Inspiron 4110 - No power

Had the laptop for about 16 months.

As the title states, the laptop wont power up.  I went to bed a few nights ago and woke up and went to use it like normal and nothing happens when I push the power button.    The days leading up to the problem the computer worked fine, no probs whatsoever.  Ive tried a few solutions but nothing has helped.  I did manage to get the charging light to come on on the front of the laptop by taking the battery out and pressing the power button for 10 seconds while being unplugged.  Before that no lights at all on the front or anywhere else would light up.
Someone help me .

I have made backup of default partition C of my Dell Inspiron 15 3521 on three DVDs. Then I resized the C partition Keeping C of 75GB and remaining into two new logical drives through an easeus Software. Now my OS (windows 8) is infected with viruses So, I want to recover the original OS . I pressed F8 but no vain. When I try to recover from DVDs an error occurred ‘0x4001100200001005’   after completion of two percent of dell recovery setup. Default drive (C partition) also contains hidden recovery partitions.

Please guide to solve the issue

Mouse buttons loud - design issue or defective? (new Inspiron laptop)

Hello all,

I just received my new Inspiron 15 (Model 3521, non touch) and the mouse click sound is loud (unlike any Dell laptop I have ever owned).  It is loud enough that I could not use this computer in a meeting, classroom or other quiet setting without being noticed.  I contacted support and was told by the representative that it sounded like I have a faulty palm rest and that the part should be replaced.  Obviously, I wondered why this machine made it through the quality control process and even shipped to me.  The part is being shipped and an on-site technician will service the machine.

After initiating this service visit, I saw this issue mentioned as a negative in connection with a couple of reviews of the laptop, so I am beginning to think that the machine itself does not have a defect that can be corrected by the technician, but instead  has a design defect.  The sound is a physical sound which occurs even when the computer is turned off.  It sounds like a hollow, cheap plastic click/thunk and occurs when pressing either mouse button.

Anyone have experience with this or similar model and can tell me if this is the "norm"?  If so, I'd just as soon begin the return process and begin shopping for a replacement.  If this is part of the design (why on earth would Dell allow this to be???) I hate to waste time  with on-site repair, only to discover that I have a machine with a design flaw, one which is not acceptable to me, since I will be unable to use my laptop in situations in which I need to use it.

Thanks in advance.

Inspiron 15 7000 (7537) Samsung SSD Compatibility Issue

Recently bought a Samsung 840PRO 256Gb SSD. Cloned the drive using bundled samsung software. Worked fine initially although still felt a little sluggish. However I soon encountered errors stating that the hard drive was not connected or responding.

Error codes:

0xc00002a operating system failed to start

0xc000001 operating system failed to start

Initially I put the blame on either a faulty cloning process (not all partitions were cloned) and/or a faulty factory windows install. So I decided to install a fresh copy of windows 8.1 core. (No Dellware)

Upon installation computer was noticeably zippier.

However not soon after the laptop failed to boot. I recieved the above 'No boot device found' message. After checking cable connections and still with no success I connected the SSD to another computer where it appeared that the main partition was missing and unallocated.

For Clarification the connection to the SSD was good on both occasions. I have had no problems with the original 1Tb western digital HDD and am currently using it.

I am now reluctant to think the problem is with the SSD as this same issue has been flagged by a couple of users on this forum [http://forum.notebookreview.com/dell-inspiron-dell-studio/734278-owners-thread-dell-inspiron-7000-series-56.html]

It now seems this issue might only be with the Samsung 840PRO series SSD

Anyone from DELL able to give a look at this?

Anyone here with the same issue?

dell xps 14 wifi issue

So I bought my original laptop from dell at end of april. Was giving me terrible wifi download speeds. My 3 year old dell laptop was giving me at least 4/5 times the speed. After 4 months of tech support and multiple technician visits a replacement was offered. Lo and behold it had the same issues. Again after 2 months of tech support technician visits etc etc with no workable fix again I have been offered a replacement. Frankly at this point if I could just return the replacement for a refund I would.  Do I have any options here or do I have to hope and pray the 2nd replacement will actually work? I have read in numerous forums that Dell have known about this issue for a while. This is not good enough and I have spent the better part of 7 months dealing with this...

My laptop is not discovering any Bluetooth devices and cannot be discovered from them either.

I have installed the latest drivers Dell Wireless 1705 WiFi + Bluetooth Driver and I updated the BIOS but the problem remains.

Here is a screenshot of the device manager, don't know  if any other details needed ...

I would appreciate any help,

Thank you in advance

Inspiron N7110 suddenly overheating and running at minimum of 60 degrees C

My i7 powered Inspiron N7110 used to run fine, but has now started overheating drastically. Even when idle, it is running at a minimum of 60 deg C. When using photoshop, playing a game or even streaming HD video it hits high 80's. It has even turned off a couple of times, I assume because it hit some sort of limit and tried to save itself from frying.

I've checked it for dust etc and its very clean inside. Also I keep it on a laptop stand so the cpu and fan is raised a few inches above the, plus its near a window with fresh air coming in just behind it. It has been worse since this heatwave in the UK, but still.. I think its meant to be around 35 C when idle, so 60 seems excessive.

I've just tried Speedfan, but that doesn't seem compatible as it has no fans listed in the fans tab.

The laptop is only about 18 months old, so I'm pretty sure this shouldn't be happening yet.

Any help welcomed.

Thanks

Inspirion N5050- Speed Up Program Startup

I recently encountered some problems with my laptop and had to have a new hard drive installed. Everything is working fine, and all of the updates have been installed as required however as I turned on my Inspiron today I noticed that apparently one of the updates has made a change that I do not like affecting the animation speed. Now my programs open and close at a extremely slow speed and my frustration is peaking.

Does anybody know how to resolve this issue?

DELL XPS 14Z

I need fixes for a few things on my machine:

1. The Wifi never works reliably. This is very frustrating. Looking at other user experiences, it seems that this is a known issue. How do I get this fixed?

2. The LCD constantly rubs against the key board when I close the machine. This needs to be fixed as well.

3. Is there a larger battery like a 9 cell ? How can I get hold of spares.

4. Boot time of this machine is really bad. Probably due to the tons of apps installed. I need help to get this sorted out. Is there a place in San Diego I can leave my machine and get this fixed ?

So, 2 warranty issues, 1 spares issue, 1 question -in all. How do i get these resolved ASAP.

Thanks.

Regards, Chandramouli.

PS: I do have my machine under warranty until 2105.

My slot feed optical drive has stopped loading/ejecting my DVDs. Any software or driver fixes?

I have a Dell Studio 1745, with a Optical Drive HL-DT-ST DVDRWBD CA10N ATA Device. It is a slot feed optical drive. Two nights ago, it stopped ejecting my DVD when I went to remove the DVD. I would push the eject button but it would not eject. I tried for a day and a half, and was finally able to get the DVD to fall out as I held the laptop up with the optical drive slot facing directly downward. I ran functional tests while the DVD was still stuck in the drive, and after I was able to remove the DVD, and the optical drive passed all the tests. The drive is functional according to the functional tests, except the eject motor/mechanism has stopped working. I noticed that when I start up my laptop now, I don't hear the optical drive load/eject mechanism "wake up" when the laptop is powered on. Has anyone else had this problem, and what did you do or have to do to fix the problem? Please HELP!!! Sad

DVD drive not showing up or working in Dell 15R (5521)

My 5521 laptop I purchased in April is giving me an exclamation mark on my DVD drive in device manager. Its not working and i'm getting the "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)" message when I click on it. This seems to have occurred when I updated to Windows 8.1. On one forum, I read that this can be fixed by deleting upper and lower filter values in the registry. Is that correct and what's the proper procedure for doing this? Please advise.

things keep scrolling or won't open / volume keeps moving down - touchpad problem?

Hi,

I'm using XPS15 L502X.

I have a problem with what seems like a stuck button / setting, or something similar...

*For example in the bottom right if I click on the volume symbol the volume control will automatically slide right down from top to bottom by itself until the volume is off...

*If I open a music editing programme and place the cursor on the numbers which show the track length of the song it will automatically start counting down the track length backwards until it gets to zero...

*I went into my mouse settings and where you can adjust the reaction speed or sensitivity of your mouse there is a bar that runs from left to right where you adjust it, when I clicked on one it automatically slid to the far right by itself...

*I tried to install the current synaptics driver for the touch pad (which I already had) and when installing I had to scroll down the installation legal agreement to tick the box, when I clicked on the bar at the top it slid down to the bottom all by itself...

*If I right click the top right tab on my Google Chrome browser to go into history if I have MULTIPLE pages open it just quicky flashes and will not open the history, however if I have just ONE page open it will work properly and open....

I think you get the idea now!

Bye the way, for some time before this I've had a problem with my right click button barely working, you have to press it very hard to get it to work....

Any ideas if these problems are related? The right click button not working well is not a real concern at the moment, I really want to get this automatic scrolling issue worked out first....

And yes, I have re-installed the current synaptics touchpad driver, which to be honest at first made things a little worse, as my mouse cursor would not work at all after I installed it, the cursor just stayed frozen, so I read that turning the power off and taking the battery out and holding the power button down for 30 secs might work, which it did.....

Thanks

Complaint Service Request

I purchased Dell Laptop in August 2013 and from then my laptop has been repaired 2-3 times in 3 month. I contacted customer care and told them that this is defective one but they are not ready to replace this laptop.

Now, after 3 repair from Dell Technician, I was complaining again and then I saw in msinfo screen that, The model which I purchased online is Dell Inspiron 5521. The laptop which is delivered to me not what I have ordered. It is Dell Inspiron 3521.

I put a complaint regarding this and there customer care were saying me that you can select an upgrade version as a compensate value.

Once, I given them my selection that I would like to go for Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Series. Then one of their executive "Bharat Gopal" saying me that I can not get any compensate value and they are going to replace my laptop.

After so many discussion, and so many harassment I prefer that I should not continue business with Dell. So, I need my refund.

Now, they are saying that after 21 days, they can not provide any refund.

As a customer, I feel so harassed and cheated.

Let me know how can I deal with this.
