The 4K 7567 Laptop comes with a 512GB SSD. I would like to add another drive, preferably SAD. However both Dell Support and internet sources provide conflicting data on whether another SSD can be added, varying "yes" or "no" between Dell spare parts sales persons. Internet sources are not definitive either.

Questions: Is there an available slot, and if so, is it SATA HDD only (as one Dell person says), or, M.2 ADD compatible, as another Dell salesperson has stated, or, another format?

Another 500gb SSD Is preferable, but, can I go with an HDD, if an additional SDD cannot be added?

Has anyone had experience with this. I just purchased an XPS 15 9560 with a TB16 dock and I'm hoping to use the dock and my old Apple Cinema display, but I can't seem to get the monitor to work in the dock. I purchased an Apple Thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter and the screen works fine when I hook it directly into the laptop, but I get a USB malfunctioned error when I hook it into the dock. Any information or tricks anyone else has found would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

I have a fairly high speed internet service (300Mbps). I have another desktop plug to the same dumb switch and using fast.com to confirm my speed is about what I expect. But, when I test the speed with a XPS 9550 + TB16 ethernet connected to the same switch, I'm only getting around 100Mbps even after I've upgraded to the latest Thunderbolt controller driver and ethernet driver.

Intel-Thunderbolt-Controller-Driver_7X8Y6_WIN_16.3.61.275_A03.EXE

Realtek-USB-GBE-Ethernet-Controller-Driver_3XTRW_WIN_2.43.2017.505_A05_01.EXE

My audio line out is connected to the back of the TB16 as well. The audio started getting some noise after about 30min use and I had to unplug and replug to get rid of the interference. At the end, I had to just not use the audio after the driver failed to re-recognize the connection. But, alas, without the audio connection to the TB16, my ethernet speed is up to 300Mbps again. Also, audio connected to the front headphone jack also slows down my ethernet speed too.

Hope this resolve someone's quest for full ethernet speed from their TB16.

I recently purchased an XPS-15 and the TB-16 dock.  The supplied Thunderbolt cord comes out of the dock on the left side, but the associated port on the laptop is also on the left side.  This results in the dock being behind the laptop precluding easy access to the USB ports on the front of the dock.  Alternatively, I've tried facing the laptop away from me (which works because I'm using a dual monitor setup with nothing on the laptop monitor.  Near the end of the manual for the TB-16 it shows how to remove the cord but Dell apparently doesn't make a longer cord.  Research on Amazon for an extension Thunderbolt cable turned up one, but it is not recognized as a Dell cable.  Thoughts or workarounds?

Previous thread on this issue seems to be closed. 

Dell posted a new driver update that does not resolve the issues.

I would like to keep this thread open for those people still experiencing this issue with no resolution. 

I had a Dell technician come to replace the system board in attempts to resolve this issue but stripped a screw so the issue is still unresolved.

Dell refuses to do anything except waste your time sending in an very expensive laptop with a very expensive warranty.

Extremely disappointed in Dells response to this issue with one of their flagship devices.

HI There,

I just purchased a new XPS 13 2in1. i7. 16gb ram.

It has two usb-c ports. However, one is for the power.

I have a dual monitor set up (DVI and HDMI)

Can I hook up both of them via one USB-c port?

Having an issue where the Bluetooth driver is not letting the laptop sleep or even shutdown - It powers off briefly then an notification sound is played and the laptop is powered back on. I get the following pop up message upon restart 'This operation is not allowed by the group policy set by your administrator'. I run an admin account and have not set any group policy.

I have a dell inspirion 5459 laptop with an i7 processor, but I took the game on my laptop steam instead and I repeat play again, and again my laptop back completely dead. I just use my laptop 6 months, anyone know what part is broken?

A couple of days ago I closed the lid of my xps 15 9550 to come back an hour later and hear the fans on and the laptop was very warm. I opened it and a blue screen appeared titled - "Recovery", with the message "it looks like windows didn't load correctly". This was after simply closing the laptop over to put it into sleep mode. 

Now I've noticed this only happens when the laptop is running off its battery and is not on charge. No matter if I close it or manually put it into sleep mode I have to use the power button for it to start again which leads to the blue screen appearing. At the blue screen if I select restart PC everything seems to work fine. 

I'm puzzled, any suggestions?

Hello,

I've got very big lags each time i'm launching a game.

For instance, launching FIFA 17 in low graphics bring lags after several minutes playing. These appear nearly when fans get awaken.

After killing the game process, lags are still there for some time in all my system.

All my drivers are updated.

These lags appear for all my games.

Is there anyone with the same issue?

I'm planning on upgrading from the 1tb hard disk I have to a ssd.

I would like to know if the xps15 9530 is compatible with the Samsung Evo 850 500GB.

Ok so I have a VERY odd scenario and I wanted to run it past the Dell community to see if my best guess on this is accurate.

The system powers on and works just fin with a 2GB or a 4GB stick in DIMM A.  8GB stick it will not POST.  Now... even stranger... Adding any memory at all to DIMM B (whether DIMM A is filled or not) ALSO causes the system not to POST.  So it seems like the max memory I can have in this system, possibly due to DIMM B being faulty, is 4 GB yet the max supported is 16 so why won't an 8 GB work in DIMM A?

Any thoughts?  Suggestions?  Cause aside from DIMM B being fried and DIMM A only accepting 4GB or lower the system is working fantastic but the person this system is for wants 8GB RAM.  Thanks in advance!

Oh Also, I did update the BIOS and no luck.

The package contains a Dell logo including the name and address of "Dell International Services" as distributor.

 

I would appreciate it if you could confirm the authenticity of the battery purchased online.

Hey everyone,

I have a Precision M6800 Mobile Workstation. I also have a docking station that I use two additional monitors and other devices that I connect with. If I connect the already powered off laptop to the docking station after using the laptop without it, the eject button does not power on. If I power the laptop on while in this state, the devices on the docking station do not connect. Also, the laptop is extremely slow. If I then power off the laptop, disconnect it from the docking station, and reconnect it to the docking station, the eject light illuminates. Then, if I power on the laptop while connected, everything works perfectly.

To recreate this issue:

1. disconnect the laptop,
2. power it on,
3. use it for a while and then power the laptop off,
4. connect the laptop to the docking station, the ejection light does not illuminate,
5. power on the laptop while connected,
6. wait to be able to power it down,
7. disconnect the laptop from the docking station,
8. reconnect the laptop to the docking station, the eject light illuminates,
9. and finally power on the laptop and it works perfectly.

I've updated the laptop with the latest BIOS to no avail. This happens regardless of the OS installed as I've had Linux, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10.

I have a Dell Inspiron17R  N7010. The strangest thing started today. When I close the lid the laptop goes to sleep mode. Which is what I want to happen. When I raise the lid the laptop turns off. This I do not want to happen. I have tried adjusting the power settings and it continues to do this. Any Ideas?

At this moment I live and work in Ukraine.
In this country I cant find any official DELL representative.
So I decided to ask here.
Two weeks ago I've purchased used (but in very good condition) Precision M4800.
And now I have 2 questions about upgrade of my laptop.
1. Can anyone give me a list of supported WWAN modules? Real experience is appreciated! I know about Sierra MC7355, but I think $250 is too much for official and original but outdated WWAN module.

2. I've discovered that my laptop support hardware data encryption. Can I purchase Dell Data Encryption Accelerator Card to enable this option in my laptop? I need hardware encryption / decryption.
Any advice will be appreciated.
