I have a Inspiron 17 5767 its less than 2 weeks old, been working great, but for some reason, no web pages now load. Its affecting all browsers. Mircosoft Edge, Chrome all of them.

My wireless is working perfectly.

On Microsoft Edge the message I get is 

Cannot securely connect to this page

this might be because the uses outdated or unsafe TLS security setting. If this keeps happening contact webistes owner.

Your TLS security setting aren't set to defaults, which could also cause this error.

I have followed a few instructions something about internet options and make sure the are all checked, which they are but still nothing.

I'm not tech minded at all but think its something easy to fix.

can anyone please help.

My dell inspiron N 5110 purchased in 2012 stopped working. On pressing F12, the error message was processor fan not functioning error code: 2000-0511 validation 7902. What could be reason and anybody would help me to resolve?

HELP!!!  Having persistent hardware issues with my integrated camera.  When my top is opened all the way, the camera works fine.  When I begin to lower the top, the camera starts blinking on and off when the lid reaches approximately 90 degrees.  As I continue to lower it, the camera stops working and the camera screen is black.  If I re-open the top all the way, the camera comes back on.

I've updated both the BIOS and the driver.  I've taken off the bezel and disconnected and reconnected the camera just to ensure a tight fit.  The best I can come up with is that there is some kind of "short" in the wire when the lid begins to close.

Any ideas would be MUCH appreciated...THANKS!

I have an Alienware 17 R3, about 12 months old.  A couple of days ago there was a MS update. For a few hours all worked well.  Then my wifi suddenly stopped connecting, and went into airplane mode. Everytime I select WiFi, after a few seconds, the selection goes back to airplane.  I tried what was on the net , without success.   I am typing this an old laptop, which has a faulty keyboard so my attempts may be all over the place. Sorry.  But the wifi on this works ok.  So that's not the problem.

I tried turning off the ability for wifi to be suspended if low activity (a suggestion)
Then I noticed a new update for the Killer driver that was released 2 days ago.  I though great.  But alas, that didn't work. 

Can anyone help?

hello, I used the windows iso from the driver support of my laptop but there are still no complete hardwares in it and it is still completely empty compared to the windows 10 that the hdd came with.

how do I copy the image of the original hdd so I can reinstall windows 10 to the new ssd?

I also found that I can clone the hdd but I still don't have an external adapter or sata to usb. Are there any other ways aside from this? thank you

I have a brand new Dell inspiron 15 5000 series with built in Ubuntu 12.04.

When I tried to install Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit via live cd "The dell recovery media can be used to  restore the original factory software. It is recommended you backup all important data before Running this tool"

"Error this recover media only functions on dell and alienware systems "

And the only one option I can take is" quit".

My Dell Inspiron 15R laptop is 6 years old.  It came with Windows 7 installed.  Service tag 4DHR1N1.

It was auto-upgraded to WIndows 10 when this first came out. 

Since then all the Windows 10 upgrades have worked upgrades have worked OK - until yesterday.

Before this, there had been an unsuccessful attempt to load

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7 for Windows 10 Version 1607 and Windows Server 2016 for x64 (KB3186568)

The first time it tried to upgrade, when I powered up, it went straight to "Restoring your previous version of Windows"

- even though Update History reported the successful installation of

2017-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4025339)

It then asked me to schedule an update installation time.

Following this, when I attempted to start the laptop, I got the Windows logo and spinning dots for a few seconds - then my laptop shut down.  I noticed that the fan was putting out warmer air than usual.

This happened the following 4 times I attempted to reboot the laptop.  Screen live for a few seconds, then shut-down.

On the 6th attempt, I finally got the message "Restoring your previous version of Windows".  And my laptop is now working again.

Is there ANY way I can either stop the automatic update from crashing my computer, or revert to Windows 7?

I have Windows 10 Home, not Windows 10 professional.

Dell told me some time ago that they had not tested this particular laptop for Windows 10 compatability.

Or is the only solution to scrap a perfectly good laptop and buy a new one?

We left the computer on for about 48 hours with no activity on Googlemaps....when went back to use it, the screen was frozen on Googlemaps....wouldn't let us do anything - completely frozen.   Held power button down to turn the computer off...waited an hour....went back.  Turned it on and the Dell logo came up but it just kept spinning....the little round spinner thing just kept spinning and spinning.  We turned off again.  What should we do.  It seemed really hot as well.

Hello,

A few weeks ago i unplugged the ac cable from my Laptop, (Alienware 15R2). As soon as i unplugged it, pc shut down completely. I replugged and restarted it and got a ''battery experienced critical failure, replace battery'' or something like that message from BIOS. Laptop worked fine on cable only.

I ordered and replaced the battery with a new one. The new battery charge fine from 0% to around 65%. After it reaches 65%, the laptop switch between plugged and battery power every 5 seconds. Sometime, it eventually critically crash and close. If i shut down the laptop, it eventually end up charging completely to 100%. When it's at 100%, there is no flickering and everything works fine.

A few things i already tried:

1) Unplugging replugging battery. No change

2) Reinstalling drivers. No change

3) Running SupportAssist diagnostics at 70% and 100%. Every tests passed with success including battery

4) Tried disabling battery desktop mode. No change

5) I did a few cycles of completely discharging and recharging battery for calibration. No change

6) Ran the diagnostics from BIOS at around 75% charge. Battery passed. Spamed battery charger test and got differents results everytime: charging, idle not charging and charger not detected.

7) Ran the diagnostics from BIOS at 100% charge. Everything passed with success including charger.

Something is wrong somewhere wether it's damaged charger, dc jack, motherboard or faulty battery and i'd like to find out what it is before i drop 100$+ on a new charger of worse on a new laptop or motherboard or something else. Is there anything i could do to find the faulty component(s)?

Presently i am using a Dell Vostro 15 3000 series laptop.

Configurations : Core I5 6200U

                          4GB Ram

                          1TB HDD

                          WINDOWS 10 Home Single Language

But it is getting too much time to bootup and most of time hdd usage also 100%.

I have tried several defragments by smart defrag and windows inbuilt disk defragment.

But not yet solved the problem. please guide me.....

Hello, after a positive experience with my first Dell (an XPS 9360) I have just ordered the XPS 9560. I’m wondering if I will get it with a Toshiba or Samsung SSD drive, just hoping to be lucky enough to get the latter (we shouldn’t invoke luck for a 2000+ € laptop :-))

Hello, 

I was wondering if anyone else has been getting electrical tingles from the XPS 15 9550.

When I am using the laptop on my laps with shorts on, I will get the electrical shocks / tingles (enough that it hurts after 10 seconds if i do not move the laptop) on the skin 3-5 inches above my knees.

I also get them on my forearms ( palm side )  laying on the right or left side of the computer keyboard ( outer edges of the laptop).

The tingles are equivalent to putting your tongue on a 9 volt battery but a much stronger and sharper shock. 

This is extremely uncomfortable and was wondering if anyone else is having this issue?

Started having problems this winter. Wouldn't turn at all, then I got it to turn on and now it is doing it again. I tried taking the battery out, hold the power button down for the 30 seconds still nothing. Help

I have a Dell Inspiron 3558 1TB HDD 

Lately maybe due 80 % usage of HDD, my laptop is

my laptop is soooooooo slow that it takes almost 2 minutes to boot

I am thinking of extending my storage by adding an SSD

BUT I even don't want to lose my data

I have browsed and I can only replace the HDD with SSD(My financial status is not so good to buy a 1 TB SSD)

suggest me a way that I can have my previous HDD and a new SSD(where I will install my os)

My friend was suggesting something about SSHD(solid-state hybrid drive) by Seagate

Hello everyone, I bought a dell laptop from Ebay a few weeks ago as I really wanted one but during the first week I replaced the thermal compound as their was almost none left. When I put the computer back together I got a processor error code, I checked to make sure everything was in place and indeed it was but after a few restarts the computer actually booted to my os with no issues, the computer ran perfectly fine till I shut it down and attempted to power the system on again, the same error was occurring so when I pressed the power button to shut the computer down it restarted ad booted to the os just fine. It still functions fine as I'm typing on it right now but the problem still on occasion persists.

Any help would be appreciated as I need this laptop in good working order for image processing.
