M11X Bluetooth Driver
I am missing the driver for my M11X's Bluetooth Device. I have downloaded all of the drivers listed on the Dell site for the bluetooth devices for an M11X to no avail. How do I determine which bluetooth device I have in my laptop? And once I do, how to do properly install the driver? I've spent way too much time on this, and it seems to happen (losing the driver) every few months.

Dell XPS 14 (L421x)
Hello,
I'm having a lot of trouble with my wireless connections. I just bought an XPS 14 about a month ago and notice whenever I am more than 10 feet away from my router I have no access to the internet, even though my signal is still plenty strong. I've installed the latest intel centrino driver and browsed these forums solutions, included changing the power plan to not let my computer put the device to sleep. I've also confirmed my BIOS is up to date. Is this a known issue with this laptop (bad design)? Are there any other solutions?
This is extremely frustrating. I bought this laptop to use in Law school and now I doubt I will be able to access the network for computer exams.

Dell inspirion N5110 Widows mobility problem
Couldnt find how to add my comments to the other discussion. I too have had a probelm with windows mobility constantly opening up on screen close it out just to have it open again. Now has got to the point happens even while working on a solid surface such as a table top . and low and behold i also have been having a problem with repeated xxx coming up while i am typing . I put up with it for months because after all who has hours to spend on the phone with dell customer service. i have complained about the touch pad "and casing" sincee i have had the computer. Which of course is a replacemnt for the first laptop they sent which totally didnt work . it seems to me that is dell is having the sme problem with multiple customers and multiple computers . They need to FIX THE PROBLEM AND THE ISSUES with thier JUNK . i spent extra money so i could have a dell and bought the intel 5 processor brcause i wanted a computer that would last. my son's basic compaq laptop we bought a wlamart for 300 bucks is 3 years older than this and still works better .

Cpu fan is not working on inspiron m5010 with linux mint
I'm new to linux and im still learning but the fan worked in windows and it doesnt seem to show up in the system as running at all.
I'm running Mint 14 mate 64bit on a Dell inspiron m5010 laptop with Triple core AMD Phenom II N870 and 6bg of ram. I know amd's run hot but im seeing temps under 5% cpu load from 71c-75c now. I have noticed that my cpu fan does not turn on untill it gets to at least 70c-74c. It cools down to about 66c and then creeps back up.
First i tried clearing any vents of dust with my compressor. Then after that didnt work i took the laptop apart and applied new thermal paste to the processor(ic diamond 7c paste was what i used). I upgraded the bios from A9 to the newer A12 version and nothing changed.
I tried to install fan programs like fan control but they dont seem to work for me.
The fan worked when i was running win7.
I searched google and the mint forum and came up empty. On google i found a thread about similar issues on a different disto but nothing on mint (http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/laptop/475288-dell-insipron-n5010-fan-not-working-hot-hot-lappy.html)
I'm pretty lost here so any help is greatly appreciated. Remember i am a newb so any answers try to make them as simple for me as possible. :)

I am about to change the original vostro 3550 non - backlit keyboard to a backlit, however, as i checked the shop, there is no option to get one from dell, so my options are ebay or amazon. Dell XPS 15z Crashing while playing games
My brand new Dell XPS 15z is having problems when playing games like League of legends, Minecraft, Maple story, etc. I had BDOS twice already whent playing League of legends. I bought fan so it doesnt over heat but it still crash. I really need some help, :(

Inspiron Multiple Issues, and negligence from Dell
This is the third time i'm posting about same issue.
I have multiple issues in my laptop and I was out of India when it occurred. First the Hard Drive failed, and then display too, leaving me with a blank, frozen boot-up with 8-beeps code. I checked the LCD by pressing D-key before startup which shows all the colors, so the problem is in GPU which means motherboard (or GPU) has to be replaced.
I have talked to two Dell represtatives, given them my service tag, registration info, address and all, and first one even told me that I need replacement for parts which can only be arranged if laptop is in India.
Now that i've sent my laptop back to India, she stopped responding. I posted the issue 2nd time, another Dell support guy asked my service tag, now he's stopped responding too.
If anyone from Dell sees this, please ask me for service tag and address only if you're gonna reply back to my inbox within a day.

Inspiron 17R causing router to reboot
I have a Inspiron 17R with Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030 card running windows 7. When the laptop communicates with the router, the router reboots so Internet connectivity is lost for all devices using the router. This happens when the laptop resumes after hibernating, when you release and renew an IP address, turn on wireless radio etc .
Router is provided by Vodafone and is a Zyxel AMG1202 Series.
Investigations so far have checked DSL carrier lines, ISP, Splitters, router (another Zyxel P600 Series was tried), but problem exists with all.
Other threads have pointed to a wireless adapter "power save polling" router compatibility issue and pointed to an Intel thread which talked about router software/firmware upgrade or changing WIFI adapter into continuously aware mode. I'm waiting to contact the ISP for the router software but don't hold out much hope as it's a locked down sw build. I'm struggling trying the other option to change WIFI adapter into continuously aware mode. The instructions given were to

I've tried the following but still have the same reboot issues.
- Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
- Double-click Network Connections.

- Windows 7 or 8: Select Transmit Power,
change Value to 5. Highest.
I've also tried turning wireless radio off and using wired only connection but the same issues appear to happen. Has anyone got any further advice for this issue, please.

Dell Vostro V130 USB port not working
I have a Dell Vostro V130 that has only 2 USB ports on the back. One port works fine, but the other port does not work. I have gone into the devise manager and unistalled them there and restarted the computer and still does not work.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Dell Inspiron 15 N5050 won't load
I try to turn on my laptop, it will show the Dell logo page and have press f2 for setup and f12 for boot. But hten it goes to a black page that says:

How to create new partition on Dell XPS 13
I have a Dell XPS 13 which comes with 128 gb SSD
It has 4 primary partitions:
-OEM(39Mb)
-Windows
-Recovery
-Hibernation(8gb)
I cannot create new partition after resizing the Windows partition, there's always an error: "You need to change 1 primary partition to logical" or "not enough slot in mbr to create new partition". I think that it's because 1 disk can contain only 4 primary partitions.
So any way to solve this, I need 1 more partition to store data or install other OS maybe.

Inspiron 7720 Black screen after Dell logo
Hi
In October I bought the Inspiron 7720. After 4 months, the laptop wouldn't boot immediately anymore. I had to press CTRL+ALT+DEL so it would retry.
It always worked the second time until yesterday. Now it doesn't boot at all.
I've found a lot of people here with the same problem. My OS is Windows 8.
A lot of solutions are proposed but none of them work for me.
Tried solutions:
1) reset BIOS to default configurations (doesn't work: access denied)
2) disable secure boot
3) change from AHCI to ATA and back
4) ran system diagnostics: no errors
5) pulled the battery out and tried with only AC
6) pressed power button for 15sec without battery/adapter
7) rebooted 3-4 times with (only AC) to get the windows recovery screen (didn't work?)
Nothing at hardware level has been changed since I bought it.
Any help please?

Dell Latitude D610....
HELP! I dropped my D610. I get this message: Corrupt file windows/system32/config/system. Prepare file by starting windows setup using the original set-up CD-ROM Select r at first screen to start repair.
Now, since this was bought used, I have no Set-up CD rom disc, however, I borrowed a friends Dell Latitude D600. Can anyone tell me how or even IF I can
create a start-up disc from the D600, that will get my D610 working again? Is this even possible? Both systems run XP.
Also, if It will not work, can anyone tell me a website where I could possibly order a startup Disc for MY D610? Will Dell supply one if asked?

I need help please!
hi,
think you for looking, i really need some help. so i have a dell studio 1747 laptop. i use windows 7 premium. my screen has gone out on me. so i am using an external screen. i had no problems before my screen went out. but as soon as i started using the external screen something happened. it starts just fine in safe mode. i get bsod saying attempt to reset the display driver was failed. i have already tried updating all of my drivers, though i dont know if i did it correctly.am in the middle of school and have very little money. if there is anything i can do please let me know. i do not have the windows disc. if there is anything else you need to understand the situtation please let me know.

Super Speed USB 3.0 Docking Station - No power to laptop?
Laptop is on and plugged into the docking station which is "powered". Connection to monitor / keyboard and mouse is fine, however I'm surprised to see a lower power - plug is soon message. Isn't docking station supposed to provide power to the laptop?

XPS 14 Touchpad Reverse Scroll Issue
I have a recently purchased, just built with Win8, XPS 14. I went through all the hoops of installing all of the newest drivers and software from the Dell support page like a good little boy. However, I've noticed the Touchpad software that let me reverse the direction of gesture scrolling (so scrolling down by swiping down, not up) does not work. I've restarted, I've toggled the Reverse on, off, off then disabled, re-enabled, turned back on, all of the permutations. This happened out of the box too--I couldn't scroll the way I liked even though the option stared me in the face I figured that I'd be stuck with it until after the recent rebuild it worked--until I rebooted. I assume this is a bug with the software, or perhaps there is some way to voodoo this to work the way I'd like a premium laptop to work? Many regards.
Also, is the driver update utility going to be updated to allow for XPS users to one-stop-shop for drivers? Or will that software continue to only be useful for Latitude users?
