Hi Folks, can someone please help a novice here? In "this PC" I can see my OS (C) drive and Recovery (E) which is my external HD. But now there is another "new volume (F)" and I've no idea what it is or for 
it's 11.8gb in size and empty. Do I need this?

How to disable Inspiron 5520 touchpad?
I'm typing this the second time because the cursor jumped around and finally erased what I had written. I use a wireless mouse but it doesn't disable the touchpad. The only thing I have found mentioning the subject was to press Fn and F3, but when I do this it has no effect. If anyone has any other ideas, I'd appreciate hearing them. Thanks.

Wifi internet disconnects when closing the lid.
I have some problem with my Dell Laptop. When I close the laptop lid (plugged in) wifi internet disconnects automatically. When I close the lid (on battery) it's not disconnected. I also checked the option in control panel "choose what closing the lid does" and its on "do nothing" only.. I'm facing this problem from yesterday only.
Please help me to solve this problem. Thank you!

Need a new graphics card!
I currently have an Alienware mx14 laptop that is about 4-5 years old so its not the best performance wise anymore. It has help up find however with what im doing. I've been playing League of Legends an online game that interacts with up to 12 people in 1 game. Im not lagging when its just me and another player on the screen but when it gets up to 3-4 i start to lag and of course when all 12 are on the screen i cant really doing anything but hope for the best with blind play. Im currently running the Nvidia GeForce GT 555M its so old i dont even think they sell it anymore. But its was the stock card on this laptop when i bought it. Im looking to upgrade to something that will run my game for a few more months until i make up my mind on whether or not to get a desktop bc i know laptops aren't ideal for hardcore gaming. although alienware has made the laptop capable of gaming i think mine has just gotten to told to handle some things. So if someone could please give me some options on a graphics card that will take care of my problem and wont cost more than my laptop is worth now lol. I tried to look on Nvidia.com to replace mine but it was so complicated that i couldnt even find a section that i could look at. It was asking if my comp was 1-2 slotted and how much room i had for a graphics card and everything and i have no idea how to figure that out and even if i did i still would need help making a choice on the card. Im sure if u look up the mx14 stats online u can figure out what size and slot i have but im still in need of help with what card to get. It'd be much appreciated if someone could help me out and give me a few options or just one if its a for sure perfect match for what im looking for.

Adapter not found; Wimax not ready
Hello There!
I recently formatted my OS and installed new copy of Windows 7. I installed all the drivers for proper functioning of my laptop. But following are messages I have under notification box;
1. Intel My wifi technology: Adapter not found
2. Intel Proset/wireless Wimax Wimax not ready
This is my laptop Configuration.

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2450M CPU @2.50GHz
Installed memory: 8.00 GB
System Type: 64-bit operating system
Can someone help me which driver I have failed to install??

Can boot to Windows - Cannot get into BIOS!
My service tag ends in <Admin Note: removed per privacy policy~RK>. I can boot into windows or with a boot disk but cannot access my BIOS to change settings. I only get the message enter system password when I try. Can you help?

XPS 15 9530 - Erratic/Poor WiFi Performance
Recently received the new XPS 15 9530 with the 512GB SSD option. For the most part, the laptop is performing okay. However, every few hours, the WiFi starts to behave erratically. The signal strength bars flicker between all 5 on, to just 4, to just 3, to just 4, etc. Data throughput goes to nearly zero and most web browser pages either load extremely slowly or timeout. Rebooting the laptop appears to fix the problem for a few hours, then the WiFi starts to act up again.
I called Dell support, and the technician had me download and install the latest network card drivers for the XPS 15 9530 (9530_Network_Driver_12TM7_WN_16.5.1.6_A00.EXE). A few hours later, the erratic WiFi behavior was back, indicating that the new drivers did not solve the problem.
I have my old Dell laptop (an XPS 15 L502X) here in same room as a reference machine. During the times when the WiFi connection on the new laptop is misbehaving, and the signal strength bars are flickering, the old laptop shows a rock solid WiFi signal and has zero trouble accessing the internet at high speed. In other words, there is strong evidence that the problem lies with the new laptop (the 9530), and not with my WiFi router, etc.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem with your XPS 15 9530? Any ideas whether it can be fixed? Or should I return the laptop to Dell for a refund?

Alienware M14x R2 Laptop Mouse Left Click Problem
Hi everyone,
I've had this problem since I purchased the laptop since last year, and it hasn't been a large problem but it seems to be coming up every now and then. I tried searching for the problem but could never find answers on forums that really addressed it.
Sometimes when I left click my mouse, my laptop will read it as I typed the C key on the keyboard. This is bad when I'm working in apps like Adobe Illustrator and when I'm playing games on my laptop for example. It interrupts my work cycle and usually makes me perform actions I don't want to do. I am unsure how or why this would happen. I tried using a friend's mouse and the same thing happened, so I believe it might be a hardware problem. It doesn't happen all the time, but it is starting to get annoying and hope I could get an answer soon.

XPS 13 SSD not Found
Laptop has worked fine for 1 year, then the last 2-3 months we are getting intermittent SSD not found errors. Try to boot and the SSD is not recognized. In the past we could leave it some a few hours or days and it would work again fine. This time we are going on 4-5 days. We have tried several time to remove SSD and place back in to no avail. We have also removed the battery and to preform the hard reset. I guess next step will be to take SSD and place into enclosure to see if it still works at all. Laptop is about 3 months out of warranty. Perfect timing.
Any other suggestions or known issues with some models of SSD from Dell I need to be aware of. I wont both with Dell CS unless its a simple recall. I have had Dell's for many years and gave up on the telephone support in the 90's. Forums are my friend.

"Dell System Detect" is loaded.. but Dell can't find it
"Dell System Detect" software is not found on my E6410 Laptop; yet, each time "Analyze System For Updates" and "Dell PC Diagnostics" routines run.. a new copy of Dell System Detect is installed .. perhaps it's being installed in the wrong place?

Problem while booting my laptop
I have a Dell laptop Inspiron 5030. While booting, Dell logo comes again and again and does not load OS.
Also while Diagnostics, there comes a error :

Inspiron 8500 power button not working
Returning to computer found blue screen. Could not turn off computer by pressing power button - no response. Removed power cable and battery to turn off computer. Replaced battery and power cable (battery is fully charged, power seems to be working) . Green light is blinking very slowly. No response to pressing or holding down power button. Tried trick of removing cable and battery, holding down power button, replacing cable - no response to pressing power button. No previous hints of problems. Power button always previously worked. Is there any way to revive it?

Blocking the first restart after "end of the installation " black screen with mouse arrowthat moves and nothing more ...
I tried to install Ubuntu successfully fully functional,
I also successfully installed windows 7 (but without a license, it was just for a test), so I can leave it on.
Do you think the pb comes from the Vista DVD (which was new and no scratches) or the problem lies elsewhere?
I said that the motherboard was changed out of warranty there is a little over a year.

Vostro 3560: replace DVD-RW with BD-RW drive. What is the BD part number?
Anyone has swapped the DVD drive for the BD drive? I've found some on eBay but I wonder what will happen with the magnesium front plate. Is it easy to unmount from DVD bay to place it in the BD? Which model BD do I have to look for? Actually I wouldn't mind not having the continous magnesium exterior body IF I get to burn DVDs and watch BDs on my vostro, but I would be very welcome.
Mainly, I want to perform the switch cause I got tired of the frustrating and terrible burning inability of the TSST DVD drive.
Please share your experiences.
