Microsoft Arc Touch bluetooth Mouse constantly disconnects when using with latitude 7250

I have a problem with my Microsoft Arc Touch Bluetooth Mouse Surface Edition  constantly disconnecting from my PC. It works perfectly with my Lenovo and desktop PC yet will not play nicely with my Latitude. It works for a while and then stops working and I have to turn off bluetooth and pair it again.

I've updated all the bluetooth drivers and researched all the forums but so far no resolution.

Anyone had any similar problems that they have resolved?

Laptop won't boot after updates

For the last few months, my laptop will not boot after installing updates from Windows. It stays on the Dell BIOS screen until I press F12 and run diagnostics. It runs and finds nothing wrong, then I reboot again and the laptop boots fine. The updates appear to have been installed successfully. Any thoughts?

How to Disable a Dell Laptop Function Key

I recently (June 2017) bought a Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567computer with Windows 10 installed.

My problem is that I need to do this operation that I mention and I can not do it since the Bios contains the Function Key Behavior

1. Restart your Dell laptop.

2. Watch the boot screen. Look for the notation at the bottom instructing you to "Press the XX key to enter system BIOS." In most Dell laptops, this will be noted as the "F2" key, but this may differ on your system. When the message appears, hold down the appropriate key to enter the BIOS screen.

3. Navigate to the "Advanced" tab by pressing the right arrow key.

4. Scroll down to "Function Key Behavior" on the "Advanced" tab by pressing the down button. Press "Enter."

5. Press the up/down arrow keys to move the selection to "Multimedia Key First."

6. Press "F10" to save your settings and exit.

7. Allow the system to reboot for the changes to take effect.

Question: How can I make these changes

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Richard

Dell Inspiron 14z (5423) Switchable graphics, not switching.

Problem:

I can't get the graphics to switch to use the AMD dedicated card when 3D applications are being run. This has been confirmed by disabling the AMD card in device manager and seeing no difference from when it's enabled. It's also been confirmed by using utilities like HWMonitor that show no activity on the AMD card when running demanding 3D apps. Both cards exist in device manager

What I've tried

  • Installed the latest drivers from ATI, switchable graphics options are there but they don't switch
  • Removed both drivers in safe mode and allowed Windows to install the default ones. Using this method shows not switchable graphics options and it never worked.
  • Removed both drivers and installed the ATI driver from the Dell driver page (There's not one for Intel HD 4000). Switchable graphics option is there, but does not switch.
  • I've checked that Catalyst is setup correctly with the correct performance and power plans, to no avail. I've even tried the options to force high performance and they don't work.
  • I've tried solutions for my laptop and related hardware, to no avail:

Hardware & OS:

Dell Inspiron 14z (5423)

Intel HD 4000

AMD Radeon HD 7570M

Windows 10 Home 64-Bit

Low CPU benchmark scores on Precision 5520

I recently purchased a Dell Precision 5520 with the following hardware: i7-7820HQ, 32GB RAM, M.2 PCIE 512GB, Quadro M1200. I noticed performance issues with the laptop - simple things like a lag sometimes between when I typed on the keyboard and when things actually appeared on screen. Generally slow performance with simple tools like PgAdmin, etc. Subsequently, I ran benchmark tests (PassMark, Geekbench, and others) and I find that my CPU scores are dismal - about a 1/4 of what they should be. I did a couple of things to isolate the problem: (1) updated the bios and switched off sidestep, (2) complete reformat and reinstall of the latest recovery image from Dell, (3) all windows 10 updates and driver updates through command center, (4) configured power option in Windows to "High Performance" and plugged in the a/c adapter, (5) removed all peripherals - basically back to stock, out-of-the-box factory image except the Intel Sidestep setting in the bios. Again, no improvement - low CPU benchmark scores (Passmark CPU score - 2424). See attached image for details. I'm not sure what else to do? Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

I ran battery report on my XPS 13 2-in-1 (9365). I'd like to know if the capacity drop from 45.9mWH to 39.9mWH in less than three months is ordinary or a sign to complain that battery is defective?

My E7440 latitude gets heated up at left hand top corner near the fan and the battery backup is only 1hr45 min max.  I planned to run VM on this but wonder how it would perform.

I had updated all drivers from Dell site and its on latest windows 10 and is updated.

XPS 15 9560 - Squeaky Space Bar

Hello,

I noticed a similar previous post regarding the XPS 15 9550.

I experience the exact same thing, I bought my DELL XPS 15 9560 (7818) less than two weeks ago and I too (as described in earlier post) experience a problem with the space-bar. It produces an extremely annoying, intolerable, high pitched squeak noise on every stroke. I wouldn't expect that from a machine that is considered to be high-end product. :(

Did anyone bumped into a solution for this issue?

Thanks,

Sharon.

Inspiron 15R SE 7520 IRST Failed RAID

Looking at a laptop for a friend for basic cleanup etc and noticed that on boot there is an issue in the IRST screen after entering CTRL+I.

The RAID Volumes shows ID 0, NAME Volume0, Level RAID0 (Stripe) Strip 128KB, Size 59.6GB, Status Failed, Bootable NO

Physical devices shows:

ID 0 <HD info> Size 931.5 GB, type NON-RAID disk

ID 1 Samsung SSD PM83, Size 29.8 GB, type Member Disk (0)

When I look at the iRST GUI in windows it shows the missing member.

What member is required and how do I recreate the RIAD  it is looking for.

Is it required for using the SSD as a cache disk and for accelerated disk?

What is down side other than an annoyance?

Can't get blotooth to work

I have Vostro 3550 with Windows 7.

The device manager shows Toshiba Blotooth with no drivers installed. Automatic driver update failed. Could you please tell me how to install it manually or how to solve this problem otherwise. I couldn't find a proper driver on Dell website nor on Toshiba website. There is something like "Let me choose from the driver list on my computer", but there are many of them including a few Toshiba ones. I am afraid I will mess up if I pick a wrong one".

My Windows is in polish language.

Thank you in advance for help.

Keyboard backlight issue

Hi!

I am experiencing issues with keyboard backlight on my laptop Vostro 5468 running Ubuntu 17.04. On battery it works normally (waits 1 minute to turn it off). On AC keyboard backlight turns off automatically after 1 second or less if I didn't touch the touchpad or keyboard. The same issue was on Ubuntu 16.04 and 16.10.

XPS 12 Ultrabook - Pluged in but not charging

I have a XPS 12 Ultrabook with windows 10 and recently it has stopped charging.  By reading some of the other posts I have tried to make it charge to 100% by clicking in desktop mode and then restarting the computer.  I then got an error on bootup that the battery charging was temporarily diabled.  I hit continue to see if I still got the error of plugged in but not charging and it was still there.

Next I looked at the health of the battery and it said that my battery was good so I rebooted my compter and went into the BIOS.  Here I looked at battery health and it said the following:

"This battery is temporarily disabled, please turn off the computer, reseat the AC adapter and try again when the unit is back to operational temperature."

Now when I am writing this I had just taken it out of my bag, plugged it in and turned it on.  It was within operational temperatures.  Not sure how to reset this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dell 7280 touchpad not working in Windows 7. Driver on website not compatible.

We started using a new model Dell 7280 from our global agreement. The touchpad doesn't work in Windows 7, only Windows 10 environment.

The Windows 7 driver from the Dell website just gives an error saying its not compatible when you run it.

I also did the KB that there is about it but installing this other driver as instructed doesn' twork.

Do you know if there is any fix for this?! We have loads of machines we need to get out!!
