Post Windows 10 Creators Update, there have been several issues affecting the Dell Inspiron 7567.

I've made several posts on this forum and the Nvidia forum outlining my issues:

CPU throttling while system is being stressed (Aida64: CPU+GPU stress test replicates this issue within the first 2 minutes).  See the attached video demoing the issue:

I've discovered with the assistance of Yan(MELSunny) from this forum (a user who recently purchased the i7 variant of this laptop) that the throttling is caused by the later builds of Windows 10 (creators update).  WIN10 build 14393 is confirmed to be working without these issues.

If you expect to play any video games on this "gaming" laptop, you CANNOT update your operating system.  If you enable windows update, Microsoft will pull the latest build immediately causing your system to become unstable and throttle for no reason.

I HOPE Dell reads this and works with Microsoft to address this in future Win10 builds.  If any of you are experiencing this issue, roll back your OS or reformat.

(this thread follows this one)

I installed "Dell Command | Power Manager" (v 2.2.0).

In "Thermal Management" when switching between the 4 presets (Optimized, Cool, Quiet and UltraPerformance) it seems that only the first change is working.

For example : 

If I boot with Ultra Performance and decide after to go to Quiet to get rid of fan noise, it works, almost instantly. I monitor what happens with my ears [I] and with HWiNFO64 and BurnIn Test :

In Ultra Performance all Core Clock are not maxed, reached 3792 MHz (that's the Turbo Speed for Intel Core i7-7560U @ 2.40GHz) and Fan at 6100 RPM

In Quiet each Core Clock seems maxed at ~1696 MHz (although in some of my tests I have seen it at ~2395Mhz, perhaps it's Optimized preset and not Quiet) and CPU Fan at 0 RPM

After that If I choose Ultra Performance mode nothings happens. CPU sticks to the maxed Core Clock until I reboot.

Very annoying to have to reboot to switch back to another thermal mode.

i dont know why dell is still using the 42whr battery for its inspiron 7000 series model.... Due to this i am experiencing poor battery backup.. is there anyway to upgrade battery for my dell 7560 .

When I first turn on my laptop it's did nothing but go to a black screen… In F 12 boot mode I got a few options to choose from  but I have no idea which one I should choose.

I just started learning more about computers so PLEASE help me out!

I have recently bought an SSD(Sandisk SSDPLUS), and now when I boot the computer it starts emitting a high pitched noise and it continues until I reboot the computer. I have also tried placing the SSD in another computer and everything works as intended. I have also tried placing the old HDD into the laptop and no problems occur.

Has anyone else had this kind of problem?

Hi

Recently, I had to re-install WIndows 10.

After re-installing, I noticed that SLEEP option is not working properly. Before re-installing, closing the lid used to stop all the applications and computer used to turn off. But now, the computer's power light + fan remain ON. Putting the laptop in my bag suffocates it and thereby the body of the laptop becomes quite warm.

I tried with hibernate option, no change. Even if I select Shut Down from start menu, power light + fan are still on !

Hi there

I've had an XPS 9560 i7/16/512/4k for about 2 weeks now and I've stumbled across a problem.

I just tried to COPY/PASTE a large folder (120GB or so) from within my documents, locally stored on the machine, to another folder stored locally in my documents. 

I'm having an issue whereby, every so often, for 10-15 minutes, it will get stuck on a write speed of 0bps. Then it will magically speed up to more normal levels. Is it normal with a file this size or should the speed be more consistent throughout the process?

Hi,

My Dell XPS 15 9550 keeps waking itsef up randomly, all the time. I've had this problem from the begining and I don't know what to do.

I will put it to sleep by closing the screen or pressing the power button. It will go to sleep, but a few minutes later, it will be awake again.

How can I find out what is causing this and stop it?

This is infuriating so please excuse me if this post is crude in tone:

Computer:  Dell Inspiron 15, 7000 Series

A month ago I started seeing my laptop was locking its keyboard and trackpad without me asking. I diagnosed the problem as the laptop going into tablet mode without my asking, so I went into the keyboard settings and adjusted the keyboard lock to "Never lock keyboard and touchpad." (By the way that option took WAY too long to find, and that issue took way too long to diagnose. I ended up wiping the computer thinking there was a driver issue. Consult your UX person about how terrible the signaling is (or fire her if she thought it was a good idea to lock the keyboard without my input and not provide an easy way to undo it)).

That keyboard setting solved my problem until last night....

A Dell update went through last night and I came back this morning to see my keyboard and touchpad are once again locked. I went into the keyboard settings and the "Never lock keyboard and touchpad" radio button is still checked! When I pick up the laptop, it undoes the lock. This unlocked the keyboard temporarily, but the laptop has a mind of its own and just re-locks the keyboard when it feels like it.

To be clear, this is what happens:

• Keyboard locks (indicated by the notification "Autorotate On")
• I pick the laptop up, and turn it sideways, keyboard unlocks
• I place it back down, or I plug the power back in, and the keyboard locks ("Autorotate On")
• Keyboard Lock setting reads "Never lock my keyboard and touchpad"
• Also, the "Temporarily unlock keyboard and touchpad" button does nothing.

This is what I want to happen:

• I want my keyboard to never lock under any circumstance, ever. It's a laptop and I use it as such. It sits on a table and doesn't move, and it never gets put into tablet configuration unless this problem occurs.

I have an XPS L702X. yesterday I was replacing the ram and on one of them the clips broke completely off. I put both sticks in and the computer read them. I suppose the only way to fix this wold be to replace themotherboard? I had had the dell depot replace replace the motherboard back in December. Is there a warranty on replaced parts?

I ordered Dell original Battery from Flipkart. The package looks original. It has Dell logo on it. When i opened the package it has a Spelling Mistake "Li-iom" instead of "Li-ion" and it has PPID of DP/N F287H. The Text on the battery is small and much detailed as on my previous old battery. So i want to know is this original?

I was given the Dell Inspiron 5720 laptop.  Upon testing it cannot connect to my 5GHz Wireless.  After further researching the wireless card in the laptop is only configured for 2.4GHz Wireless.  

My home Wifi has dual band 2.4 and 5.0 GHz.  someone suggested i replace the card with something like this:

it all started after i changed my display hinge. if i close my laptop lid it wont go to sleep. I have also made all the changes in power setting but to no avail. I use ubuntu and windows 10 , in both the cases suspend in closed lid is not working .So my guess is something is wrong with the lid sensor can anyone tell me how to tackle this issue ? Also can anyone tell me location of the lid sensor.

I use DELL Inspiron 3521 Notebook PC for last 4 years. Last week unfortunately PC was not turn on. When I try to plug in charger as assuming battery dead, power indicator LED on laptop was not light. Then I  try to make an query on Google and had a solution on DELL community support site. According to instructions suggested problem was due to STATIC ELECTRICITY, PC could not be turn on. So I remove battery and plugged in charger and pressed power button. Laptop turned on. But when afterwards of power button was preseed for 30sec and tried to turn on with AC power, PC was not got on. And I noticed that when try to connect charger, LED indicator on chager(green color) was vanished. Currently PC completely do not response. What should be my next move??

I recently received a Precision 3520. About a quarter of the time, if I press a multi-key shortcut (e.g. Ctrl+Win+Left/Right to switch virtual desktops or Alt+Shift+',' in emacs) the computer drops one or both of the modifier keys and doesn't recognize the shortcut (e.g., in emacs, it will recognize just Alt+',' or even just ','). It happens when I press the control keys simultaneously but not if I press one then the other.

Can anyone else with a Precision 3520 tell me if this happens to them? I am going to return this unit but I am unsure if buying a different one will fix the problem.

Reading, e.g. this thread, (and also given some other smaller problems I have with the unit), I am wondering if the 3520 line is just poorly constructed, or if I got unlucky.

I have a Inspiron 17 5767 its less than 2 weeks old, been working great, but for some reason, no web pages now load. Its affecting all browsers. Mircosoft Edge, Chrome all of them.

My wireless is working perfectly.

On Microsoft Edge the message I get is 

Cannot securely connect to this page

this might be because the uses outdated or unsafe TLS security setting. If this keeps happening contact webistes owner.

Your TLS security setting aren't set to defaults, which could also cause this error.

I have followed a few instructions something about internet options and make sure the are all checked, which they are but still nothing.

I'm not tech minded at all byt think its something easy to fix.

I can't open my settings. I thought it was because of the dell updates(how do you turn it off if it's automatic?) But after it was done I still couldn't get it to open. It opens for a second and then closes.
