My battery on my Studio 1735 won't charge. At boot-up, it says the battery cannot be recognized. To bypass and use the power adapter, I hit F1.
I went ahead and bought a new Dell battery. It worked the very first time, but then it drained and never would charge up again. The battery icon in my lower tray says 'battery plugged in, but not charging.'
I also tried to uninstall this battery via device manager, and then reinstalled. That did not work either.
I also loaded a new Windows 7, and that did not work, not sure that it would, but I did it and nothing changed.
Do I need a new mother board? Is there a charging circuit somewhere I can replace? (If so, how?) I hate to junk it, but I really need to be able to power up on battery. I also had to buy a new power adapted when I got the boot up error message saying that was not recognized, but a new one did fix that. I"m tired of spending money on this, but if there's an easy way to fix it, I'd like to.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
