Dell Vostro-1450 making somebeeps at starting and system performance getting slow after sometime

Hi,


I have a Dell Vostro-1450 laptop. Since last week I am getting some beeps when I am starting my laptop but after that everything is going fine. After some time my laptop's performance is becoming slow and sometimes it gets hanged. This problem occurs more when I use google-chrome browser.

one more thing is the beep disappears after pressing any key. I was not sure about the problem. I formatted my laptop, but no improvement. What should I do?

Has someone noticed ghost images (screen burn-in) on Dell XPS 12 Duo?

I recently noticed ghost images on my Dell XPS 12 Duo. If a bright image on dark background stays on the screen for a couple of minutes and then I switch to somewhat dark background I can clearly see the previous image on the screen for some time before it fades away. Once I noticed it I started spotting even more subtle ghost images. I even managed to capture it in a picture with a low-end digital camera - http://imgur.com/a/RIYff (notice the tray icons clearly seen in the Win 8 start screen and even the facebook ad is visible). It is far more clear when you look at the actual screen and not on a picture. I already arranged replacement laptop (as I had other issues with this one) but yesterday I read news about mass defects in Apple's Retina MacBooks ( http://www.ibtimes.com/print/macbook-pro-retina-display-problems-apple-faces-class-action-suit-ghosting-issue-1129939 ) with practically the same issue. Now I wonder if it is possible that all Dell XPS 12 Duo screens have this problem.

So anyone else seeing this on his machine?

Dell Inspiron 15 3521 Blue screen ERROR

I am using a new (non-refurbished) Dell Inspiron 15 3521 laptop with Core i3 and windows 7. I have had this problem for a while that the computer suddenly shows a blue screen with error written on it and after memory dump it has to be restarted.

Of late this problem has become more common, occuring once or twice in every hour of use. NO, I HAVE NOT INSTALLED ANY NEW HARDWARE LATELY.

Please help.

XPS 13 Ultrabook battery not charging

Hi My year old XPS 13 Ultrabook's battery is not charging when plugged in. I measured the voltage of the power adaptor at the plug (the end that connects to the Ultrabook) and the voltage level seem fine at 19.4V However when I plug and unplug the power when the Ultrabook is off, the LED turns on and off accordingly. My Ultrabook is L321x, running Windows 7, and has BIOS A7 installed. Does anyone have the same issue, and is there anything I can do to check what wrong? Thanks for any help Ka

Dell Latitude E7240 - SSD Issue

Hello

I was wondering if anyone could help, I have a Latitude laptop as described above and for some reason it isn't detecting the SSD Drive.

It states: No Boot Device Found, press any key to reboot


I read on the Dell support website the laptop may need setting up in maintenance mode?

However after pressing alt+f at the Dell logo nothing happens it just tries to boot.

Any ideas guys?

DELL Inspiron N 5010 Beeps 8 times in row and doesn't showing on screen

Hi All

i'm having a dell inspiron N5010, some days ago i start my laptop and it started beeping 8 times in row and stop and again beeping, i google this problem and found that it may be lcd failure then i run the bist test it works ok and my lcd is working fine one day ago i faced the same problem so can anybody tell me what is the exact problem. what i need to do with the laptop to get the things right, is there is any problem with video card or something else.

Hi i have a Inspiron 15Z and it is unable to pick up a wireless connection and i am right beside the router. I know it is not the router because my old laptop connects fine. Any ideas?

Inspiron 3537 restarts when I close lid and shows error when booting

Hi! My brand new Inspiron 3537 shows VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR when booting, after Dell logo and restarts again. When I close lid, it also restarts instead go to sleep. I installed new BIOS and AMD radeon HD 8670M drivers, run Diagnostics test when booting Computer, run Diagnostics, restart unexpectedly test, Bluescreen test on Dell site, everything seems fine. And problem is still here. In Device manager there are yellow triangles on SM bus controller and USB 2.0-CRW. Windows can't find drivers. Please help!

Latitude 3330 BIOS update failure

Hi,

I got a latitude 3330 which crashed while updating BIOS. Now when starting the NB, the DELL logo shows up but just stays there forever. If I hit ESC, a process bar shows up but is stuck at about 75%. If I press F12, it says "preparing one-time boot menu..." but nothing appears.

What can I do to recover the BIOS? help, please!!

Alienware M18xR2 - No Boot Device

Hi guys. Sad times here. I just rebooted my M18xR2, however, to my surprise, It won't start up. At the very beginning of the boot cycle, it displays:

I have never had this happen before, and unfortunately I do not have an external backup of the documents on this computer, so I guess I'm kind of screwed there. :X 

The only thing I've tried (after reading another "no boot device" error) was removing the battery, holding the power button for 30 seconds, plugging the battery back in and restarting - to no avail. 

I'm not super computer-literate, so please explain in layman's terms if there is anything I can do to fix this, preferably not spending a lot of money if possible.

I need to know if there is a stylus I can use which looks and feels quite like a pen, I don't like the compressible rubbery feel of some stylus, they are not smooth enough.

Dell Insprion 1525 Laptop would not power down

Hi

I wondered if someone could tell me why a laptop A Dell Insprion 1525 which has been working very good for quite some years, should suddenly decied to refuse to power down.


A couple of nights ago my friend had been using the laptop for about an hour (via the mains cable and adapter) when she  tried to shut down the Laptop it would not shut off. so she switched it off by the mains.

This still did not power down the Laptop and was showing that its onboard battery was still working, She shut down the lid thinking that maybe that would shut it down but on opening the lid after a few minuets found that it was still on so she decied to take the battery out of the back of the laptop, which did then shut off the laptop. After about 5 minuets my friend then replaced the battery back into the laptop.


It had indeed stopped it, she has used it since and it powers down ok, but she is worried that it may happen again.

Can anyone tell me what may have caused it to behave like that, and if it happens again is there a likleyhood of a fire happening.

Greetings- Same issue as many others. It's out of warranty but since this is a known issue with this model is there anything I can do to have this fixed? I don't want to go through any temporary fixes so it creeps up again and start all over. Thanks Erik

I was using my Dell Studio and a message popped up from Dell about BIOS upgrade/update. Like a fool I clicked ok. Another window popped up from a company name I never heard of before. If there isn't enough trouble online like this anymore, I don't want problems. I closed the window as soon as I figured out what was going on. It took a bit of time for the window to close after clicked the red 'x' several times. Now the computer is dead, the upgrade/update ate my BIOS. After not finding anything regarding this problem anywhere on Dell's support site online I called. Oh what a terrible experience. I got someone who I couldn't understand their English then got passed to someone else. Seems Dell does NOT support this laptop anymore. Then why send out updates/upgrades? Finally the person said he would asked his supervisor what to do. No, let ME talk to the supervisor, I don't need information from one person to another to me. The supervisor simply told me that I should take it somewhere to get repair. I had been to Best Buy, they want $85 for a Dell caused problem, and if they can't fix it they send it out, another approximately $300. I explained this to the 'supervisor' and that it was caused by a Dell (or whoever Phoenix is) that caused the BIOS to disappear. The computer starts, nothing comes on the screen (which the 'supervisor' could not understand) then just goes 'beep' followed by "beep beep' over and over and over. The 'supervisor' told me he couldn't understand what would do that. Now I'm not a techie but what did that is that the attempted upgrade/update ate my Dell BIOS. But they have no intentions of doing anything. The 'supervisor' said he would 'escalate' my problem and someone would call me between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. within 24 to 48 hours. Well I sat with my phone on my lap both of those days with no call. Two days more go by nothing. Then I get an email from Dell "supervisor" saying they called but there was no answer. How strange I had the phone in my lap during those times for several days, my phone has voice mail. No message, no call, nothing. I emailed this back and said for them to let me know if they were simply not going to solve the problem they caused so that I could start working on the situation from my end. Thank God I live in a state with good consumer protection laws because I will NOT let this die. I have heard NOTHING back from Dell support in two days. Does that tell me something? Yes, it tells me they don't care, won't care, and it's my hard luck. I have bought 6 Dell laptops. I was a very loyal customer. I returned #6 four days after I bought it. Simply told the people at Costco it was an item of such low quality they should not be carrying it. They smiled and imply gave me my money back for it. I will never buy another product of any kind of Dell, this is the way they treat loyal customers, beware of their support, it doesn't exist. Be careful of their smiling face, it's a front. I took the money from the return and bought a really great HP Pavilion TouchSmart 17" for the same money that is working great for me.

Inspiron M5010 - 7 beeps at startup and it wont start

Hi,

My Inspiron M5010 beeps 7 time when I try to start it and then it wont start. I understand this indicates it is a processor issue, my laptop is only 3 years old and I am not happy that the processor would fail so quickly. How can I fix this?

Inspiron 17 3721 Hangs during shutdown

Hi All.

After the upgrade from Windowsw 8 to WIndows 8.1 the above mentioned Laptop has problem with shutdown, sospension and hibernation. The system hangs during these operations.

Reading others posts I reloaded the bios driver, I deinstalled the video drivers, AMD and Intel, and I reinstalled them, without good results.

At the moment the only way to have a safe switch off is to hold the shift key during shutdown. No way to hibernate or sospension the PC.

Dell Wireless 5570 - problem with linux.

Hi,

im fighting with run this modem (original name MC8805 from Sierra Wireless)  under linux (Ubuntu 12.04), Kernel 3.11.7 with small modification - added ID product ID and vendor ID to the sierra.c driver and now i see the ttyUSB* devices corectly. But.

Modem starts in low power mode (forced by BIOS?) - flag triggered to 1:

at!pcinfo show:

State: LowPowerMode
LPM force flags - W_DISABLE:0, User:0, Temp:0, Volt:0
LPM force flags - BIOS:1, GOBIIM:0, IM_AttachDelay:0
W_DISABLE: 0
Poweroff mode: 0

but i have on the same laptop Windows 7 - and when i first boot windows 7 system and do soft reboot and boot linux again the modem works:

So i think that windows driver sends some command/signal to modem for wake up? What it can be?

When the modem is in LowPowerMode when im trying to mage AT+CFUN=1 gives me error.

My laptop is Dell E7240. I have two latptops with this cards and problem is the same.

I updated the bios for the laptops to A06, problem exists still.

Does Dell Latitude E6420 Supports Over 8GB of RAM in Practice?

Good day to owners of Dell Latitude E6420! Did any of you try in practice to install over 8GB of RAM in your laptop to see if it is capable of working with over its maximum size which is 8GB? I ask because in my previous HP laptop manual stated that it supports up to 2GB of RAM though there were owners (of which I am also) who installed over laptop's maximum officially stated capacity with no problems. Thats' why I thought it won't hurt to ask here.
