I am seriously considering buying the Dell Inspiron 7000 series laptop.

Here is a link for anyone who wants to look further into the laptop:

MY QUESTION:

I want to buy a laptop that I can upgrade the following things:

• The hard drives
• The video card
• The ram
• M-sata drive
• Wireless WIFI card
• Bluetooth card

Is this laptop capable of being upgraded like this? Which Dell Inspiron 7000 will I need to buy to be able to change or upgrade the video card, or to be able to do any of the things above?

If you scroll down on the link I gave you, you will see there are a lot of different Dell Inspiron 7000's.

Mine laptop wont power on normally.

The issue is when i hit the power button. I can head the optical drive starting . But i got no screen or power led. I there are also non BIOS beeps.

Already swapped memory hdd ect. The issue startend after chaning thermal paste on the CPU. Can it be the thermaal pad on the gpu? Or somthing else.

Hi,

My Dell XPS 17 LX702 (TAG - <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>) laptop is getting too much hot on the lower right top side of the base. This is happening specifically when I open graphics intensive applications (watching movies on YouTube, Playing games etc).  I am suspecting that it could be related to the lack of sufficient heat sink compound on the graphics card.

Is there any way I can get it fixed?

Is there any Dell Service Center in Naperville, Illinois, USA (Zip 60563) where I can take my laptop for getting this fixed?

I have a Dell Inspiron M501R noteook (model: 5010-9733, Service Tag: 61FZKP1, Express service code: 13148014213). Three weeks ago notebook stopped working. When I turned it on, only 7 times beeped and nothing further. I found in the code table that 7 beeps means error of Processor. I assumed that the processor is damaged because the notebook is very often heated. I bought a new processor (the original: AMD Turion II N530, the new AMD Phenom II N870) and I changed it. Including the new thermal compound. But still only 7x beeps. I've exhausted my options and I need professional help now. Just wanted to say more: I noticed now that when I put a power cable to the laptop the power light on front of laptop isn’t on.

Can someone advise me what could be the problem?

I cannot open Local Disk C, System Recovery, Restore from Image, File History, Reset my PC, anything to be downloaded. Tells me "Access Denied." The only thing that I can do is surf the web. Tried every wy I culd think of to reboot system.  Getting really frustrated. Also cannot open Troubleshooters, Device Manager. Basically cannot make ANY changes to my PC.

This is a HUGE CRY FOR HELP!!!!!!

two days before i had installed an frontech wirelss mouse now my laptop(inspiron 5520) doesn't boot up properly it beeps 13 sometimes longer and ask to select os ie windows 7(i have only one os)

in bootup if i hold f2 then it startup normally

please suggest me the solution

i hd chckd battery removal procedure and held diagnostic(it doesn't show any problem)

Want to know whether the my battery is original DELL battery or not.

I red everything that was said in this topic, so basically msata is only sata2? Okey can work with that, can it be that a 128 gigs msata would work just fine? For example it is said that this model works only with 8 gigs of ram, but i am currently using 12 gigs and it works just fine...

What are the chances that it would work fine?

And about that dummy slot, it just doesn't make any sense... Why in earth would you put it there with no connectors?? Just so you could make a SE edition and charge it more? Anyways it looks like a very bad idea..

I can get that carry for ssd instead of optical drive, and can that work well with a hdd? 

Again, its complete nonsense to remove my optical drive when i have a perfect slot for another hdd, just that dell didn't think it would be nice to put connectors there..

Hi everyone :)

About two years ago I bought Dell Inspiron N7720:

CPU: I7-3610QM (2,3 - 3,3GHz);

HDD: 1TB Hard drive Seagate M8 Spinpoint ST1000LM024 HN-M101MBB

RAM: 2x8GB DDR3, 1600MHz

Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M, 2GB; and Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 - I guess, that is with the CPU

DVD: Matshita DVD+-RW UJ8D1

I know, that in the case there is place for second Internal Hard Drive. I'm waiting to buy Seagate M9T Spinpoint ST2000LM006 which is 2TB. My question is: Will work OK this Hard Drive as a second on my Dell Inspiron N7720?

The second question is: Can I upgrade my Video card from  NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M (2GB) with

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M SLI (4GB) ?

Guys,

My companies sell off its dell laptops for a donation to charity after there warranty period expires.  They wipe the operating system because they load a corporate licenced copy of windows over the OEM version that comes with the laptop.

I have the product key for the version of windows that was originally loaded, but I do not know if it was Windows Professional, Home and Student or Ultimate.  How do I find out?

SPECS WORTH NOTING:

Model: Inspiron 17R 7

CPU: intel i5 4500u

GPU: NVIDIA GTX 750M

So I have an Dell Inspiron 17 7737 ( full metal ) and I've been gaming on it a little more than I should be lately (Visiting friends in foreign cities , which also like to game ) and recently it's been getting noticeably hotter than a couple months ago both in normal use and under load ( also CPU fan kicks in at higher speeds which indicate that the CPU/GPU is running hot ) , so I wanted to know if I could get to the CPU / GPU and put Arctic MX-4 Cooling Past on it rather than the stock Dell stuff which I would imagine wouldn't be as nice as MX-4; without voiding warranty? Otherwise, should I just take it into Best Buy ( where I purchased it ) and get them to deal with it? 

The laptop seems to sit around 60 degrees in room temp when just browsing the internet ( and writing this post) , which is only 40 less than the TJMax at 100, which I'd imagine with the combination of the GPU being in use while gaming, the 2 would probably be sitting very close to their TJMax operating temps! ( I haven't had the Laptop overheat on me yet )
I believe I read somewhere that someone was told by Dell that he could do that himself without voiding anything, but if that was true or not, is up to the internet :P

I have a Dell Studio-Hybrid which following a computer crash now fails to recognise the printer (Dell V305 Inkjet).

Computer back to normal following repair work but technician cannot resolve the printer issue.  Up to date drivers successfully reloaded, USB port tested-zero.

He thinks the problem is likely to be one of hardware itself-the suggested Dell self-repairs and fault tracing i.e removing power cable/USB cable/rebooting etc are unsuccessful.

Would any one out there have any further suggestions?  I would be very pleased to hear from you.

Hi guys,

I have the Dell Studio 1537 and I have two issues I would like to ask about.

1. Since I bought the laptop, the media (light) buttons aren't functioning properly. The media player-button isn't working at all, and after I upgraded to Windows 8.1 only the Eject-button does work. Any ideas what could fix that (drivers, tweaks, etc.)? Earlier I tried some Registry tweaks, but they did not do the job..

2. The scroll line on the touch pad doesn't work, even when the driver for it is installed properly. Do You know how I can bring it to usefulness again?

Hi there,

Since purchase, the touchpad on the right hand side does not respond.  I have ran the diagnostic test and this shows that there is zero input when I am touching the right side.  I have amended the touchpad settings using main.cpl and have disabled gestures but this does not resolve the issue.  Please can you let me know whether I need to do any more configuration or whether the touchpad requires replacement?

Hello, I own a Inspiron 3521, and about 6 months after I bought the system my Bluetooth stopped working, I search for devices, and the only device that shows up is my LGP-769 cell phone, and none of my Bluetooth headsets or other audio devices. However after pairing I cannot establish any kind of connection with the device. My Bluetooth icon still appears in the system tray but the settings will not open, even in the Device Manager the phone reads as a normal Bluetooth device. I've tried updating the drivers, but whenever I try to install a new driver it says that the OS is not compatible, even though it is for Windows 8 64-bit, and from the Dell website. I have searched every form and looked into every possible system setting, and no one seems to be having luck finding a solution to the issue, none of my previous Dell systems have done this.

I have a Dell XPS L502X which went through a hard drive replacement a while back. I decided to re-install Dell Webcam Central and update it to version 1.40.37 which is the latest version it says is available. The software works fine for still capture and video capture up to 768x480. Anything above that (1280x720, 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1600x1200) results in the following error: "Failed to start video recording. There may be a problem with the video capture device or the audio recording device." And then it creates a small blank 127 KB video file.

I've checked the audio device and it's all in working order. I don't see how the webcam could be at fault because it can capture resolutions below 720p fine. I've even re-installed the webcam driver just in case.

Any ideas?

Hey I was playing a game on my dell xps m1730 and the screen froze and the image was distorted with green and pink shadows,  I had no response from the laptop so I was force to crash it, I started the laptop up fine and proceeded to resume the game, once doing that the screen freezed as soon as the game loaded and I was again force to crash the laptop,  once doing the laptop powers up briefly then goes silent, there's no keyboard touchpad or speaker lights. I did the fn power button with sometimes starts up the machine and sounds normal yet no display.  The led light symbols that are on are the charging light power and bbluetooth the rest are off and only flicker,  the num led displays the left and middle symbols are flashing while the right is lit up but not flashing. If I leave it on for awhile it sounds normal as well just no display

What do I do? :(

when i turn on my Samsung galaxy young set Bluetooth ,my laptop don't show up any device,,,,,,,and i downloaded wireless drivers for windows 8.1 ,the installation is cancelled as it shows active wireless Bluetooth device.....

and system maintenance report show "NO REMOTE device found" what does this means?
