Dell Laptop Hard drive not detected
Hi,
I have Dell Inspiron N51100 which given error stating 'Hard Drive not found' some times. This error does not occur every time i boot my laptop. Some times after getting the error if i shake it a bit and start it works fine. I understand removing and placing of hard drive may resolve this problem, but i want to know about below details:
- Even though my laptop was never dropped what could be the cause of this issue?
- Do we have any option to verify re-planing hard drive will work fine and there is no need to replace the hard drive with a new one?
- I do not have any experience of working with laptop hardware but did work a lot with the hardware of desktop (Even replacements/repair of some parts which does not function properly) I want to troubleshoot this problem myself. But it is a very complicated task and I need an expert to get this resolved?

Can't get Driver for WiFi + BT 4.0 Broadcom card in my Inspiron 15r
Iv'e just done a Clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, but now I don't have the driver for the Wifi card. Its Broadcom 43142 Wifi +BT 4.0, I've tried some drivers but they don't seem to work. I've managed to get the Ethernet to work so that's how I'm typing this. I'd greatly appreciate help, Thanks!

E5510 CPU upgrade
Hi,
got an E5510, want to beef it up, going to get an SSD, but also want to upgrade the CPU. Currently it's an i5 520M (35 W TDP). Is it possible to replace it with an i7 660LM (25 W TDP)? Would love to get the fan quiet. :) But I'm very confused regarding sockets, "PGA" vs "rPGA". What does the E5510 have and what is compatible?
Would this CPU fit in or not (seems it has a BGA to PGA adapter?):

FN Key...disable/enable??
I just purchased and received a new Inspiron laptop. I've found several posts on here about the FN key, but none seem to be addressing the simplest of issues, which is how do you make the F1-12 keys default to the F1-12 key as opposed to the "hotkey" function that is assigned to it. An industry-specific software that I use utilized the F1-12 keys in almost every function, and I can't seriously have to keep hitting Fn+F4 every time.

Problem Verifying my Email Address with "Microsoft Account Team" in windows 8

I am facing a problem in my Laptop Dell Inspiron 15 3521. I buy new laptop. and setup my settings, I give my Yahoo Email Address in Account. Then computer is asking for verification from the Microsoft Account Team. When I open the email sent from Microsoft Account Team. and I try to click on "Verify my Email Address" then it goes to "Microsoft Live Email Page". and off course I cannot open my Yahoo in "Microsoft Live Page". It ask me to sign in. But I use my Yahoo ID. So Could anyone please sort out my problem, Is there any method to change my Yahoo Email to "Hotmail / Microsoft Live Email". I have my account in "Hotmail" but as mentioned earlier that I have given Yahoo ID in my laptop when opening my laptop for the 1st time.

Inspiron 6000 shuts off after a few seconds
My inspiron 6000 froze last night, and since has shut down seconds after being powered on. On two occasions it has started to boot; on the former occasion it reached the login screen but neither the mouse/keyboard would work, and on the later occasion it froze whilst trying to boot. Switching/removing the ram doesn't appear to work, nor does removing the battery and clearing the internal voltage.
I tried searching for a solution, but I couldn't find anything consistent, and the only suggestion I haven't tried is replacing the CMOS battery, which seems a little odd.
Any help would be appreciated; only having access to a tablet PC is a real pain.

Stylus for Inspiron 11 3000 series (3147)?
I was told I could add the Dell Active Stylus to the Inspiron computer, and it turns out I cannot. Does anyone know if there is a brand out there that works when the Inspiron is in tablet mode? I'm seriously disappointed!!

Left shift key is not being recognized.
Hi,
Left shift key is not working, I used my dell application to troubleshot, it recognized all keys, like if I press alt it tells its alt and so on, but when i pressed left shift it showed a message "key pressed". so I concluded left shift is working but not being recognized.
Please help me that how it could be fixed.

Need advice for a replacement battery Dell Inspiron 1545
'I've had my Dell Inspiron 1545 for at least 5 years now. In the past week my battery has gone from 100% charged to 69% with it fully plugged in, so obviously the battery is shot and I need a new one. I know they say that you should only use a Dell made battery but there's no way I can spend $150 on one from Dell.
I just did a quick search for a cheaper one and found one from Amazon and Walmart that are good prices. I read all the reviews for each and they both have an equal amount of good and bad reviews. Half of them said the battery worked fine and the other half said it didn't work. So doesn't really help when trying to make a decision. I still have to do more research though.
Can anyone recommend any reliable places to get a battery that will actually charge but not break the bank? Any other advice would be great. I don't know a lot about replacement batteries for laptops, this is my first time having to buy one.
Any help or advice would be great. Thank you!

XPS 15 9530 - Noise problem?
Hi all,
I just got my new XPS 15, amazing laptop but there's 1 big problem,
A high-pitched scratching/screeching noise is produced from the power button area ONLY when the power is plugged in and the battery is fully charged.
I've seen other forums and others have exactly the same problem, Any ideas?
I found this example http://z.mk/e6vq , the power is plugged into the laptop at 6 seconds.

Inspiron 7520 15R freezes and black screen
I have an Inspiron 7520 15r that with increasing frequency, will freeze and then the screen goes black. The power light is still lit and I can hear the fan running, but the computer is non-responsive. The only thing I can do is to manually power off the machine and then restart the computer.
This has happened 4 times within the last week and it is getting very frustrating. The machine is not overclocked, and I have cleaned out the fan of all dust.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Battery and AC adapter
I have a Dell Inspiron 15r 5537 Core i7 processor, 8 GB ram and 2 GB AMD dedicated graphics card. Every time I unplug the AC adapter from the laptop the games get laggy and when I put it again everything be ok, I think the problem is because some settings which is checked on ''power saving'' or something when using battery so I checked settings in both AMD and Intel Graphics control manager and also the power plan advanced settings an made them all at highest performance. Anyways I maybe left an option or made one wrong, etc... So please tell me what settings should I change and tell me if there is any other solution?!

Inspiron 14R (N4010) Laptop not starting
My Inspiron 14R (N4010) Laptop not starting up.
Last night, it was working fine but today it is not starting up.
I have already tried removing battery and AC power, pressed power button for 45 seconds and then put back the battery and AC power. But system is not evrn starting then as well.
Please suggest ideas to start it. Its urgent .

regarding DELL LCD
my Dell inspiron 5521 has recently developed a black spot, it is a very small spot. when i shut down my laptop it is still present on the screen in whitish or light grey color, i dont know whether it is a serious thing or i should ignore it. plz can someone help me with this ??

Dell Inspiron 15 3521 Giving 4 Beeps
When I turned on my laptop windows was booted successfully then suddenly screen shows some random white bars and machine stuck. Then I switched it off and turned it on again. Then it gives continuous loops of 4 beeps. No screen. I heard 4 beeps mean memory read/write error. so i tried re-seating RAMs, tried with only a single ram on both ports, etc ,all the combinations i can do with 2 RAM modules and 2 slots. Results is same :( ..
And When I turn it on with no ram it only gives 2 beeps per loop.
Then i plugged in my 2 rams in another machine, they are working!!, plugged in that machines DDR3 1333 ram (Mine hare 1600MHz but they worked in that laptop); same 4 beeps :( :( .
I Cant understand the problem. Plz help me...
