Has anyone had this issue or know how to fix it? Since day one, our R17's touchpad does not work. It has a mind of its own...it skips, it jumps, it will not work. Also, the size of the font changes on it's own...it magnifies to 150% or more every time we use it.
Dell has tried to fix it, even sending a refurbished model. Still, it does not work!!!!! I never use it, because it has never worked properly, but today I did. I suspect my husband, whose computer this is, thinks that the skipping etc, is user error, as he types with 2 fingers. After Dell sent the refurbished computer, I think his mind set, too, may be that he's tired of complaining without a fix. He rarely uses this computer. It is NOT user error, it is the laptop. Dell diagnostics by the way, says it has no issues.
To own a computer that does not, nor ever has worked properly is maddening. Has anyone else had this particular issue with this computer? Is there any way to fix it?
To buy a new computer and never have it work is not acceptable. I don't know what to do, but it would not be fair to have to pay to fix something that has never worked in the first place. We need a working computer! Our family has been so loyal to Dell, but this computer may be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
