My 7577 came with a SSD only and I am trying to add a 1TB hard drive in the empty bay.  I have a WD black 1TB that is 9.5mm in height.  When I try to close the back, it is slightly too tight.  There are two pieces of cushioning tape on the back side of the back cover over the hard drive that I could remove to give me more room.  My first thought was to call Dell Technical support and ask them what the maximum drive bay height for hard drives were.  The first technician kept giving me the computer dimensions.  When I told him that he hung up on me.  I called back and the next technician told me that adding a hard drive would void my warranty and he could not help me with that.  I asked to speak with his supervisor.  After waiting 15 minutes, the supervisor came on.  I explained to him what I wanted.  He put me on hold for 15 more minutes and then told me that information was not available to technical support and to call sales!  I can't remember when I have worse customer support.  Imagine a computer company that cannot give me drive height requirements!  

Does anyone know what the maximum drive height is?  Has anyone installed a 9.5mm hard drive in a 7577?

I'm going to install a NVME m2 drive, and read that in order to get the full speed, my motherboard needs to support PCI E 3.0 x 4 and not just (x2).  I can't seem to find the info - checked the stickes too.  

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

My Delll Inspiron 7000 gaming laptop with GPU Nvidia 1050TI get heats up very fast when gaming.

Is it normal for the laptop to heat up that fast and until what temperature can this laptop operate without damaging its component?

Im connecting this laptop to a TV with 28 inch screen and set it to 1080p resolution with HDMI cable playing Dota 2. (Best looking resolution set on dota with 120 maximum FPS) (Size : 1920x1080 60Hz)

Im wondering will my laptop be ok if I continue to operate with such condition or should I reduce the resolution and FPS because the laptop is very hot and the fan is spinning fast and loud.

Any suggestion can my laptop support such game play and what temperature can this laptop operate without damaging it?

Plz help me plz.plz .I have update my bios to 1.4. 1 in dell inspiron 5559 laptop.laptop . after the updating I can't login to windows. I try many more times.times . error msg accrue with blue screen. And it contain several error msg in several times. One msg is fault in nonpad area. I try to reinstall windows 10. My inspirion n5110 has stopped working recently. The only response i could get is an orange light above my touchpad (which is usually the 'touchpad off' light.) There was a beep earlier, but it no longer works... i've attempted releasing flea power, cleaning the ram chips, and changing adapters, but none of them have worked.. Im worried that i may have to replace this laptop and i do not wish to as its my last computer and i need it, please help.

I just upgraded laptop Dell Studio 1555 from Vista to w10 and downgraded to Windows 8.1 and now I have no network.

The network adapter Broadcom Netlink (TM) Gigabit ethernet alone show up in Device Manager, but Network and Sharing Center sees no network adapter.

Device Manager even reports "Device is working properly".

When it was on Vista, there were no issues. The moment Windows 10 was installed, the wifi was working sometimes. Later when i changed it to Windows 8.1, it totally stopped. All drivers are updated. Here, the wifi hardware itself is not showing in device manager

It will be really helpful if you can throw a guidance on how to rectify it.

Hi, My new laptop recently started show problems. When i wanted to shutdown i accidently pressed restart. so while its was restarting i forced shutdown by pressing power button. From then every time i boot dell assist opens up and shows hard drive not installed. but sometimes it boots normally and while doing my work it suddeny freezes.Can anyone tell how to fix this?

Even though my dell inspiron 3542 laptop which has 8.1 installed in it is fully charged,it is showing "low battery press F1 to continue" every time i start my laptop. please suggest what should i do to stop this unwanted notification at startup.

I own a dell inspirion laptop. It has Windows 10 and Intel inside. I made no external or internal configuration. I had it for about a year when my problem happened.  It was being slow so I just started to factory reset it. Then about 40% threw it failed. Then it rebooted and went to a dell support assist scan. I let it run and it took a hour or so.  It said nothing was wrong and it would reboot. And now it's stuck in this process. I looked for solutions but they all require other computers and I don't have one. Like I can use the ones at my school but those ones won t let me open up applications like the Windows media creation or Rufus. So what do I do? Please help.

Hello Community,

I have recently purchased a laptop from Microsoft Store (US) and traveled to my home country.

Since I will be staying here for a while, I have following questions related to the Warranty:

- I have transferred the ownership from US to my country, so am I eligible for Warranty or not once Service Tag transfer is complete?

- I called Customer Care here many times, but everyone says different things every time. One of  CSR mentioned that they will quote the warranty after the ownership transfer. So does it work exactly?

- I searched all the post but warranty transfer questions remain unanswered.

Recently on my xps 13, I've been unable to wake it up after it has entered sleep mode unless I did a hard reset by holding down the power button. The issue is that after I tried to power it on again, it would just give out 8 beeps until I powered it off.

I have phoned Dell and it seems like an lcd/motherboard issue, however, I have managed to eventually boot it up by plugging it in and powering it on, or by pressing the "d" key during boot up. Right now, it is working perfectly once booted which makes me skeptical of any hardware issue?

Any suggestions? I have reinstalled the BIOS and any recent drivers?

My intel HD 630 integrated gcard can not detect 2nd monitor.

2nd monitor detected by nvidia gtx 1060 and driven by gtx 1060.

If i disable gtx 1060 on device manager, there is no way i get signal on 2nd monitor

Intel suggest it is Mobo problem, which hdmi output directly connected to nvidia gtx card. Is it true dell?

I dont want to enable my BOTH cards in order to use 2 monitor? It brings me awful battery performance.

Windows 10 is freshly installed (creators update) and drivers are up-to-date.

I have a Dell Inspiron 3537 with a cracked touch screen. I would like to replace the screen but cannot determine the correct part to purchase.  Is it a Touch Screen only or is it an LCD with embedded touch?

It looks like the LCD with embedded touch is correct, but I would like to be sure.

Good morning. 

My notebook have a 4k monitor with touch screen. After windows update driver's chipset don't install driver's touch and so there are only "unknown device". When Dell will fix this problem? The mistake is abosolutely on driver that isn't up to date from 2015. I have paid 1300 euro a pc with touch!

Latitude E6530  Chrome remote desktop gets disabled every time I reboot. I use about 8 computers with Chrome remote desktop this is the only one with an issue. I can set it all up and it works until its rebooted and then it shows up as greyed out and not online after a reboot. If I re enable it again it works again until a reboot. Then for  every time I re enable it it creates a new greyed out version in the Chrome remote desktop list of computers.

I have a Dell XPS 15 9560 laptop that I've updated with the latest BIOS and drivers.  I also have a Dell TB16 240w dock.  I recently bought a Sonnet Echo Express SE1 TB3-PCIe Chassis where I've installed a 10Gbit Ethernet card.  When I plug the Sonnet Chassis directly into the laptop, the laptop sees the network adapter perfectly, but if I plug the dock into the laptop and the Sonnet into the dock, it fails to see it (the network card).  Any ideas??

I can plug the Sonnet chassis into my laptop and plug the dock into that, but then I lose the ability to charge my laptop via the TB3 cable.  Not ideal.

Need help figuring out why this thing is so slow. Passes all diagnostics test but response is much slower than computers with half the specs. Has all updates and has ran many hours but still painfully slow.

I bought an used mother board from ebay, and installed it.
Please see the picture. ""The TPM could not be initialized""
However, if I pressed F1, then windows will start.
Do you have any suggestion to solve TPM problem? Is this mother board bad?

Ok so I have downloaded a Windows 10 iso onto my phone and I think that i could use my phone as a bootable device. Is there any way I can make my phone a bootable device? I need to reinstall Windows onto my dell inspirion 14 laptop.
