XPS 12 Touchscreen 9Q33 Keyboard Multiple Characters - How to Use

So even with searching this forum and Google I for the life of me cannot figure out how to enter the multiple different characters that are on the keyboard keys.  Some keys have multiple characters on each of them and I cannot figure out how to use those extra characters.  Can anyone tell me how to do this?


Power problem with M6500

Hello everyone,

I am the happy owner of a Dell Precision M6500, however I am now confronted with a problem related to its power supply : when the laptop is not plugged in the AC, it refuses to start (the light of the power on button flashes only very briefly, for a second or two), although the battery is fully charged, as indicated by the indicator on the battery itself, as well as the battery icon in my operating system (Ubuntu and Windows 7). I discarded the possibility of a faulty battery by trying another one from a working M6500 and the problem is the same : as soon as I plug the power cord out, the laptop turns off immediately.

Do you have any suggestion ?

Laptop locks up at the windows error recovery screen

I have not recently added anything new to the computer. It will not boot up past the windows error recovery screen.   I ran the diagnostics which took a couple of hours and everything passes.  any suggestions?

Inspiron 11 touch screen stops working intermittently. Need to restart it. It was upgraded to 8.1. Anyone else having this issue? Is there a fix?

Okay so I have a dell inspiron n5110 and I am looking to replace it. The only thing is I can't find my specs page for it or find anything with its spec so I am having trouble comparing it to other laptops. So could anyone recommend a specific computer model that is equal if not superior to it or give me the specs for the inspiron n5110 so I can do spec comparisons myself.

This appears to be my last resort.

I'm working on a laptop for a client, she brought it to me with a multitude of problems, one of which was the syskey scam that she partially fell for (long story short, she hung up when they asked for a credit card, but not after the damage had been done). I've got her computer back in working order (which, at this point, as taken three days), however i've unsuccessfully installed her wireless drivers. i've got her ethernet drivers functioning, however, they were no small headache either.

I've spent the last day scouring the internet; Google, Dell, these community forums, Tom's, yahoo answers, you name it, i've been there.

I've followed the installation order to the "t", found here http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/downloads/en/driver_install_order?c=us&l=en&s=gen&~lt=print&DoNotRedirect=y

however, it still produced no results.

Drivers were installed from these two web pages:

I've tried every combination of available drivers possible, and have still had no luck. I know my wireless network is active, as I have positively connected four other devices, including another Dell M5010 post having these problems with this unit.

So, my question for you, is do you know any workarounds/solutions/other driver downloads that may point me in the right direction, or even a direct solution? i've had no luck anywhere else!

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello,

I just bought a new laptop it's model Inspiron 15z 5523

System specs i7-3357U 500 GB HDD + 32 SSD

I used AOMEI Partition Assistant to create another Partition from the only one "OS" partition 437 GB because I wanted to make the 1 Partition "2 Partitions" now the newly created partition is 300 GB

Now, the first problem I can hear little click sound coming from the back of the system, Is this a hard drive failure sound and happened after I did this HDD split using that AOMEI utility or is that just normal sound?

The second problem is that I can't check the temperature of the HDD using HD Tune tool.

I just see "Intel  Raid 0 Volume"  as below

And when I click on the red temperature mark, I get this error message

Can any one help me?

Recovery partition Inspiron 1545

So I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop that was originally Vista then upgrade to Windows 7 via Dell supplied upgrade disk. I now have a couple corrupt user profiles and want to do a reset to factory and reinstall  Win 7. The recovery partition to the best of my knowledge was not touched during the upgrade. It shows over 9GB of used space. but when i click on the recovery fold it says it is empty. I try to do a factory restore via F8 on boot up and it isn't an option. If I load my Vista disc and try I now have the option but it does not find  the factory image, I really do not want to do a fresh format and install , Any help would be great.

When I had 7 Pro i could disable the touch pad in the device manager

I had to go to 8.1  and no way can I turn the D--- thing off and I am about to throw thi thing in the trash

Does anyone out there no how t disable the touchpad using Windows 8.1

Antenna wires interchangeable? (Dell Latitude E6410 Intel Centrino Ultimate N 6300 wireless card)

In the process of replacing the AC jack of my E6410, the main (#1, white wire) antenna connector broke off from the board. Furthermore the broken connector fragment got stuck to the antenna end and I am certain I won't be able to remove it and reuse that particular antenna. The wireless card still works just fine but I'd rather fix what I broke.

For this card the white, gray and black antenna originally were attached to corresponding connectors. Because I have no WWAN there are two spare antennas unused.

So are the three (B,G,W) or even the WWAN antennas interchangeable? If so I will just grab an upgrade board and replace the broken white wire with a unused spare. Otherwise I guess I have to replace the whole antenna assembly.

Here is a photo of the old board with BGW connectors (Anything special about the color coded antenna?)

Cannot find wifi networks

I have Inspiron 3521 laptop with Windows 8 and Dell Wireless 1703 Card. After I start Windows it cannot find the wifi adapter and any wifi networks (including mine). If I reboot the Windows a few times it finds the adapter and connects to the wifi, however after 10-15 minutes Windows freezes and restarts. Is this a hardware or software problem? How could I sort this problem out?

I have been having problems with my laptop (unable to install and uninstall some programs because it is saying I am not an administrator for example) and decided that I wanted to reset it to factory settings. I backed up everything and went to the advanced boot screen (pressing F8 while the computer as booting up). I get the screen that says repair computer and when I choose that option and press enter, windows boots up. When I tried to go to recovery through the Control Panel, I got a message about a corrupt file. My computer did not come with a windows disk so re-installing from a disk is not an option. Any help you can give me on how to reset my computer would be greatly appreciated.

Alienware M14xR2 shuts down when battery is plugged in but works without the battery

Yesterday, when I turned on my Alienware M14x R2, I noticed that down in the battery icon on my taskbar it said Battery plugged in but not charging. My computer was recognizing that the battery was plugged in as well as my AC adapter but it wasn't charging my battery. I shut down my laptop, took out the battery, checked for damage on the battery's connections, and plugged it back into my laptop. When I restarted my computer, it turned on, I got the initial loading screen with the progress bar, and then it came up with a message saying Battery plugged in, Not Charging. It gave me two options: press F1 to continue normally, and press F2 to bring up a menu where I could see the computer's properties. I pressed F1 and my computer immediately shut down. If I remove the battery, however, the computer will turn on and work normally, as long as I have my battery plugged in. I was doing some research online and noticed that I am running BIOS A09 and that the latest BIOS is A13 but unfortunately, I am unable to update it as I can't run my computer with the battery in it. My battery is fully charged and the 5 LED's on the battery itself are lit up.

Please, if you have any idea what is happening let me know! Any feedback is appreciated

Hello,

I have dell laptop inspiron 15R

I could not find "boot order" in section "BOOT" in BIOS

And when the laptop start and  I hold in F12 to change the boot order , I could not find CD from the list , only My harddisk and 2 options about LAN

Any help please?

Inspiron 7720 SSD installation problem

Hi,

I recently bought a Corsair Neutron GTX SSD to put in my Inspiron 7720 SE laptop. I have put the SSD in the second hard drive slot and kept the 1 TB factory HD in the first slot. I tried to reinstall Windows 8 on my SSD using the recovery disks I created with Dell Backup and REcovery software, booted from the CD, but all it does is reinstalling Windows 8 on the 1 TB drive. I even tried to remove the first drive and kept only the SSD but then I would get an error message saying that Windows can only be installed on a 1 TB drive.

So, how do I proceed if I want to do a proper reinstall of my OS on a SSD and keep the factory 1 TB drive for storage?

cursor problem

While I'm typing on a Dell 5421, the cursor jumps all over the place at random. All of a sudden the text will appear before the word I'm writing, at the top, wherever. It occurs.. last one month (I did not touch while .. my touchpad damn sure). all driver are updated.

I send this problem to customer care.. but dell customer care are cant help me.. coz they were saying "To get the issue resolved on the system we need to troubleshoot by taking a remote connection of your system and for that you need to be available with the system. 

So please provide us the time between 12PM-6PM when you will be available with the system from Monday to Friday."

And this is my office timing .. so i cant fullfill this requirements.. I hv to go to office ...

Thats why  I really dnt like dell serivce.

Dear All, I need guidance on how to act in the case reported below: In April 2013, I purchased a Dell Notebook Inspiron 14R, purchase made via the internet at the official website of the company. After 3 months of use of the equipment, the HD presented problems, the company was notified (tests were done via online (performed by an attendant Dell Technical Support.) After verifying the problem, asked to replace the HD. Past two months, more a problem with the HD, the same procedure was carried out, got in touch with Dell Support, who did the tests remotely. After verifying the problem, scheduled replacement again. 2 weeks ago, I had a problem with the monitor of the notebook, the screen does not turn on sometimes, I need to run several "tricks" to view the operating system. What works is to put a pillow under your notebook to have the monitor working satisfactorily. again I called Dell stating the problem, they gave little attention , saying only that the warranty had expired and they should accept a visit from a technician paying service. pondered them saying the Notebook malfunctioned twice and I bored you should receive adequate attention, because I understood that it is addiction hidden. Please advise how I should act, formalizing a complaint with you? Thank you in advance, Justi Ricardo Rodrigues
