Dell 7567 - Users Please Check Your Touchpad

Hi everyone, I am a new Dell 7567 user from Turkey.

I bought this laptop with 10 forum user. We were all thinking of buying this computer. So, we talked to a computer supplier and offered if they discount for one time, we can buy 10 pieces. They offered and we bought. Nevermind, all of us have problem with touchpad but not only we have that problem, but also users which buy from other sellers.

There is a gap between touchpad and bottom case and swelling on the top case. After you look at the photos, you will understand better.

Left side: http://imgur.com/Sdy6ZxF Right side: http://imgur.com/ksfikst

It is annoying because the problem does not end with that. When your finger on touchpad (not clicking, only putting on the touchpad), it is rattling. It is not clicking sound. After you watch the video, you will understand better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5P6Xq0AYvo&feature=youtu.be

There is no any complain about it in reviews and forums, so I thought it is only on the selled in Turkey ones. Please check and inform if it is happening on your computer too.

Dell Inspiron i7559 Freezing/Unresponsiveness Issue

Last month I bought this laptop and it was working fine until a few hours ago.

I was playing heroes of the storm until suddenly I was unable to use my keyboard at all. There was no response from my keyboard, not a single key worked. So I decided to restart my system until all of a sudden the laptop just completely froze during the restart and left my laptop with a frozen screen, a back lit unresponsive keyboard, a unresponsive touch pad, and both fans running on max. I tried holding the power button longer than 10 seconds multiple times to no avail to shutdown this laptop. I eventually just let the battery die and then booted the laptop again. It worked again like nothing happened.

I have update the bios and other updates that is available in the dell support site using the "Guide Me" option. I fear that this will happen again. Is there any solution that anyone has used to prevent this from happening?

Dell Precision M6700 - Pb driver Wifi suite update W10

Hello,

After formatting my pc (which was under W7 upgraded to W10) I have a little worry with my Wifi card.

It is recognized by Windows as being a Broadcom 802.11n, while on the dell support site, in the conf of my pc, it is a Dell (Dell EMA Wirless 1504).

I reformatted the pc, and nothing does.

Attempted to update the drivers (by hand or with the Dell Update) the same.

The wifi cuts every 30 seconds ... it's a bit ... boring :)

Here is my ID:

Having just purchased this laptop I cannot believe there is no indication of the laptop being asleep, where my old xps 15 did have a flashing light to indicate it.

Has anybody found a work around to make the light on the front edge flash when in sleep mode, if not then can DELL do an update to make it flash when asleep

BIOS Update failure: Dell XPS 13 9350 1.4.15

Hi,

looking for assistance after a BIOS update on my XPS 13 9350 failed. I followed the normal procedure and was running the update exe from Windows. Same procedure as used many times before.

During the update the laptop rebooted, but will not restart.

Attempting to power on normally results in the front light sequence of 2 x Orange + 2 x White

An attempt to enter BIOS recovery (ctr+Esc when inserting power) results in a front light sequence of 3 x Orange + 4 x White.

Any help appreciated.

I encountered screen flickering issues with Hyper-V enabled on my brand new Dell XPS 13 9360.

Is there a solution to this problem? It is extremely disappointing with this issue as I cannot use Docker.

Won't stop checking for updates

Hello,

This is my first time here on the forum. My Dell Inspiron laptop was recently repaired by the warranty techs. It went back and forth 4 times for touchscreen problems. Finally I was told the problem was a software problem. And, they did not do software. But they did say they would replace and reload/restore the factory operating system. But it would only be brought to a basic window setup. Like I said, I am new and I am not well versed with computer stuff. So, I have it back and I do have some windows present. They sent directions for me to follow ie.go to windows update, etc . I went to the control panel and clicked on "check for windows update". I read that before anything would be downloaded as an update, it first had to check to see if and what updates were applicable. My problem is......it has been running for 8 hours checking to see if there are any updates. What do I do? Should I stop it and try somehow to download updates. And, I have no idea how to stop it from running. I have turned off my pc many times and it is still running checking for updates when I return.  I would appreciate any ideas anyone might have. Thank you.

Inspiron 15 7559 Will NOT Power On

Hadn't used my laptop in about a week and when I turned it on, the keyboard lit up, Dell splash screen came on and the windows (10) icon showed up...then it just went dark.  Pushing the power button again, the keyboard lit up and immediately shut down.  I thought perhaps the battery was discharged, so plugged in the AC adaptor.....and although the adapter's blue light was glowing, the laptop's front-edge power-indicator light did NOT come on.  The same problem reoccurred when attempting to start up.  I have tried the various test methods mentioned on this site (including those done with the battery removed), to no avail.  Again, Pushing the power-button causes it to light up and the keyboard to flash momentarily....and nothing else.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

I bought my dell laptop with windows 8 in 2015 and had uptaded to windows 10 2016 by windows. Today while it was on youtube, suddenly the blue screen of death had appeared saying there was an inaccessible boot. Aftwr that when I had restarted it, the screen had appeared again and it restarted once again. It has been doing that for more than an hour, it says internal hard disk drive not found, no bootable devices....strike f1 to retry boot...etc.,

Latitude e5470 Charger

I was offered either a Dell PA-2E and a Dell PA-3E by a friend to use with my Latitude e5470. I lost my original charger and part of the attractions of these other two chargers is that they are slim and better for packing for the travel I have to do.

Is there any reason that these two charges would not work with my Latitude?

XPS 9550 black screen/no POST or boot after pressing F8

I was trying to get into Safe Mode in Windows 10, and since I had not done so in a while I tried using the F8 key on boot. Instead of going to the Windows recovery screen (which I realize now is not accessed with F8), the Dell logo appeared with a blue progress bar underneath, but no text was present. After a couple seconds, the computer shut off. Since then, the screen backlight does not turn on and there is no display output, even from HDMI.

Here is what I have done so far to troubleshoot:

  • Disconnected battery/unplugged AC adapter, then powered on
  • Unplugged CMOS battery, powered on/off, plugged CMOS battery back in
  • Tried fn+power
  • Tried D+power (this did turn on the backlight and flash colors, but only this)
  • Held down power button for 30 seconds to turn on and off
  • Tried the BIOS recovery method (ctrl+esc with BIOS USB disk inserted)
  • Unplugged NVMe SSD and powered on
  • Powered on, then tapped F2 or F12 repeatedly to trigger BIOS configuration screen
  • and multiple combinations of the above

My BIOS has also been upgraded to the latest version as of a couple weeks ago. In all cases except D+power, the screen did not turn on, nor did the keyboard backlight (including caps lock). While powered on, if I pressed the power button, the fans would spin up for a few seconds and then shut down.

I called Dell support who had me try a few of the troubleshooting methods above, which again did not work. He came to the conclusion that the motherboard was dead (a "mechanical failure") and said that it needed to be replaced. Since my laptop is not under warranty any longer, he said I would have to pay for the replacement part, which is currently not in stock.

While searching, I came across multiple other threads on this forum where people experienced the identical issue (no POST or screen output after pressing F8 on boot). Some were able to get their boards replaced as their laptops were under warranty.

My issue with this, aside from the main problem, is that this seems to be a manufacturing defect (either firmware or hardware) where a single keystroke renders the computer useless. There was no physical damage done to the computer and it is clear that many others have had the same problem, so I am annoyed that support is requiring me to pay for the repair or replacement.

Is there something that can be done here? I have had this laptop for less than a year and a half with almost no issues, and would have likely continued to run well if not for this problem. I don't think it's reasonable for me to have to cover the cost of what is obviously a defect that has been present in these systems since release, especially if it means having to wait however many days/weeks for the part to be available again.

Thanks in advance for any help.
