Which drive will mostly be adequate and fit the space allocated in the laptop?

Inspirion 1545 - Prompting For White Bios Admin Password
I have an issue with an employee's BYOD that she was using in the office yesterday with no problems in the morning and then by afternoon after connecting it to the network at our other campus it was only displaying the white BIOS Admin challenge screen. Of course it's out of warranty (purchased 2010) and I have been requested to resolve the issue since it's what she uses for company purposes. No end in sight to the BYOD joy...
Any Dell technicians who can provide some assistance would be greatly appreciated? Please let me know and i'll send you the code privately.

dell inspiron 5721 wifi issues
My wifi will randomly lose connection, other devices in my house are working fine when that happens and continue to work. It's like the wifi connection is going to sleep but I have it set in the power settings to never sleep. Anyone else have issues with this? It will suddenly say limited connectivity. My Asus router has the latest firmware and like I said I don't believe it's the router.

Studio 1558 screen issue
Several months ago I had the hinges on the computer fixed since the plastic and power button was falling off.
Might be completely unrelated HOWEVER, since then the state of my computers screen has consistently deteriorated where every time I open or adjust the monitor the screen has lines going through it, the color gets all messed up and the picture will freeze with things not moving when adjusting the mouse or typing etc.
Is this a wiring problem since it seems to be correlated with the moving screen or does the whole screen need to be replaced?

Wireless issue: Dell XPS 9530 - Intel AC 7260 Network Adapter missing?
Hi there,
I started having an issue with my XPS 15 9530 this afternoon. The laptop was having connection issues with my router showing as 'Limited access' for a few minutes, before the connection went altogether - it was unable to detect any signal (usually a few wireless signals are detected from my neighbour's routers) I restarted the laptop but had the same issue, no connections were available. I had a look around on the forums and tried a few fixes such as adjusting the power settings, but then I realised these were all in vain as when I opened the Device Manager and looked under Network Adapters, the wireless card was not present at all.
In the list is, "Bluetooth device (personal area network), Bluetooth device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI), Tap-Win32 Adapter" - [the last one from my VPN]
I left the laptop for a few hours whilst I searched for anyone having similar problems. I powered the laptop on a few minutes ago and it was able to connect to my network, though when I opened a browser to test the connection the service was shown as limited.
I opened the Device Manager again and the wi-fi adapter was now present in the Network Adapters list. I right clicked to look at properties and as I did so it's status changed to "This device cannot start (Code 10). This device does not exist."
In the day whilst looking for fixes I updated the drivers to the most recent on the Dell page. If I open the Intel ProSet software I get the error "Installation Blocked: This software package cannot be installed on your system"
I have the i7, 16GB, 1TB HDD configuration and I have replaced the stock 32GB mSATA SSD with a 480 GB Crucial M500. At the time this happened I was using the laptop with an Anker USB 3.0 Dual Display docking station.
Does the wireless card also provide Bluetooth? As I am still able to use my Bluetooth mouse with the laptop - though I did notice that around the same time the connection issues started my mouse stopped working, I assumed it was the batteries and promptly changed them.
Any information and help would be greatly appreciated,

Fingerprint reader has no management application installed
I just received my new Dell Latitude e5440.
It has a built in fingerprint reader, and the Device Manager can see it and says it is 'Validity Sensors' and the device is working properly.
In Control Panel -> Hardware -> Biometric Devices the Validty Sensors device is listed. If I click 'Use your fingerprint with windows' it opens a new screen with the error message 'Fingerprint reader has no management application installed'.
How do I get the software to use my fingerprint reader?

Uneven gap in folded Precision m3800 (new nb)
When I fold my new Precision m3800, there in an irregular space between the display and the keyboard. A little pressure on the upper side makes the cover to sink, see the video. Is it normal?

Has someone noticed ghost images (screen burn-in) on Dell XPS 12 Duo?
I recently noticed ghost images on my Dell XPS 12 Duo. If a bright image on dark background stays on the screen for a couple of minutes and then I switch to somewhat dark background I can clearly see the previous image on the screen for some time before it fades away. Once I noticed it I started spotting even more subtle ghost images. I even managed to capture it in a picture with a low-end digital camera - http://imgur.com/a/RIYff (notice the tray icons clearly seen in the Win 8 start screen and even the facebook ad is visible). It is far more clear when you look at the actual screen and not on a picture. I already arranged replacement laptop (as I had other issues with this one) but yesterday I read news about mass defects in Apple's Retina MacBooks ( http://www.ibtimes.com/print/macbook-pro-retina-display-problems-apple-faces-class-action-suit-ghosting-issue-1129939 ) with practically the same issue. Now I wonder if it is possible that all Dell XPS 12 Duo screens have this problem.
So anyone else seeing this on his machine?

Dell Studio 1558 equivalent laptop
I'm currently having Dell Studio 1558 and I'm facing issues with the motherboard, so planning to replace it.
I'm looking for suggestions on any Dell models (preferably in India) that is equivalent (or higher) to my current configuration:
Intel Core i7 processor, 4GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 5000 graphics card (512 MB), backlit keyboard, DVD writer, 5.1 channel audio (2x audio output and 1x mic in), stereo speakers with subwoofer, WWAN support and 9 cell battery.
Rest of the configuration like HDD, webcam, display and networking are, I believe, are standard in all the models, so I didn't mention that.

studio xps 1340 periodically overheats and shuts down
I've researched this as best I can and despite having cleaned my laptop inside and out and using a cooling pad, I inevitably get a fast running fan and ultimately an overheat and shut down. This happens even when I'm not running any power demanding programs. I love the machine and hate the idea of having to replace a fairly new laptop but I'm at my wits end with it. Any help would be appreciated.
PS...I did read that this is and has been a problem specific to this machine and that dell was supposed to come out with a better replacement vent configuration??

Inspiron N7110 laptop won't start
I'm having a problem with my brother's N7110 laptop, and it won't start. When I hold on the power button, the lights turn on and the fan starts to run, but it doesn't sound like anything else is running (I don't think the hard drive is making any noise, but I don't know if it used to or not, or how loud it was when it worked).
I tried taking out the battery and holding down the power button, and nothing different happened. Also tried to plug the computer into an external monitor and there's no signal coming out of it. The computer does turn off again when I hold down the power button. I tried holding down the "fn" key while it was starting up and there were no beeps.
Anything else I can try?

Inspiron 11 3000 - No Wifi?
Ok, just got my new Inspiron 11 3000 a couple days ago. Wireless has somehow been turned off. The Wireless button on the keyboard only toggles between Airplane Mode on or off. It doesn't change the status of Wi-Fi as it still says Off regardless of how many times I hit the Wireless button. Very frustrating... From the quickstart and the manual, it looks like that one button it all I've got.
This is coming from an IT professional who knows his way around windows device settings, etc. I've looked for updated drivers, uninstalled the device and let windows re-install. Searched through the device settings for anything that might look like it vaguely applies to this...
Also of note... Bluetooth is in the same situation, off and no response to the button. The toggles under PC Settings to turn either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth are both grayed out.
Do I need to RMA this?

Touchpad gestures/scrolling/pointer not working after windows 8.1 update on Dell Inspiron 11 3137
Just got a brand new laptop, Dell Inspiron 11 3137, and updated to windows 8.1. The touchpad does not work properly now; gestures/scrolling/pointer not working. I've spent over 16 hours getting windows 8.1 installed and then troubleshooting this issue. I've contacted Dell; updated the driver from Dell, even tried installing the latest driver from Synaptic. I even tried setting the Synaptic app to run under the windows 8 version.
Touchpads have been around a long time. It's the last thing I expect not to work properly.
At this point I am ready to send the laptop back and call it quits on windows.
Can anybody help with this?

Dell inspiron 14z 5423 severe lag after fresh install of windows 7
My dell inspiron 14z 5423 is not working the same as i brought. This problem started when i freshly installed windows 7 and since then its been lagging so badly as to a point i cant use it. The only programs installed are the drivers from dell website, office 2010 and chrome. I use chrome and office for daily purpose and it very painful to open and use them. To me it looks a problem with the intel rapid storage technology but i cant figure this out. Can someone either from dell or the forum help me. Thanks
Btw i installed windows 7 in raid mode which is intel rapid start technology in the bios, then had no drives visible so downloaded latest the drivers from intels website, then saw the hdd and installed windows, once booted i installed iRST programme and enabled acceleration mode using full capacity of the 32 GB mSATA. but still severe lags with chrome and office.

2) When put to sleep the battery light is on and the power light is very slowing blinking on and off. What
does this mean?

Inspiron 17R Hard Drive
Hi
I have a dell Inspiron 17R.
I have been working on it all weekend and today I tried to turn it on and it is stuck on the dell screen where I would click guest to sign in. Nothing is listed so I did some testing and received an error code - Validation 74257. And to contact technical support. So I did and basically the guy said I lost everything on my laptop and they will ship a new hard drive and send a tech to install it Tuesday or Wednesday Bc it's covered under warranty still. I have worked all weekend on graphic files that need to go to print Monday and need to recover them from this bad hard drive. Please help. I have a My Passport external hard drive here.

Wireless keeps dropping
Dell Inspiron 15z 5523: Wireless internet keeps dropping; I troubleshoot and it resets the driver and fixes but will drop it again and I have to troubleshoot again to fix problem. Is there a driver update or fix for this model? I have other devices and no issues with them.

BIOS\CMOS problem
Working on a Dell Inspiron 1545, need to replace the Hard drive the old one is dead. When I boot into the BIOS I found that it was password protected. Any help would be appreciated.

Bluetooth Driver Not working on 8.1 and drivers from website uncompatible
I recently updated my laptop to windows 8.1 and my bluetooth driver stopped working , i tried to download the latest from support website but installer stops after noticing windows 8.1 is installled , ive tried running the installer in compability mode but still the same thing
