I recently purchased an XPS 720. Old machine, but perfect for my needs. The problem is that it will not boot past a warning about the hard drive fan missing or failed. I have to press F1 or F2 keys. I need this computer to run headless and boot without keyboard inputs, so this is really creating an issue.
I don't need the hard drive fan so need to know how to boot without this error.
Any help appreciated.

Wonder if anyone could help please? I have a Dell Inspiron M5040 which I received about 6 or 7 years ago as a Christmas gift, it came with Windows 7 installed but now I have Windows 10 which I upgraded to about 10-12 months ago. Recently I’ve upgraded the RAM from 3GB to 8GB and was wondering if I could make it any faster by upgrading the CPU? The processor which I have currently is an AMD C-60 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 998 MHz. My system type is a 64-bit Operating system, x64 based processor. It’d be great if anyone could tell me what processor upgrade I need to make it faster. Can anyone give me any CPU upgrade suggestions? Also what is the difference between an M5040 and an N5040?

The purpose of this post is to find a way to replace my laptop's motherboard without having to pay a big amount of money.
I've bought my Dell XPS 15 9560 laptop 3-4 months ago and it stopped turning on around the 11th of Sept, 2017.

The laptop had a bios update a week before the incident happened. First, the laptop didn't turn on. Then, after I sent it to a laptop service provider, the laptop started to work but Audio and the Nvidia Card stopped working.
Eventually, the motherboard is completely dead.
I live in Gaza, Palestine. I can't ship the laptop outside my country due to political problems. (I just can't)
I've bought like 4 Dell Laptops for my family since 2015. 2 laptops were mine. I had hardware problems in these 2 laptops. The last one was the above mentioned problem. I simply can't make use of a warranty as I can't ship the laptop out. (I already had hardware problems and the warranty couldn't help me as I needed to ship the laptop).
Now, when I called Dell asking for the price of the motherboard for my 3 months old Dell XPS 15 9560, they asked for $1,400 in the last call. In my first call with their technical support, they said it will cost $260 if the laptop is shipped to them but now they're asking for $1,400.
I just don't know what to do. I've tried plenty of things. I've contacted Dell Parts resellers in Israel and they've asked for $1,500 for the motherboard.
Should I buy another laptop? I love Dell and their products, and I don't wish to stop buying their laptops. But, can someone help?
It would be great if Dell can sell me the motherboard for a reasonable price.
My laptop is Dell Inspiron 5559 i7-6500U 2.5Ghz. As far as I know it has Intel HD520 4GB graphics which is rendering by Readon M5 335 Graphics. Im aware of those GPU settings and all. When I checked my system with CPU-Z it showed as Readon Graphics but since the crimson reLive update this shows as Intel HD 520. Can anybody help me with that.. how to change it back to Readon ?
PS: I have updated both Readon & Intel Drivers to the latest as well as windows 10.
I have 2x XPS 13 9350 laptops. Both are experiencing a weird issue, in that they want to install old versions of drivers and BIOS. For example, i'm running BIOS 1.4.18, yet Dell Update wants to install BIOS 1.0.0! Any ideas why this might be?

it was working fine then one day the battery just won't charge over 60% I've tried changing battery charging profile in the Bios, Drained and recharge, etc. Battery health is "excellent" according to the Dell power manager. Does that mean I need a new battery already?
I replaced my old hard disk because it simply did not work anymore and now when I try to start my laptop, I get the message that there are no boot devices.

The cursor on my computer will work for a random amount of time and then it will mes up.
The only thing that acts normal in the first case is any website in Google Chrome will work but the bar at the top acts as though I am using middle mouse clicks. And I can never keep the window active long enough to try this in the second case.
This happens both with the touchpad and USB mouses.

Hello, I have problems with my Dell Inspiron 11 3162 laptop. The connection by WiFi disconnects by itself after random period of time, then it's not possible to connect to any WiFi network until you reboot the system. Using the latest drivers provided by Dell, Windows 10x64 Home, trying to reinstall the OS from Dell restoring image didn't have any effect.
The problem seems like very common but I haven't found any working solution. Trying to flush DNS and TCP/IP stack doesn't help either...
By the way, trying to plug in a USB WiFi adaptor results in... The same issue. The connection is stable for a random time then spontaneously disconnects and there is no luck to turn it back on unless the laptop is rebooted.
about 3 months ago, i had an issue where my dell inspiron-13 5378 would randomly disconnect from the wifi. i contacted customer support, who took 2 weeks to conclude that i needed to submit my computer to the depot and replace the wifi card. i got the computer back and the wifi would still disconnect, which tells me the problem was not the wifi card. i think i eventually did a system restore or installed some form of an update and the issue went away. or so i thought.
about 2 days ago, my computer was having wifi problems again, so i tried to shut-down/restart and i got the driver power state failure error message. on top of that, yesterday both shift keys stopped working. this is not app-specific, my shift keys work on the touch-screen keyboard. i ran a supportassist on the keyboard and it opened a service request through dell. currently, when i run the wifi troubleshooter, it says there is no wifi driver installed, but when i use the dell driver detect, it does not detect the wifi driver missing, and i can see wifi drivers installed in my device manager. i am only able to connect to the internet using a personal hotspot via USB to my phone.
i am at a loss as to how this all happened in the first place and what my options are. i am skeptical that sending the computer to the dell depot will solve my problems based on previous experience. i do not understand why the system restore still did not solve my wifi problem.
I have a dell inspiron 15 5000 series laptop (5559 series).
Ciore i5 with intel HD Graphics 520 and Radeon R5 M335 graphics.
Recently i noticed horizontal lines starting from left side of the laptop with a slight fade (change) in color displayed on that area. I think its bit greenish however towards right side it seems to be fine and right most end of display is absolutely normal.
I did update all drivers including BIOS but no luck . Seems to be a hardware issue with the panel.
My laptop is under warranty. Can this be repaired under warranty?

I recently performed a clean install of the Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS on a Dell Inspiron N4110 and everything was fine until I checked Device Manager to find that there is a problem with the Bluetooth device. I've attached a screenshot of the Properties window here:
I have searched online for suggested solutions and majority of them suggest that I uninstall, reinstall the driver and then restart. I have done that several times but nothing worked so far. This is my last avenue of help.
Does anyone have any idea what is wrong with my Bluetooth device driver? What are the possible causes of error code 43 for a Bluetooth device?

The last 3 months the touch pad works for a few minutes and quits. i bought a wireless mouse to use,but it hangs up also. I called dell support several times and they use the same scripted approach.The last time i was on for three hours and 4 different people. the first guy got smart with me and i requested someone else. they want let you talk to their supervisor, they send you to one of their comrades to talk to.
I've read several post about the touch pad problem on this forum but, nothing seems to work. does anyone on here have a inspirion 15 7000 with touch pad problems?
Hi, I have a major problem. My small brother grabbed my laptop while I was at work and re- set my windows 8 dell laptop. When I turn it on, a dell logo shows up, and a small bar loads under it. Then it brings it to a black screen with warning messages I believe. I’ve looked up videos on YouTube on how to fix it and it seems that none of them work. I need help!!

I have a Dell M4800 with a Core i7 4900MQ, however I cannot get it to run above 800MHz - even on Prime95. I have tried enabling the high performance power plan but to no avail. CoreTemp is not reporting high temperatures so that is not the issue.
Also the GPU *may* be running at 405MHz when it should be at 666MHz, although I've had conflicting readouts from different programs on that. Again, no high temps.
Does anyone know what the problem might be here?
I've had my 5559 for about 8-9 months. I've tried multiple "solutions" that have worked for others and none are working for me. I've run full diagnostics multiple times and it has come back good every time. I've removed the battery and released the static charge and retried to no avail. I've cleaned the contacts to no avail. I've bought another dell charger and that didn't work either. I've tried all the tips that dell provides to fix charging issues to no avail. I'm at a loss now. I have no idea what else to do. Please help!
I have an Inspiron 5767 and Win 10 with a webcam that's 1280 x 720 (HD). The weird part is that it starts up very low res. I can change the setting to 1280x720 on Cyberlink power directer, but when I go to any other program to use it, it reverts to low quality again.
There are no settings in Skype or Zoom to change it. Any ideas?
