from the CD-DVD, I get an error message.  (Optiplex 7010 Mini-Tower with Win 8 Pro 64-bit, an Intel i5 3470 processor, 8 GB RAM and 500 GB hard drive.  It has BIOS version A16 right now.)

Hi! I have an old (nearly 5 years) Inspiron 17r N7010 laptop. It was fine last night when I went to bed. I just got home from work today, (a difference of approx. 15 hours), and now it won't power on. I looked up online, found instructions that said to unplug the power adapter and unseat the battery, press and hold the power button for ten seconds, then reseat the battery, plug the adapter back in and press the power button. So I did that. 4 times, and I've still got nothing. Things to know: I run Windows 7, the battery holds next to no charge (been way a year), when I plug in the adapter, the indicator light for the battery flashes on, then nothing. It's there anything else I should do?

hi ,
         I have been using Dell Insipiron N5110 for 3 Years, recently i noticed when that whenever i try to use Bluetooth for transferring Data , my Laptop freezes for a moment &shows the Blue Screen Of Death and restarts.

      So i checked the Device Manager and noticed the "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" with the yellow exclamation mark and the driver not found.

        I need help to resolve the problem, i tried installing Bluetooth drivers from the originally provided Dell Drivers CD and i am confused on which driver to download from the official Dell driver Download Support Center.

I put the laptop to sleep and closed the lid. Less than an hour later I attempted to boot it back up, but it won't turn on. I figured at first the battery had simply just died while asleep, so I plugged it in for a long time (1+ hours) and tried to power it on. Unfortunately, this did nothing. When plugged into the charger, the charging indicator on the laptop glows, but when I try to turn it on, nond of the other lights turn on. I have tried holding the power button numerous times (with and without the charger plugged in).

I cant switch on any wireless functions like bluetooth or wifi. The switch of wifi are looked like inactive, and i cant click on them, i tried by installing the drivers, but i cant get any solution. Suggest me what could i do.

Has anyone had a cracked screen on Venue 11 Pro tablet and replaced it ?  I cannot seem to find parts and they want more to fix than the price of a refurbed one.  The tablet still works with a keyboard, but not touchscreen ?  

As an aside, Dell messed up the owners name/email of my tablet and now they will not help me at all. The name/email was correct when I first called waranty support, but they created a case # and referred me to out-of-warranty group. When called them, they told me I do not own the tablet and they cannot help me.

Need help !!!!  My   E7240  got stucks in bios. The screen just display  a Dell logo and a blue bar at the bottom

1. If I hit F2 when power on then screen displays "Prepare to enter Setup..." on the top right corner then hang up

2. If I hit F8  when power on then it tell me to hit F12, Hit F12: the screen display "Preparing to onetime setup"  on the to right corner then  hang up.

I tried everything, remove Ram, remove SSD but still no luck.

What should I do next ?
