Inspiron 1545 Powers Off (but not in Safe Mode)
I have an Inspiron 1545 that randomly shuts off, but not in Safe Mode. I have already done the following:
1) Removed bottom cover and cleaned the cooling intake (it was very clogged). I feel the air circulating, so the fan is functional, and overheating is not a problem.
2) Suspected corruption of Vista, so I backed up data and wiped out the system. It powered off in the middle of the Vista install, so it got corrupted and I had to start again. Thankfully it made it through the installation the 2nd time.
3) Ran onboard diagnostics. It shutdown in the middle of the March B memory test, every time I ran diagnostics. Suspecting a memory problem, I removed existing modules and inserted a brand new 2GB module. Shutdown still occurred. No error code or indication of a failure, it just shuts down. This occurs both on battery and on AC power.
4) If I boot to Safe Mode, it stays on indefinitely.
5) If I boot normally and don't touch it, it stays on. If I try to do anything, such as download Windows updates, it will instantly shut off within a few minutes (the timing is random, but always within 10 minutes and usually within 1 or 2 minutes). Again, no warnings or indications of an error, just instantly off.
I suspect a problem with the System Board, but before I spend the money and the time replacing it, I want to make sure I'm not missing something else. Any thoughts?

Firstly,
So basically, is it possible for me to upgrade my Alienware M14x R2? such as, its graphic card? if it can be done, how should i do it? Do i have send it back to you guys or can i send it to any Dell shops?
Secondly,
I have problem with my Alienware M14x R2 speakers such as that it would not release its sound to the maximum potent. so far, i've tried uninstall and re-install the sound card thing. but, no change has been seen. SO, is it possible for me to send it to any Dell shops and let them check whats the problem with it? will it breach my warranty contract? i would like to avoid such situation

Dell Inspiron 15 3521 won't start, it is beeping continously (not 4 not 7 beeps) with intervals and by luck sometime it boots, no dell icon nothing black screen, Please help this is my first experience with dell, before I used Hp its quite better !

WLAN DW5800 Drivers for Windows 8.1
I can't find any drivers for the Dell Wireless 5800 (DW5800) for Windows 8.1
This effects numerous laptops, including the E6420 and Alienware products. All current drivers and former drivers fail with the error "This is not a Dell compatible system."
Any help appreciated!

Inspiron 15 Monitor Color Temperature
Santa gave me a new Dell Inspiron 15 laptop, running Windows 8. I'm downloading the 8.1 update as I type.
But my monitor display is decidedly cold blue, especially the whites. I've been tweaking the color in the Intel Graphics Control Panel, but I'm still not happy with it. It's hard to look at.
What else can I do?
Mac OS X allows you to choose a "target white point." Can I do this with Windows 8? Or do I need a third party utility?

New Vostro 5470 Does it have mSATA port ?
I want to know if this model (Vostro 5470) have the msata port ? i have seen it in owners manual but when ever i asked a dell representative (chat sessions) they said it don't have . I know currently the available configurations don't have msata ssd pre installed but i have mSATA 64G (half height ) with me so i want to buy 5470 and put it in by myself. But before I buy it I want to be sure if it have the mSATA support ! that's the only thing stopping me to buying it.
I need a confirm answer.

Windows 8.1 and Latitude E6410 - problem with black screen after sleep mode
Hello,
I have E6410 with NVS 3100 M graphic card. I had no problem with windows 7 and sleeping mode. After I buy a new system windows 8 it was good too. But when I update my system to version 8.1 than will appear a problem with black screen after sleep mode. I tried to update graphic driver, but it didnt help. I have last BIOS.
Please can you help me with this problem?

Dell Vostro 1500 cold boot issue
I am facing an issue with my Dell Vostro 1500 laptop with Windows XP
When I boot (power on reset) from a cold state (shutdown), I sometime get only the LEDs of audio and power-on reset button glowing and just a blank screen. Fan is running but nothing happens on boot. I cannot power down using the power button in this state and have to physically remove the battery to boot again. This happens both with or without AC-power connection.
One out of 20 or even more tries, the booting is successful and after that thery is absolutely no issues. I can work on the laptop for >10 hours at a stretch and also do a warm boot (restart option).
I cannot put the machine into standby or hibernation as coming out of these low power states results into an abrubt shut-down.
Any idea, what could be the problem.
My laptop is out-of-warranty.

XPS 15 (L521x) Multi-finger scroll jumps
I love the hardware design of the XPS 15, except that the touchpad is unusable for scrolling. My old Latitude 6520 at least could use the scroll zones well, but with the buttons on the L521x being part of the touchpad, the horizontal scroll zone impacts button usage and isn't worth it.
The big issue is the multi-finger scrolling jumps significantly when lifting fingers. I've tried every version of the driver I could find, and they all have this issue. If you make sure you completely stop scrolling before lifting fingers, then lift one at a time, I can usually avoid the jump, but that take more time than just using the keys to scroll.
Is there a way to either disable horizontal scrolling using scroll zones or fix the 2 finger scrolling to not jump? Except for that issue (and some sporadic wifi issues that my be fixed with newest driver), this laptop would be perfect for me.

Laptop Battery upgrade

My Laptop is DELL Inspiron 14R 4010 Series laptop; contains 6 cells battery. New battery as well as on begining time(i.e. while purchased time) usually I got 3 hr battery backup. I am planning to upgrade my battery to 9 cells which gives more than 3 hrs battery backup.

Keys stopped to work on Inspiron 14R 5421
Hello,
I bought this laptop in march, and now some of the keys of my keyboard arent working anymore.
five keys arent working anymore: left control, f1,f2, quotation, 5.
I have already tried to reinstal my keyboard driver twich but it didn´t work, I think this is a hardware problem. I´ve checked all the keyboard configs and regional settings to meet me Brazil ABNT requirements but it didn´t work either. Any ideas on how to solve it? or should I go to the warranty?

I recovery windows from recovry partition and backup dvd and have problem after this:
every time when I try download and save any file to folders like c:\folder1, c:\foldre2 and etc I have message - you dont have permission to save in this location contact the administrator

Dell XPS L501X USB Overload...
Hi all. I have an XPS L501X that just recently had the USB ports BOTH overload. I had nothing else plugged into them, I was trying to use a new flash drive and got the error. I then plugged back in my mouse USB thing in the other USB port (after removing the flash drive) and got the same error. Now neither one is working and I have no clue how to fix it. I'm assuming the flash drive is not good in one way or another, but then why did my mouse USB controller mess up the other one?? I just want my USB ports working again :(

Airplane Mode Switch Driver for Win 7
Hello,
I have installed Windows 7 on my new Inspiron 7537 and managed to install all necessary drivers except one. A hardware component (ID: "DELLABCE") still needs a driver. As I found out its the airplane mode switch, which indeed does not work at the moment. I have downloaded the corresponding driver from the dell site:

but unfortunately it is a Windows 8 driver. Windows 7 is indeed installing the driver but at the end it is protesting that the driver has no signature (or certificate?), although Dell Inc. is visible as the manufacturer in the device manager. Therefore the hardware stays deactivated.
Can anyone help me out with an Windows 7 driver for the airplane mode switch?

Hi I have dell vostro 1014 with windows 7 home premium.I went to bios setup boot sequence and load defaults, after then i cannot go to windows desktop because it keep on restarting.I also cant do safe mode etc. I already launched start up repair and here is the problem details...
