Vostro 5470 Ram upgrade

Recently,  I bought a Vostro 5470. Since it only comes with the 4GB RAM, I am planning to upgrade the RAM to 8GB. I ask the technician where i bought the laptop if they can do it.. They said, yes. But my only concern is that will it void the warranty?

Other stores even told me to call DELL Support to inform them of the upgrade that I will be making.

Windows refuses to boot up

I've a Dell Inspirion. For some reason, after I used my laptop continously for over 10 hours, the laptop now refuses to boot up. 

It starts but immediately gets into a 'windows in recovery mode'.

Can the experts here advise on best course - replacing the drive, getting contents off it, booting the laptop if possible?

Hello,

I have purchased 14Z 5423 recently and it started giving problem when I power it on. It gives blank screen and beeps 8 times at regular interval.

I have gone through posts and beep codes on this topic as it suggests LCD failure.

Please suggest solution for this.

Hello,

I am going to install Windows 8.1 Enterprise on my new Dell Inspiron 15z 5523 as the pre-installed Windows 8 Single Language got sucked up and I did a restore system for it two times.

I want to know which drivers should I install when I install the new windows 8 and in what order please?

As for the "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" Version 12 I wont install it, it makes BSODs. so I will install the older 11 version.

Sleep/Hibernate Failing

Hi all,

I'm having troubles with sleep and hibernation on my Dell Inspiron 3537. If I tell it to hibernate the computer shuts down remarkably quickly. Then when I go to resume from hibernation either it just hangs on a black screen until I force shut down, or it boots up freshly.

Looking in the event viewer I'm getting messages like:

  • Windows failed to resume from hibernate with error status 0xC0000001.
  • The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.  The bugcheck was: 0x00000113 (0x0000000000000017, 0xffffe0015bc7a010, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000). 

and

  • The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Any ideas on how to tackle this one? It's fresh out of the factory last week so all the drivers should be up to date. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dell Inspiron 17R 5720 beep codes n errors??

HI everyone!
                     My dell inspiron 17r 5720,i bought since 12months is not starting properly since yesterday .When i start is beeps,,first 3 beeps,then 4 beeps again 4 beeps .. sometimes it starts without any beep(2 out of 5 times) .When i remove battery charge it,sometimes it don't indicate laptop is charging,after few times pressing power button it starts.
                    Many times after starting normally  screen becomes blur,,keyboard mouse don't work,,when i just close the laptop(not turn off) display n open it ,it is blank screeen ,,power off!when i restart it,it again beeps 3,4,4...i can't get any solution can anyone help if it is display problem or cpu failure or what? Crying

Inspiron 15 7000 (7537) touchpad frustrating!

Hello all,

I recently purchased a new Inspiron 15 7000 (7537) with Windows 8.  I'm getting used to Windows 8, but really struggling with the integrated touchpad.  It's getting so frustrating I'm considering returning it.  The problems are hard to pin down, but in general:

-I often get the right click shortcut menu, when I'm just trying to click.  I've even changed both the right and left hand buttons to both be "click" (and neither be shortcut menu), but I still get the shortcut menu a lot.

-Sometimes the cursor gets stuck and doesn't respond to movements.  I've tried adjusting the touch sensitivity and disabled palm detection.  No change.

Any advice?

Hight temperature at DELL Studio 1558

Since I bought this equipment I had heating problems.

The machine temperature rise very much.

Now arrive to a point that automaticaly it switch off alone.

This makes that I can't work.

I think Dell must give us some support to give a solution for this probem

Hi Support,

I purchased a new laptop almost an year ago. Until December 2012 my laptop was working great but due to my projects I was to shift on windows 8 platform for development. So i installed my newly purchased windows 8 x64 enterprise and used it but after installation and configuration my system started to crash then i contacted Microsoft, Intel for support but they said that this is problem with bios contact your manufacturer. then i contact dell support they said to upgrade your bios version to n11. then i upgraded my bios and my system worked great but unfortunately i was unable to use my 3.0 port...

i tried all the drivers i also installed win 7 but nothing worked...not even on linux os...i am currently unable to use 3.0 port plz solve my issue. this issue came after the installation of bios n11 until that everything was working fine. i also contacted the authorized dealer in my area to check if usb are working or have been wrecked but they checked the laptop thoroughly they said this laptop is A1 nothing wrong in hardware...i also told them the same issue they said to contact u on forum please solve my problem,...

i will be thankful to you guys please solve my issue...as early as possible.

WiFi + Bluetooth Driver is not working for Inspiron 15 3541

I have recently purchased dell  Inspiron 3541 , installed windows 8.1 64bit in it , downloaded all the drivers from http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/servicetag/JKY2312/drivers . When I try to install the WiFi + Bluetooth Driver (DW1704_Driver_Broadcom_A00_WIN8.164-SETUP_ZPE.exe ) , it's asking to press the wireless switch (Fn+PrtSc) to activate the Bluetooth , the wireless switch does enabling\disabling the bluetooth but the driver software is not detecting it and wont install Sad 

Dell Studio 1555 : Not bootup , No beep sound ( Power button display solid white light)

System : Dell Studio 1555  

Configuration  : 4 GB RAM , Core 2 Duo

Problem : 

Since yesterday I faced this problem. 

Yesterday I did not get display on screen and even I don't able to heard any beep sound from system. After some time ( After 5-7) minutes It get beep 5 to 7 times. I stopped system by removing battery.

I started it and now I got display.

Today I faced same issue there is no boot up , no beep sound and only solid power light.

Please help me with your suggestion.

Dell Studio 1558 dead

My 4 year old Studio 1558 appears to be dead. My son was using it to play games and it just died on him. This is not totally unusual as we have had problems with overheating in the past but he had it running on a cooling pad. Since then, we have been unable to get it up and running again.

The power light comes on and the fan is running but the screen is black. I have tried the 30 second power button with the battery removed trick but with no luck. I have also switched the power on whilst holding down the D key which causes the screen to flash through a series of different colours.

Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 No Boot Device Found

Just received my Inspiron 3000 2-in-1 and when I turned it on for the first time I got the No Boot Device found error. 

The laptop turns on and goes through the Dell logo and the progress bar, but after that it's a black screen with the message No Boot Device Found, Press any key to restart.

I ran diagnostics and there are no errors. Anything I can try before I call support. Thanks

JOGO DE EMPURRA - Ultrabook Inspiron 14Z 5423 - Com defeito equipamento – Desde o dia 21/05/14

Ultrabook Inspiron 14Z 5423 com defeito equipamento parado há 54 dias.

 

Em agosto de 2013, comprei o ultrabook Inspiron 14Z 5423 pelo site da própria Dell Computadores, pois precisava de um equipamento que tivesse um bom desempenho. Este equipamento foi adquirido com o intuito de servir para uso profissional e educacional. No inicio, como já tinha outro equipamento usado em casa, quase não usava meu Ultrabook Dell. No entanto, quando comecei a utilizá-lo com mais com frequência, o equipamento supracitado começou a apresentar problemas de desligamento automático, teclado defeituoso,   superaquecimento e não liga. 

A partir deste momento, começa a minha longa trajetória junto ao suporte técnico da Dell. Em menos de um (01) ano de uso e ainda dentro do prazo de garantia, o equipamento apresentou diversos problemas. O seu superaquecimento foi um dos primeiros problemas enfrentados por mim. Este problema persistiu por aproximadamente três meses e só foi solucionado após mais de quatro visitas técnicas a minha residência, fato que consumiu meu tempo, comprometendo minha disponibilidade para o trabalho.

Menos de um mês depois, o Ultrabook Inspiron 14Z 5423 começou a apresentar problemas com a atualização do software. Logo depois, o constante travamento das teclas teclado.  E por último, o equipamento não estava recarregando mais. A princípio, pensei estar enfrentando um defeito no carregador, porém diagnostiquei que não era o carregador, mas sim um curto-circuito no próprio ultrabook. Com todos esses problemas solicitei a troca do equipamento e o suporte técnico me informou que só trocaria com 7 dias de uso.

 

E o que se segue é o que chamamos de, “JOGO DE EMPURRA”.

 

Dia 29 de maio de 2014,

O senhor Renato Souza, Customer Service Representative da Dell, entrou no caso e disse que acompanharia o chamado técnico DPS#306189132. O mesmo senhor Renato me informou que enviou uma solicitação aos provedores de campo para dar agilidade ao atendimento.

 

Dia 05 de Junho de 2014,

O senhor Renato informou que o setor de logística havia revisado o chamado e, até aquele momento, não tinham peças disponíveis no estoque do Brasil. E como o atendimento da Dell é global, o senhor já mencionado definiu oito de junho de 2014 como a data de previsão da chegada da peça no Brasil, afirmando que assim que tivesse a peça em mãos entraria em contato informando a data para agendamento do reparo.

 

 

Dia 09 de Junho de 2014,

O Renato Souza me informou que havia encaminhado o processo à gerência da Dell, e me pediu 5 dias para retorno do contato.

 

Dia 11 de Junho de 2014,

Fui informado por Renato Souza que o mesmo havia feito a escalação (o relato¿) do caso à gerência e que esta o havia autorizado a dar uma solução definitiva ao caso. Segundo ele, a solução teria duas alternativas: a troca do equipamento por outro ou a devolução do valor referente a ele.

 

No dia 13 de Junho,

O senhor Renato me informa que sua gerência autorizou a devolução do dinheiro investido no equipamento, e no prazo de 5 dias para o contato, eles lhe informariam o procedimento para a entrega do equipamento e recolhimento do outro. Já que não foi possível a troca do equipamento , pois o modelo Inspirion 14z 5423 saiu de linha.

 

No dia 17 de Junho,

            Diego Keresk, Analista do Suporte Técnico, entra em contato comigo para me informar que a empresa havia recebido minha solicitação de devolução (do Ultrabook  ou o ressarcimento do seu valor de mercado) e para comunicar o procedimento a ser adotado após terem recebido meu consentimento para devolução do equipamento com defeito.

 

No dia 24 de Junho,

            O senhor Diego verificou que o valor do meu equipamento na hora da compra foi de R$ 2.234,83 (dois mil duzentos e trinta quatro reais e oitenta centavos), e o após a correção monetária do equipamento foi calculado em R$ 2.385,97 (dois mil trezentos e oitenta e cinco reais e noventa e sete centavos). E este foi o último contato que fizeram comigo.

 

E lá se vão 54 dias sem meu equipamento, sem meus materiais de estudo e materiais de trabalho. Diante deste cenário caótico e constrangedor em que me encontro, venho até aos senhores pedir que me ajudem a solucionar este caso. Quero somente meus direitos!!!

I installed a new OptiPlex 3020 running Win7 64-bit Professional about two weeks ago. I was installing updates and programs. I ran a virus scan with AVG antivirus and Malwarebytes. After I rebooted, I no longer had internet access. I can access the OptiPlex from another computer on the network, using shared files or computer management. I can ping yahoo.com, but cannot access internet with any browser. I've uninstalled AVG and Malwarebytes and used system restore and updated the network driver, to no avail. I've booted into safe mode with networking, but still cannot access the internet. The OptiPlex is connected my router via Cat5 cable- not wireless. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

AMD 6900m SERIES QUERY

Hi guys,

I have an alienware m17x r3 and I ccan't seem to install AMD catalyst. It gets an error everytme.  I have tried autodetect, 32bit and 64bit but nothing worked.  I'm actually trying to find out what kind of 6900m series I have, whether its 6970m or 6950m. It says in dxdiag that it is 6900m series. Also, do you think that there is a possibility that my video card is broken? I can still play HD games though. Sorry for the stupid questions. Not really good at this stuff.

Integrated Graphic gets hotter more than Dedicated ones

So, like the tile said. I had XPS 17 L702X with 3gb Nvidia GT 555M inside. I dont remember when the problem starts, but lately after I install GPU-Z, i notice that when playing games, my integrated HD 3000 gets much hotter than Nvidia ones. It goes to 80++ until 90 when Nvidia stays around 70-80. even when i'm not playing games, integrated always higher than dedicated.

I already put nvidia gpu to global settings, so every game i play would have to use nvidia, and for physx i choose nvidia too.

Is there anything i do wrong? bios maybe? or anything to disable integrated?

Any help will do. basically i'm afraid with my integrated taking heat that high

Precision M4500 not booting

Since a couple of weeks this machine isn't booting anymore.

Powerbutton LED is steady on, Harddisk LED is rappedly blinking like twice a second.
  BIOS is not showing up.

I tried:

- Removed the harddisk and DVDRewriter
    Results in no HDD Led, no booting

- Removing the battery and power supply, and holding the powerbutton for 15 sec.
    battery back in and power-on again, same result.

What can be the problem?

Is there any diagnose possilble with these symptoms?

New XPS 13 (9333) Constant Noise

I have just recently received a new XPS 13 with the new haswell i7 processor, 8gb RAM, 256gb ssd, and windows 8.1.

I really like this laptop, but it makes a really bizarre noise. It happens constantly as soon as its powered on, like a high pitched whirring sound from somewhere beneath the keyboard. It also seems pretty inconsistent, like it flickers in frequency, and when you use programs (e.g scroll through webpages) it gets louder.

Can anyone help me with what the issue is here? Any help appreciated.
