(INSPIRON 5559) CRACKLING SOUND WHEN UNPLUGGING ADAPTER, WHY?

0
0

I recently bought a Dell inspiron 5559 (June 1, 2017). I then noticed that whenever I play audio like music or videos and plug the adapter out, I would hear a crackling sound, sounds as if its coming from the speakers. When I pause the sound and unplug then play audio the sound is made so I'm guessing the problem seems to exist whether I play audio or not. No matter where I plug the adapter out, it makes that sound. I'm worried that it might destroy the laptop, or that this is a defect that might start a fire if its a lack in how the adapter was made. It is a 45 w adapter according to what is labelled on it. sometimes i get a message saying "adapter is not recognized. system performance will be impacted etc" and I guess it happens if I don't plug the cord in properly? or is it not suppose to say that at all? Nonetheless, my main worry is the sound the laptop makes when I unplug the adapter. It goes on for maybe 3 or 4 seconds and sounds like a radio transceiver. Please comment if you know what this means, Thank you.

Trackpad pops up on XPS 15 9550 (and Dell's poor response)

I'm pretty thoroughly confused by Dell's behavior in claiming that the elevated trackpad problem described  in numerous posts here is not a "known issue." It's popped up (no pun intended) on Dell's own forums umpteen times; how is it a hardware defect that's not known?

I'm curious to see how others have solved this problem, and if they've had to do it on their own or if Dell finally acknowledged a defective part/design? As Dell seems to be denying the existence of what is clearly a well-known problem (and as their customer service people are utterly inane about this when I call), complaining to an agency may be my only recourse. Thanks for the help.

Dell Inspiron 13 No bootable device found.

Guys,

Last year, I decided to splurge on a new laptop ahhh my Dell is a beauty!

Last week, I turned it on and it said,"SupportAssist is running a scan to detect potential harware problems." I really didn't think anything of it but then I got the following message."No bootable device found."

For days I have researched to find a solution but I only found outdated post. I feel like I've tried wverything and can not solve the issuse maybe I am doing something wrong???

I have been changin my my boot mode multiple times.

When I change it to UEFI I get the following message, "Hardware scan complete with no isssues. No bootable device found! Possible causes could be a corrupt OS image or a boot device is not enabled fo BIOS Set up"

When I change it to Legacy it says, "Hardware scan complete with no issues."Then when I restart it....it goes on a constant loop of, "No bootable device found please press a key..."

I have also run the diagnostics and it says everything in my system is fine. I don't think it's a virus because I use my Kaspersky religiously lol.

I also found recent post on here where people where dealing with the same issue with the Inspiron models.

Help! My XPS L502X Laptop works when using AC Power, but the battery will not charge. Battery indicator light on the machine flashes in sequence 'yellow-yellow-yellow-yellow-white' and when I hover over the battery indicator on the taskbar it reads "0% available (plugged in, not charging)"

Is the battery shot? Or should I try something else??

DELL Latitude E7470

I recently got a new DELL Latitude E7470, and it has an issue with high-pitched noise coming out from somewhere inside. I see from different forum posts that this issue was discovered as early as May/June 2012 and it is still out there. I assume this might be "standard", but people don't notice it due to the frequency.

I LOVE this laptop in every aspect possible; the lightweight construction, premium feel and solid performance. But I'm often in very quiet areas with this machine, and the noise drives me insane.

I have already tried to flash BIOS to the latest version according to your advice from another post, but the noise is still there.

Could you take care of this issue please?

When I close my Dell, it switches off, it does not matter if it's been 5 minutes or  2 hours. What the problem could be? How can I solve it?

Thanks!

XPS 13 Motherboard failed for the second time

I bought a XPS 13 laptop just over a year ago and tonight, the motherboard failed for the SECOND time. I had the motherboard replaced by Dell in December 2016 and the new motherboard placed by the Dell technicians about 6 months ago has already failed. After spending over $2,000 on a new high-end computer, you can imagine how frustrated I am, especially since I depend on the laptop for work every day. It is ridiculous that this new machine has had two major failures in just over a year, when it should last much longer.

I spoke with tech support and my warranty expired last month, so they expect me to pay $250 for the repair, which is certainly disappointing. I am wondering if anyone has had an issue like this before and might know who I can talk to about possibly overriding the warranty situation to have the motherboard replaced. Thanks for any help!

My WIFI speed is slow in my second home

I have an Inspiron 15 3000 Series. When I first bought it, my condo complex installed AT&T wireless with speed of approx. 100 Mg., which I got on this computer.

However, in my other residence, with Verizon Fios internet, I get 9.45Mbps Download Speed and 22.66 Mbps Upload Speed.

To compare, my IPhone gets 41.16 Mpbs Download Speed and 55.06 mbps Upload speed.

My question is why is my computer wifi so slow?

Dell XPS 15 9550 Swollen Battery/Raised Track Pad

0

Hello,

The track pad on my Dell XPS 15 9550 had been raised or lifted, making it nearly impossible to click down on. Upon bringing my computer to the Microsoft Store, it was revealed the battery is swelling, which is pushing up on the track pad from underneath. The computer is a few months out of warranty.

This is presumably unsafe, and a problem that many other people have encountered and expressed concern about on this forum. There is clearly a problem with these batteries. This should clearly be considered a "Known Issue" and the batteries replaced.

I guess my questions are (1) is this classified as a "Known Issue", and if not, (2) what is the rationale, given the frequency?

I can reference several other posts referencing the same issue to provide evidence of the high frequency of this problem, if needed.

Thank you.

My laptop had a motherboard failure, got it replaced by dell under warranty. on boot up got this error instead of McAfee security login. I red few posts and saw other users using "Changing disk to AHCI from RAIN ON in BIOS" does the trick. I want to know that by doing that is there a risk of loosing HDD data? My HDD is working fine and dont have a back up. any help appreciated.

Fingerprint sensor on laptop without fingerprint possibilities?

Hi, I'm a happy owner of a Dell E5270 and on The base plate there's a fingerprint sensor. However, when I install the recommended drivers there are no biometric devices. What is visible (in device manager) is Dell Control Vault w/o fingerprint sensor. Is it possible that there is a sensor but that The system lacks the optional fingerprint unit inside the laptop housing? There are no exclamation Marks in the device manager. Thx!

Hi. I have a Dell inspiron 15-7559. And sometimes it accidentally goes to sleep. I don't press keyboard buttons at this moment, usually I scrolling thru web pages or just looking to the screen.

After going to sleep, it doesn't want to wake up and it lasts about 3-5 minutes every time. Battery/AC adapter-  doesn't matter, happens on both configs.

How can I troubleshoot it?

graphic card for intel m380 not working on dell inspiron N4010

hi,

I have a Dell Inspiron n4010  laptop and as soon as I launched games on it, it shows this message(image down below).

I later found that there was no problem in the system, all the drivers were up to date rather the graphic video card wasn't downloaded. So I download the specific intel graphic card, installed it and restarted the laptop. it started to work as I expected it to and the games to ran well but later the next day, I found out that my laptop was not able to start. It needed a startup repair and after the repair was made, the graphic card was uninstalled. So it is now back to the same condition.

please help.

thanks

Latitude E6540: seems to need constant re-imaging

Hey all,

Before I go calling technical support, was hoping that some community members might be able to drop some advice on this. I've had my Latitude E6540 for a few years now, and I find that ever since Windows 10, he's been needing reimages like every three or so months. Needless to say, I find this a little unsettling, since performance overall is good, but it's the little things, like I'm unable to add my Exchange account into Outlook 2016; ShellCommon.dll keeps crashing. Surprisingly, that's the only thing that seems to happen, though in all honesty, shouldn't be happening to begin with. I also notice little things such as the audio disappearing when I have USB headset plugged in (often requires a restart to get it back.) What do you think? Common for these models? Also note, that this device wasn't born on Windows 10; he's run the gammet from Win 7, to 8, to 8.1, to 10 (all enterprise). 10 is the only OS in which I've seen this. Thanks for any advice you have; appreciated. I've never had a quality issue with these computers; I even rescued a Dell Latitude D630 which a friend of mine was going to throw out; they perform equally well, for reference.
