    Hello. Possessing a Dell Latitude E6540, I wanted to update the BIOS. The download of the E6540A21.exe file is going well. But at runtime, I have this error message: "Unable to access the BIOS Monotonic Protocol" I have tried with earlier versions but I have the same error message. If anyone has leads, thank you in advance.

    Hello,

    My Dell Latitude E5270 shuts down abruptly when resuming after sleep on its DELL E-Port Dock.

    The Windows Windows 10 login background with time is displayed for 1 second and the pc crashes immediately.

    Then I have to wait 1 minute to turn it back on.

    Have you ever encountered this problem? I reset my PC today, installed just like new, updated the bios, ... but this problem has not been solved.

    After not having used the laptop for a few months, I powered it on and was applying updates (some pre-1709 cumulative Windows updates).

    Suddenly, the laptop shut down.  I came to notice that the LED on the power supply was dead.  Pressing the battery status light on the latptop gave no battery level (no lights).  I figured the power supply had died and ordered up a new one. 

    The new power adapter arrived, and the LED works.  However, when I plut it in the LED turns off.  It's not until I cycle the power to the adapter (while disconnected from the computer) that the LED returns.  Plugging it into the computer again causes it to turn off. 

    I'm not sure if I got a dud for the new power adapter, or if something is wrong with the computer.  I don't want to sink another $40 into a second new adapter.

    How do these latptops behave when the battery is dead?  Are they still usable when plugged in?

    Any suggestions?

    There's absolutly no mention about the pressure sensitivity level on Dell Inspiron 13 7373 + Dell Active Pen.

    It's very important aspect when choosing touchscreen products with stylus.

    Also, which pens do exactly work with Dell Inspiron 13 7373 and are they all have same pressure sensitivity level?

    I've got a number of 7480 Laptops.  I've been using 2 for testing.


    Same BIOS version and settings, Same OS configuration, No dock attached. both have a power brick and Network Cable attached.

    One laptop will wake with the press of any button on the keyboard, the other will only wake when I press the Power button.

    I'm at a loss to explain why.

    I own a Dell Inspiron 17 5767 laptop, and have encountered the a problem as shown in the image below:

    When I press the left alt key on the laptop, it activates multiple keys, including the F4 key, and forces the windows that I've opened to close. This is not due to other keys being stuck, since I've tried the on-screen keyboard, on which the left alt key works perfectly. The right alt key works as it's supposed to.

    I also tried the left alt key in safe mode, which still malfunctions as shown here.

    Is this due to corrupted registry? Any suggestions?

    I just got my laptop 2 days ago and it almost immediately started doing this to me. When I open the lid all I will see on it are gray lines with the mouse being a square shaped slightly off color gray line area. When it does this I have to completely power down my laptop to make it go away. Once I power it back on again it works perfectly fine though.

    How do I fix this on my own or do I have to send it back to dell since its a faulty laptop? I really don't want to send it back though so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi, Have been reporting an issue to dell on behalf of Warranty update status for my product and I did submit legit invoice of it to get that warranty extension for that product as it was about to expire. But due to some reasons, dell warranty extensions guys reported that This should have to get the update from another department so they assist me how to get it done I did the same. 

    I don't know why that dell representative mislead me that he had done with warranty update. as I had seen now it's been a month but not able to see warranty status till now. 

    This is my first ever Worst experience with dell for a co-operate client.

  • I bought a Dell Inspiron 14 3878 laptop second hand but I cant get into the Bios because it has a password, I have tried to remove the button battery for 10 minutes from the motherboard but it is still there.   • Hello. I own Dell Vostro 5568. Earlier today i was surfing the internet and my laptop just shut down instantly just like that despite the fact that i had completed charging it like 30 minutes before. Seemed weird and i couldnt turn it back on. Then i connected the charger and i could turn it on. I just let it go. An hour later the same thing happened but now i cant turn it back on even with charger plugged in. Even holding the power button does not help. Please what can i do?

  • I went to Dell.com. run the diagnostics test, and everything is working fine. However, the battery is not charging. I do not know if it is a problem of the battery or the A/C adapter. When I bought the laptop, I did not know or check that the battery in these type of laptops is a bit complicated to change.  I appreciate if someone knows what to do about this. The only thing that I have not tried is to take the battery out because it is complicated.  Next time before buying a laptop I will check how easy is to replace a battery, Hopefully, somebody can help me resolve the issue
