Hi guys. Sad times here. I just rebooted my M18xR2, however, to my surprise, It won't start up. At the very beginning of the boot cycle, it displays:
ID Device Model Serial # Size Type/Status (Vol ID)
0 TOSHIBA MQ01ABD1 X2BRT6N7T 931.5GB Offline Member
1 TOSHIBA MQ01ABD1 X2BRT6N7T 931.5GB Unknown Disc
It then proceeds to try to boot, and this is what it says:
"Intel UNDI, PCE-2.0 (build 083)
Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller v2.0.5.9(06/01/11)
Check Cable Connection!
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM.
No Boot Device Found. Press any key to reboot the machine"
I have never had this happen before, and unfortunately I do not have an external backup of the documents on this computer, so I guess I'm kind of screwed there. :X
The only thing I've tried (after reading another "no boot device" error) was removing the battery, holding the power button for 30 seconds, plugging the battery back in and restarting - to no avail.
I'm not super computer-literate, so please explain in layman's terms if there is anything I can do to fix this, preferably not spending a lot of money if possible.
Thanks in advance. Let me know if there's any other info I can provide.
Alex
