How to use Computrace on Vostro 5468
I stumbled upon the computrace option in the BIOS in my Vostro 5468 and enabled it. However, I do not see any difference after booting the PC. Is the something else we need to install/purchase in order to be able to use Computrace in this PC ?

Dell Inspirion wont let me past charger warning even tho it says "Strike f1 to continue"
Like in the title, i know i dont have a dell charger and they are locked with dell charger ID's, but i cant get one for a while, but when the warning message comes up it says "Strike F1 to continue" i press it.... nothing happens, if i press it too many times it starts beeping whenever i press a key. Any help would be highly appreciated

Wi-Fi on Dell Inspirion 15 3537
Please help! I have laptop Dell Inspirion 3537.
On the laptop stopped working Wi-Fi. It is ceased to find any network, as if turned off. I've tried everything, from fn+f2 to reinstalling drivers and Windows.
The most amazing thing is that on Linux everything works.
In what can be the case, why does not the wi-fi work on the Windows?

Dell XPS L502x WLAN wiring
My hard drive died in my XPS L502x. So i put a new SSD in. However, i accidentally unplugged most of my WLAN cables. For some reason my laptop has two cards in this area an loads of wires (the other card is by AVer Media), all of the online tutorials have one card and two wires. Because of this i do not know how to reconfigure this area and get wifi back on my computer.
I can post pictures if need be.

Dell Inspiron 5452 Laptop - POWER BUTTON DOES NOT RESPOND - Please help?
Hello.
I am hoping for some assistance in getting my Inspiron 5452 Laptop restarted. After my last use, the power button does not work. I have checked all of the normal culprits - ac adapter, etc. The power button does not even depress.
If anyone knows of an alternate way to power on the laptop, i would really appreciate the steps to do so.

Inspiron 754 - BATTERY issues after only 1 year!?
Hi everyone,
I bought a Dell laptop (Inspiron 754) in late 2015 in the US. After about a year the computer started acting weird. It would restart all of the sudden, the battery was really weak. I contacted Dell just to find out that the warranty JUST expired!
Here's some details:
- The diagnosis went well, everything passed the system "test". Even the battery (so weird)
- When i unplug the charger while connected to the laptop, the computer shuts down.
- When i connect the laptop with the charger,i can start/turn on the computer but it will randomly shut down, sometimes after 2 min and sometimes 4 hours.
The 1 thing that all of the sudden changed, the same day my computer started with this issue is THE charging overview bar in the corner of the screen (task bar/toolbar?) It keeps saying the same %.
It says " 72% avaliable (plugged in charging)". Another thing i tried to take a closer look at was the Dell Power Manager lite, it tells me that the battery health is "excellent".
I am not sure to do here. i guess i have two options. 1) Get someone professionel to look at my laptop OR 2) Buy a new computer , either way it is probably gonna cost a lot of money! It makes no sense that i have problems with this laptop after ONE YEAR! I would expect a little more from computers in 2017! i mean come on....we send people to space and build self-driving cars but most electronics we buy can't last more than 1-3 years. .what ..
Have someone experienced the same?

Right button of the touchpad works as the left one
Hi!
I've bought the new Dell Vostro 3568 with Ubuntu but I'd decided to install Mint 18.1.
Now the right button of my touchpad works like I am clicking on the left one.
How can I fix this problem?
P.S. When I have reversed the mouse for the left-handed, the both buttons became "right" with menu function.
P.S.S. In Windows-10 the touchpad works properly.

Closing a .txt file.
I create a .txt file in Notepad.
Click on the "X" in the upper right corner, get "Do you want to save changes to Untitled?"
Click "Save", Insert "File name", click "Save".
The popup with the new File name closes, but the text file itself remains.
I've never experienced this before. In all previous computers and Windows versions, both close when I click "Save".
Is this a Dell computer issue or Windows 10 issue?
(If it is a Windows 10 issue, what is the solution to have them both close?)

How serious about event 17 WHEA-Logger? Can these errors lead to consequences in the future?
Notebook Dell Inspiron 7359 2-in-1, the same on the other 2 laptops. The event appears every second and clogs the entire event viewer. It is revealed that the source of the wifi module. When you turn it off, errors disappear. Wythi works well. Browsing the Internet revealed that event 17 occurs in many laptop manufacturers, and the reason for this are different Wifi modules, and the solutions are different. Bios and drivers were updated to the latest versions on the site dell. At dell what that the self-made driver, as at installation and realtek and cisco, etc. Were installed. no wireless with Debian, Fedora, or TrueOS but ok with old Knoppix or Porteus OSes
Wi-Fi is nonexistent when TrueOS or Fedora 25 Linux are installed or Fedora 20 or 25 is live or Debian 8.8.0 is installed but works fine when old Knoppix 7.2 is either installed or run live or with Porteus 1.1 64-bit running live on the same laptop. These are all Linux except that TrueOS is FreeBSD. In nonroot TrueOS (version of 2017-04-21), I tried treating my usual home network as hidden but that only got me a profile, not a connection, although the icon is on the Lumina desktop. TrueOS > SysAdmin: Update Manager (127.0.0.1) window > Updates tab > Latest Check > "System is up to date!!" implies Internet access works but I think that message is probably an error, especially since the title bar shows a loopback address. In Fedora, the wireless icon is missing from the desktop panel, wireless is not in the network app, and it doesn't work. Debian with the Xfce desktop in nonroot (root was unreachable) didn't see any wireless. (I didn't test TrueOS root since I had to replace it with Debian but would like to reinstall TrueOS.) All this is on a refurbished Dell Latitude E4300 laptop, recently bought, all single-boot. I never tried Windows, which I erased. I'd rather do my own repairs. What should I fix in the laptop or is it entirely an OS or app issue?

Fingerprint login not working - Latitude E5470 - any ideas?
This Latitude E5470 is quite new, but out of warranty, but the fingerprint has never worked properly.
It works sometimes, but mostly not. I've tried re-doing the fingerprint recognition several times, but it keeps telling me that it might need cleaning. I have to put in the pin number most of the time. Its terrible.
My 5 year old Vostro works fine, but this new laptop is really bad - this was an expensive laptop, I'm really disappointed.
It didn't work with Win7 and Win10.
Any ideas on how to fix this.
Should I reinstall the driver (how do I do this?), replace the fingerprint pad - anything else?

Dell N5010 fan not working
I have a Dell Inspiron N5010. I have noticed that the fan was not working hence leading it to shut down automatically to prevent it from overheating and damaging the components. I have seen a few fans online that I could purchase. However, I am worried about their authenticity and life of the fan since it is not a Dell original fan.
Can I get a Dell fan from somewhere in india?

Reassurance the CPS 15 2017 version is reliable
Hello Folks,
This is my first post here. I ordered a top-spec XPS 15 and it was faulty - would not connect to the internet during initial setup. I sent it back the next day and got the refund. the thing is I had a similar experience last year with an Inspiron, sent back the day after delivery due to poor build quality control.
So, how reliable are these XPS machines in general right out the box? Is there really such a problem with the Killer wireless cards that is suggested widely on the internet?
I replace my computer every 12-18 months and have never experienced a faulty new laptop before with other brands. I am a little worried to try Dell for a third time given my poor luck with them so far.
Any comments would be much appreciated to help me decide. I am also looking at the Lenovo Thinkpad now as an alternative, but aesthetically would prefer the Dell.

i bought a dell 7567 it has backlight bleeding on all four corners and on horizontal and vertical sides also.will dell fix it?. even at 0 brightness there is bleeding on four corners not much as full brightness. it is bleeding even at jalf brightnes
