I cannot encrypt with bitlocker the new model 5480.
"The trusted plateform module on this computer does not work with the current BIOS"
I updated the version of the BIOS to 1.3.3 but it doesn't fix it.
Do you know more about that ?

Help !!!Dell Inspiron 17R 7720 SE won't turn on after cleanup
So I won a Dell Inspiron 17r 7720 SE since 2012. Service Tag HG3VFT1 . Recently I encountered problems with the Nvidia GPU 650m . I was not getting detected by my pc.Even the latest official drivers won't recognise it.So I concluded that a cleanup of the inside would solve the issue.Moreover the laptop was also running quite hotter.So last night I took apart my laptop following a video guide from PartsPeople.com cleaned it up with rubbing alcohol ,replaced the thermal paste with Arctic Silver compound.And put it back.Frankly it was easier than I thought.But after everything the laptop won't turn on.There's nothing ...no beeps,no less nothing .It's just dead.

Problem when trying boot from a USB drive
Hi,
I received my Dell Ispiron 17-5759 and, unfortunatelly, I`m having a lot of trouble trying to install a Linux system in dual-boot with the pre-installed Windows 10 using a Kingston 2 Gb flash drive.
I`ve tried to create a bootable USB Drive using both the Win32 and Rufle and both the Linux Mint 18.1 and Ubuntu 16 (both 64 bits).
I already try to do the following:
1 - Disable fast start up in Windows
2 - Disable security boot and UEFI and load from the USB drive, and from this get a message like fall to load operating system. Press any key to reboot.
3 - Let the UEFI on, and in this case the windows load instead of the Linux system in USB drive.
4 - Try to add another option inside the UEFI configurations in boot menu, but I cannot select other device.
How can I solve this? I think that an USB boot is more convenient than preparing a Live CD / DVD to install Linux, but I`m now thinking about this option if cannot solve the problem with USB boot. Also, I would like to have both Windows and Linux systems in my laptop, however, if I need to choose only one for an easier solution, I want to have a Linux System.

Dell Inspiron 7537 with 16GB RAM (Patriot Viper PV316G160LC9SK)
Hello.
I had an issue when 16GB (2x8GB)memory installed:
- High load tasks may cause BSOD.
- Without high load tasks, the picture on screen (whole picture or random squares) is occasionally jolting, such joilting periodicaly repeats again and again, and finally the computer is hang with “broken” jolting picture on screen.
Memtest hangs when both of 2x8Gb installed. When testing one by one there is no any problems or errors.
May this issue be caused by some kind of problems with motherboard? Or may be there is some way for some deeper diagnosis for understanding reasons for such issue?

Dell Inspiration 15 7000 Gaming Shuts down when the plug is out.
I only had this laptop for one day and when I unplug the charger it shuts down. Earlier in the day it didn't had this type of problem. In about 4 or 5 hours the computer shut down randomly to configure the updates and when i take out the plug it shuts down.
I notice that the light blinks orange many times then white??. How can I fix this ?

Dell Inspiron 5555, Not powering on.
Hi, My Dell Inspiron 5555 is not powering on. I have just closed it with out shutting down and tried to power on it after 7 hrs then it is not starting, the Charging LED on the front edge of the laptop is not glowing when the power cable is connected. I have looked up in the google and tried to remove the "static flea", but did not work. This happened few months ago and I tried the same technique, which worked back then. But now it did not work for the first few times, after 2 or 3 attempts, the laptop turned on only with power cable and battery removed state. Then I properly shutdown the laptop and connected the battery and try to turn it on but it did not turn on. And I did few more attempts to remove static flea, but the laptop is not working. Battery and AC adapter charger both are working with another Dell laptop when switched.

startup repair for window 7 repairing disk errors 11hours
Latitude E6430 window 7
startup repair working 11hours and they said repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete. Still the blue bar is moving. Do I need to wait to complete? or power off?

XPS 15 9560 freeze with USB-C/Thunderbolt 3
Hi,
I'm trying to use a Thunderbolt 3 to 10Gb adapter from sonnet (here). The laptop freeze completely (screen, sound, keyboard) as long as the device is connected.
I'm running Windows 10 x64, updated my drivers and BIOS to the latest available and nothing change.
Does anyone has any suggestions to help me solve this problem?

Leave computers on all day or turn on/off
We have two new computers = Alienware 17 R4 and XPS AIO 27 7760. Is it better for the overall performance and life of the computers to leave them on all day or turn them on and off as needed - maybe three to four times in a typical day? I am aware of the sleep functions but others in the household mistake sleep for off and use the on/off button which I fear will cause an improper shut down.

Is my battery still safe?
Had my inspiron 5547 for roughly 3 years. just noticed this happening after my last service with DELL. Initially I thought it was bloating but upon further inspection, its like the cells are actually built into blocks to buldge out and it pushes onto the frame and distorts the left side of the laptop.
From the images, you can see the slight buldge on the battery itself. I ordered a replacement for USD45+ but not too sure if the new battery will have the same issue.

Restore download for Inspiron 1545?
Is there a factory restore image download for an Inspiron 1545? Shipped with Windows 7 Home Premium? I know some Dell laptops have that.
The built in restore dell>dell software & utilities >Dell getting started guide DOES NOT WORK. Nothing in any of the Dell folders on the start menu works.
It will not launch or run. Lots of things don't work on it because the laptop's owner is one of those people who installs things to "fix" problems, but they actually horrible screw up Windows.
Windows installer is screwed up so I can't even uninstall the garbage to try and fix it. The laptop's owner has already copied off everything she wants to save so it's time to wipe it and start over. Preferably back to how it came from Dell.

XPS 15 Keyboard Backlight Bleeding onto Hinge
Last month I ordered an XPS 15 9560. Upon arrival, I had realized that the keyboard backlight bleeds through the top grate on to the screen hinge, as shown in the picture below. Although I have spoken to the support a few times about it, they insist that nothing is wrong despite the fact that every other XPS 15 I have looked at both online and in-person do not have this problem. Although I doubt this causes performance issues, it is extremely annoying to look at and is distracting. What can I do about this to get Dell to fix it? I have contacted them numerous times and the useless Indian tech support insist that nothing is wrong.

Inspiron 1564 beep code long-short-short-pause-short-short
Hi,
I've got problematic Dell Inspiron 1564. Suspected bad video.
When turned on, screen is blank and beep codes are "long-short-short-pause-short-short".
I can't find info about this beep code. I've found that long-short-short is bad video but what about next two short beeps?
Hard drive activity looks normal after that and I guess system works fine except graphics.External video output doesn't work.

Inspiron 1545 recovery fails to create bootable system.
I'm working on an Inspiron 1545 where the Windows 7 Home Premium install was utterly hosed.
I used the factory restore but what it's restored will NOT boot. It starts and I get a BSOD with a STOP error stop: 0x0000007b (0xfffff880009a98e8, 0xffffffffc000000d, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000)
I've tried it restoring over the screwed up install (keeping *nothing*) and I connected the drive to another computer to delete the OS partition. Factory restore again got me exactly the same STOP error.
Right now I have it on a command prompt in the recovery partition, showing as drive X: I know the stuff to do BCD repair is in that partition, Ease US showed me all the hidden stuff. But what I'm looking at now, anything like that which *might* work is *hidden*.
What good does it do to hide the tools required to do the repair?! I've followed several how-to's on fixing this but in every case where it's at the point of having a command prompt to the recovery partition, the folders and files needed to do the fix are kept hidden.
