Hello,

            Why Dell is so un-responsible on the issue regarding the Dell N5110, All users of that laptop are really feeling bad about Dell company, i m really hating my laptop that windows 8 professional is not getting run on my laptop, Always screen goes black after installation is complete, Why Dell is not releasing the Drivers or Bios to solve this issue ? whats going on ? All other laptops having Intel HD 3000 Display working windows 8 like charme only the issue is with Dell Inspiron N5110, I m currently using windows 8 professional by disabled intel HD from Device manager and at low screen resolution of 1024, very bad look, Its almost month past and Dell is not giving any response on this issue. I m requesting from the Dell please to release the Display Driver or solution so we can see the Quality view of windows 8, i have purchased the licensed version of windows 8 and it is very bad that my laptop is not running it correctly.... Please do something its too much............ Or Get back your product and refund my money please so i can go with a hp or lenovo to run windows 8.....

I've notice when i start my 5520  up the screen stays blank for approx 2 min and today i wanted to get into the Bios for something  so i  hit  F2 at startup but  the screen again went blank  again for approx 2 mins . What i wondering , should i me worried ?  otherwise  it works fine.

Hello,

So my company purchased a Dell Latitude E7240 laptop with the E-Port docking station (the one with just 1 DVI/VGA connection).  The laptop is fine by itself but it has issues when we undock it and then re-dock it.  The problem is that the user (just happens to be the President of the company :() has 7 or so USB devices and since the docking station only has 5 ports available, we bought a separate USB hub for her (and the USB hub has its own AC adapter).

So if she has the laptop in the docking station docked and turns on the laptop, everything is fine.  However, whenever she undocks it and then docks it again none of the USB devices work.  The problem is that it doesn't happen every time she undocks and re-docks but enough that it is extremely annoying.  Also when this happens, the laptop won't restart or shut down without any issues...it just hangs at "shutting down Windows" screen.  I have to manually hold down the power button to get it to shut off.

We have had a Dell tech come out and swap out the motherboard on the laptop and that seemed to fix the issue but a day or two later the issue cropped up again.  I just received a new docking station from Dell and swapped it out but, again, still having the issue.

The laptop is Win. 7 64bit OS load; has all the latest drivers that I know of...so....anyone else with the similar experience and/or any thoughts on how to fix this?

Lovely laptop and while my wife was in North America no problem.  She has been overseas for 2 years now and during that time (no proper grounding of plug possible here)  the aluminum deck causes shocks to the wrists when hands are placed on it and secondly, the  voltage drop ie current to the laptop deck has caused the paint job on the speaker grills on each side to come off (the opposite of the process by which  the metal was painted to begin with).

Item is out of  warranty of course and there are other threads that certain dell laptops have voltage drops across their decks.  Comments?

dell 7537 windows 8.. while i connect charger its shows no battery is detected.. then i reinstall system detect and it shows plugged in but not charging.. it is really frustrating... please please  help .. i purchased it 12 days ago..

Hi i am haziq, i recently bought a dell inspirion 15R 5537 and, the version i bought was a dos, so i got windows 7 installed on, the inbuilt games are giving problems like install drivers. I can get the wifi on, So i fiqured out drivers are missing. I am downloading the drivers but i want to ask whether windows 8 drivers work on windows 7. ANd will it get installed correctly they are still getting download. I am a little worried as this pc has caused me and still i have to work on getting the drivers installed. Please help me out. I am sorry if i have posted in the wrong area. Or if imentioned something wrong.

I'm lookimg for information on how to reformat or factory reset my hard drive. I have everything I want backed up and I have the discs for the drivers but I can't seem to find a concrete answer on how to do this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I swapped out the hard drive (it was failing after two years) and put in SSD drive, all is working GREAT except can't get bluetooth to work and still have USB issues showing up on Device Manager. Been to Dell site and numerous other sites, run Intel driver utility .... you name it, I've tried it.

I went to use my SD card slot for the first time.  I removed the blank/dummy and inserted my card but it pushes back out.  To use it I have to hold it in with my finger.  I tried putting the blank back in and it does the same thing.  Any suggestions?

i want to remove the bios password on an XPS 15 L502X? my sisterwanted me to remove bios password n wen i did so.. i couldnt finf remove option.. so wat i did was entered password n thn in new password left in blank in both ocassions.... but now d problem is its not accepting d old password nor its accepting blank password... pls give me d solution sir....

i called dell customer support but i dnt knw y call isnt connecting... my no. is <Admin Note: removed per privacy policy~RK>...

. when I press f2 for bios settings it asks to enter password/unlock key and below it says Unlock key hint number 98b1fdfb, don't know what that is. Any help is very much appreciated. I can give the service tag if needed. thanks...pls help me out sir pls...

Hello all,

I need to reset my 1 week old Inspiron 17R (5737) back to initial factory state (i.e., restore to factory image),  I have to install a certain application under Win 8.0 and I already upgraded to Win 8.1.  The usual procedure, according to Dell documents, is to shutdown and repeatedly press <F8> upon restart (before Windows boots up) in order to get the advanced Boot screens.  From there it is just a matter of using the correct menus to force a reset to factory image.

 I have tried this repeatedly, and my system does not respond to repeated pressing of <F8>.

Anyone have a clue how to proceed?

Hello,

I have a brand new Dell Vostro 3560.

CPU fan has been working constantly, even when the CPU is very low. The noise is awful! There is no software installed only new win7, latest DELL bios A13 and all latest drivers (chipset, video card, etc).

I have performed and CPU fan disgnostic (reboot->F12 ->Disgnostic) it is passed. CPU FAN speed is reported 4600RPM.

Please advise how to resolve this problem!

Computer would not read USB flash drives and in the device manager says SM Bus Controller code 28 (driver not installed) I tried reinstalling with no success. Help please. My computer is XPS L502X with windows 7 professional. Thanks!

Have a Dell XPS 14 Z  ( L412Z) laptop and just bought a USB external hard drive which works in the USB 2 port but not in the USB 3 port

What can I do to get the USB 3 port working??  Regretably never been able to test it before and now just out of warranty!

Hi, i recently bought a dell inspiron 5521 Windows 8 Pro 64bit 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-3517U processor (4M Cache, up to 3.00 GHz)

It has 2 graphics cards...

AMD RADEON HD 8730M 

INTEL(R) HD Graphics 4000

I use the laptop for playing games

I have red that its supposed to automatically switch between the 2 cards for the best 1 which is obviously the AMD card

but it doesnt seem to switch, it is only using the INTEL card 

Anybody no how i can change it to use the AMD RADEON card?

I have always had two icons on my desk top to show the users of the computer, one with my user name and the other with my daughters. for what ever reason my icon and name has disappeared leaving just my daughters, which says locked!. I have been unable to unlock her and get mine back. Any suggestions, I have a Dell Inspiron lap top.
