I Bought Dell XPS 15 9530 Laptop, problem is too high Graphic. If i reduced Resolution it doesn't fit for screen. and remote connection desktop even way too small couldn't work out. it's really annoying everything is too small due to high graphic and resolution ( 3200 X 1800 ) [:(]

Some people used to say maybe it will work if i downgrade to windows 7 and i tired to install it but driver could't found in boot menu to select a partition. My self i created a new partition to test it.( 30 GB ) 

So How can I format install dual Boot along with windows 8 ( Currently Running with the system )

Dell 7110 17R keeps dropping wireless connection. Need to go through the Network Adapter reset process in the trouble shooting section or have to restart to get wireless again. It does this at random times. It just started about 3 months ago for no reason, haven't installed anything or updated anything. I have tried to do a driver update but that was to no avail. My wife's 15R has no problems staying connected, so that puts it in the 17R's lap and verifies the home network is sound as well. So where do I start to correct this issue.

And by the way I get a ERROR screen, Service Tag Not Recognized too. Bear with me and talk simple as I'm not a computer wiz kid......lol.

Hi,

Today a tech came by to replace the cable of my lcd screen because they thought it was broken. After we replaced it the laptop didn't start still. The tech called dell and they are going to pick it up tomorrow for repair. The last chance too because today is my LAST day of warranty.

After he left I took it apart and put it back together again and it works perfectly now. I tried for 2 hours to get the problem back but it continues to work perfectly.

Should I let them pick up my perfectly fine laptop. Im so worried the laptop will give the problem again tomorrow when Im out of warranty. It has worked before like the problem was gone and had it come back again the next day.

Hi,

after reinstall quickset driver (reinstalled sound driver and maxxaudio disappear, so i reinstall quickset too) i cant enable keyborad backlit on my dell inspirion 7537. Backlight button just doesn't working and bios says keyboard model: None (previously it says Backlit keyboard). I've update bios, but it doesn't done anything. Also, windows mobile center says there is no backlit.

p.s other fn keys works fine.

model: Dell Inspiron 7537 (i5-4200U, without touchscreen)

os: windows 8.1 x64 SL ENG

Hello. 

I want to upgrade my Win7  to W8.1 and also add an SSD that can do OPAL2.0 IEEE1667 etc. 

Can this laptop do UEFI/Secureboot  ?  I am running A12 currently.  and would like to use SED/Bitlocker in H/W mode instead of sofrware encryption 

Searching the net shows possibilities but no definitive answers.

My laptop was overheating,so to check if there was dust between fan and ventilator I removed palm rest. I followed steps from the user manual.I also removed the HDD which was unnecessary though but now it is not getting detected. I got some error message when it tried to boot from network I disabled Integrated NIC but then I found out It showed Fixed HDD  None. BIOS is not detecting it. I tried to run diagnostics It asked HDD not detected continue?

HDD was working well. It did not showed any symptoms of failing when I recently checked. I kept it on table like 10 minutes. Thats all.
I am running live ubuntu session from USB drive for a moment.

Hi I bought Dell L502X in 2011 and till now it was working fine. Since few days I used to see warning to change my battery. However it was working when I kept it on charging while using laptop.

2 days back when I started my machine it was not able to pass Dell logo screen and keeps on restarting. I ran the system diagnostic and found below error

Error 3600:0853 Primary battery  - the battery can not provide sufficient power.

I removed the battery and tried starting my machine with AC adaptor only and even then I am facing the same issue.

can somebody please help me on this. I would highly appreciate any suggestion.

my dell inspiron 1121 keypad is causing some issues wherein there are a lot of beeps when i start my computer.

I have identified teh issue with the right side pointer which  keeps pressing  which i have disabled with sharpkey.

I need to know  how to go in for a clean up or to know if the keypad needs to be replaced.
becasue even at the bios stage the right side pointer doesnt rest and keeps on moving from one item to the other.

I also wanted to know if the keycaps can be removed of the dell 1121 for a clean up

i bought a new mouse dell ms111 usb optical mouse

when i connect it to my pc or laptop both running windows 8.1. after 1-2 min of connecting the red light(backside of mouse) goes off and the pointer stops but the trackpad works completely.

again i disconnect & connect nothing happens but when i press the scroll wheel or scroll the wheel again the mouse starts.

when i continue scrolling the mouse wheel the mouse starts -stops-starts stops.

so do you think its driver problem or i replace my mouse. anyways anybody can provide the link for drivers of this mouse. i wanna give a try installing the drivers before replacing. if you cant find windows 81 drivers provide me windows8 or windows 7 drivers.

i googled it but not found anything. please help and thanks in advance

I purchased a Latitude CPi-R series from the Shopgoodwill.com website. It has a BIOS password set.

The screen reads "<ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>".

Hi,

I'm considering purchasing an XPS13, as it really fits the specs of what I'm looking for (powerful, portable, long battery life).  I tend to do a fair bit of reserach before buying a laptop, and have come across the "coil whine" issue on the XPS 13.

Can anyone confirm whether the updated board replacement solved this problem? Or anyone who has bought this laptop in September 2014, whether it makes the high-pitched whining noise?

Also, is anyone having overheating issues with this laptop? (A common issue on the XPS14z, for instance, which I own)

Hello everyone,

I bought a mini PCI-E Avermedia TV tuner (model A317) to use in my Precision M4600, but the card is not being detected (not showing in device manager or in any other form known to me). The card is deteced and works fine in another laptop of mine (ASUS N50VN). And I also tested if the slot was working on the M4600 by taking the Intel wireless mini half card that was already on the laptop and putting that into the full-sized mini PCI-E slot that I was testing the Avermedia card on..and it detects it with no problem. So everything works. Nothing is broken. Anyone know what could be the problem? Is there some setting I have to change some where? I have a feeling it could be the BIOS firmware that controls this.

I have an Inspiron 1300 -- few years old. I just removed all my files, and rebooted. The problem I have been having is that I can see and connect to WiFi networks (both home and outside). However, I cannot get the machine to connect to the internet. 

Any ideas/suggestions?

Hi,

This is my work laptop and it's the most annoying Dell I ever had (xps 15 2000 Euro's!)
Story so far:
Within one year I brought it back to support twice!! First time to change a  HD, which was waisted, and the second time was about a display malfunction (red pixels all over the screen).

Greatest part of the second time was, that I got it back with Win8.1 ITALIAN???????

Anyway, now we are 4 months further and during a M$ streaming event suddenly a blue screen hit me with the message:
"Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you (0% complete)
blah blah ERROR: KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR

As expected, the damn thing won't boot, it freezes in the DELL startup screen. I can't get into 'Bios' not 'BootOptions'.

My warranty has expired for 2 months now, but I guess it would be pointless to send it over to Dell, as I would expect a Chines OS in return...

Anyway, what do you think. HD again(?!) perforated......Any chance of recovery?

This is my laptop from work. I need it, as all my projects are stored on it, and no, I don't have everything backed up in the cloud.

My guess is that the HD is broke again.

I have Inspiron 15R SE 7520

My problem is that my current resolution is 1366x786 and I want it to be 1920x1080 however, I tried changing it from the settings but its shown "1366x786 Recommended". I tried reinstalling the recommended drivers for AMD Redeon and Intel HD 4000 but there was no change.

Could anyone help me fix this problem?

I have an mid 2013 R18 with Windows 8.1.  If I set Desktop Mode Battery Charge the system uses the battery power instead of the AC Power when the AC power is plugged in.  The power button is blue indicating a fully charged battery but the battery level indicator in the Windows tray went steadily down and the battery power profile was active.  When it reached 22% I turned Desktop mode off, but it still continues to drain the battery.  It is now at 15%.  I hope that when it reaches 0 it will start to charge again and that me system does not go into automatic hibernation when it reaches 5%.  Will update later with what happens.

I bought a dell laptop with windows 8.1 for my daughter who just turned 10.  Evidently, the battery died and she thought she messed up so she didn't tell me until I asked her about the computer.  I bought a new battery and started the computed but she can't remember the password. Can anyone how to retrieve or redo a password??

I bought a new motherboard a while ago (I will display specs on the bottom of this description). I put the motherboard in the PC case and hooked everything together. I turn it on but there is no display, BUT everything is still running in the computer case. Fans are spinning, HDDs are spinning, everything. I notice that if I wait 3-20 minutes the computer will make one short beep and then boot into the BIOS. Once I get not the BIOS, I cannot use any peripherals that are attached to the USB ports or the PS/2 ports. But the computer wil boot into the windows 7 installation disc like normal, it just takes several minutes to do so. I have done everything I could to troubleshoot this computer. I have reseated RAM, tried different RAM, used different PSUs, tried 2-3 processors, tried 3 graphics cards, tried plugging and unplugging HDDS drives, and yet it will stil do the same thing no matter what I do. Here are the specs to my computer:

G41M-P33 Combo motherboard DDR2/DDR3

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz

NVidia GeForce 9500 GT

DDR3 8GB

Not sure what brand the power supply is but it is 1000W

4 SATA HDDs

Now computer booted into windows installation disc and I can't use my USB mouse and keyboard or my PS/2 mouse and keyboard.

Motherboard is brand new out of the box.

I have been using my laptop XPS 14Z for 3 years now. My AC adaptor supplied with it was working fine till yesterday. Now suddenly the laptop gives a message that it doesn't identify the AC Adaptor & hence battery is not charging, though otherwise laptop is working bypassing the battery

How come while the ac adaptor powers the laptop but fails to charge the battery
