Del TB16 240W doc and XPS 13 9350
I just got a TB16 240W doc. I see several posts on how this works with the XPS 13 9350. The two main issues appear to be
(1) screen going blank when you close the lid of the XPS
(2) power issues with the laptop and peripherals
I am seeing (1) but not (2) with my 240W system. I did encounter issue (2) with the previous Dell DA200 Doc which did not have it's own power, but what I'm seeing now is that aparently the TB16 is supplying and not using the XPS power. In fact I bought the 240W version rather than the 130W version of the TB16 precisely because I had this problem with the DA200 Dell Doc. The XPS 13 9350 does not have the power to drive both peripherals and the internal WiFi device so I had to disable the internal WiFi to get my system to work.
Most people posting issues here don't say which version of the TB16 doc they have, so I would be unable to tell if the TB16 130W would have issue (2).
Because of issue (1) with the HDMI port, I would guess that the HDMI port does not have it's own memory and must use the laptop's memory. I haven't tried the other monitor ports in the TB16. The TB16 is supposed to support two 4K monitors I think, so I assume some of the ports must have independent memory....

I really hate the captcha verification used on this site - it's obnoxious
Last time I tried to post the system kept refusing to verify me for 20 minutes. The pictures are so small it's difficult to see detail, and this is really unreasonable. I won't be returning to this site ever if that happens again. Why not make the pictures much larger? It's really discriminatory if you have vision problems

Dell D610 Laptop
I have a Dell D610 laptop, and it is continually telling me that I have low memory space. I know nothing about computer tech, but after investigating it looks like I need to buy more space, but according to the specs, the max the laptop can take is 2GB.If the motherboards already in the laptop are 2GB, what is the point of buying new 2 x 1GB? I am confused, if I replace the old ones, does that mean all the info on them is permanently stored on the laptop and I am starting afresh with the new ones? HELP

M4700 Power Schemes Corrupted and DellCommandPowerManager won't install
Hi,
I have had a Precision M4700 laptop since new and it's upgraded all the way from Windows 7 Pro OEM (with original Dell power schemes e.g. Ultra Performance) without an issue, but since the last batch of updates I've had all kinds of issues with the power management.
Including USB ports randomly powering down and up again. Like right now, both wired and wireless USB mouses have gone to sleep despite the active power scheme being Ultra Performance.
I can't even edit the profiles because all of them are now stuck in the usual cant-be-edited-or-repaired mode.
So I downloaded this:

Which APPARENTLY is compatible with the M4700, but when I attempt the setup it tells me that this is an unsupported device.
Does Dell have any tools that can completely blow away and recreate the out-of-the-box power schemes on an M4700 that had the factory provided Win7 x64 OS on it, but is now running Windows 10?

Inspiron 3421, not shutting down?
I have a dell inspiron 3421 laptop. It's been very long since I noticed that the moment I put my laptop to sleep, hibernate, or shutdown. My laptop doesn't close properly until it runs out of battery or I physically shut it down by holding the power button for 10 seconds. The hardware keep on running, I think it started since I updated my laptop to the latest second last latest version and there's no stop to it. In the end, the laptop drains all the battery, even when the screen goes blank.

newly purchase xps15-9550 pcie 512g ssd 84 wh battery - try to add evo 850 on to the hdd slot, take out the 84 wh battery
Hi ! I need help to determine if I just plug in the samsung evo850 drive with oxdygx cable, onto the motherboard, with the UEFI-bios ask me to initialize the evo850 dirve? If yes, after format the evo850 as GPT, will the bios manage the 512g pcie ssd as C drive (with windows 10 in it) and evo850 as D drive (data disk)?
Another question is whether hdd password can be managed by the uefi-bio just like the legacy bios?
Also whether a similiar hdd password can be used on 512 pcie ssd?

D3100 docking station power supply replacement
During an office move, I lost a power supply for a D3100 docking station / port replicator. I know that I need a 19.5V 65W power supply, however there is several adapters with those specs listed on the website and the compatibility is also only listed for laptops (not to mention some review saying they followed the compatibility lists provided and still ended up with a wrong adapter).
I would like some help knowing exactly which product I need to get the replace my lost power supply.

Trying to figure out a power issue : E6410
I was using the E6410 from the battery and when I got a warning the battery was getting low I plugged it in but it would not charge the battery.
The battery continued to drain an shut off. I was not able to use the computer from brick Dell brick but I have always used.
I thought the problem might have been with the power supply so I tried it on a friends E6400 and it worked fine on that machine. This made me think it was the DC port on the computer.
Thinking it was the DC port I tried it on the docking station and plugged in the power supply I have always used with it and nothing. I did hit the power button on the E6410 and it did light up for a moment but shut off since the battery was low.
What I know so far.
The computer will run off of the battery but the battery does not have enough charge to do anything at this point.
The computer will not charge the battery from the DC port and will not run from the DC port using the brick that came with it from Dell.
The computer will not charge from the docking station now will it run from the docking station.
The brick works on a friends Dell computer but their brick will not work on mine.
Whatever is going on does not let it get power via the DC port or the docking station.
Any ideas on how to get the computer up and running would be very much appreciated.

Bluetooth problem with my Dell Laptop
So I got my old Dell Studio 1737 out of my closet and booted it up. I reset everything on it since I have a newer PC. I thought this would also be a nice Laptop to use to just do general things while my other one is for work. Reset it and it was pretty *** fast. My friend had spare windows 10 product key. He gave it to me and I got windows 10 on my studio laptop. It runs pretty well considering the new OS and how old it is. Anyway. I later found out that there is no bluetooth switch in settings. I went to device manager it also didnt show up there. All Bluetooth drivers for this laptop from the offical dell page are incompatible with Windows 10. What should I do?

XPS 15 9550 - Display Cable
Hello,
Is there any way to replace the display cable of this laptop? It's a XPS 15 9550 with the 1080P screen.
I have a flickering issue when moving the screen lid and no warranty anymore in the unit. I just dont want to buy the whole display because a simple cable problem.
So far i cant remove the screen bezel.

New XPS13 (9350) Battery Indicator Flashing Amber/White
Less than 1 year old xps 13 9350---just out of the blue wont boot up. screen black, only response is led light in front of laptop (I think that is the battery indicator light) flashes two yellow/one white. Won't do anything else. I consider this a brand new laptop--what the heck? Is there an easy fix or is it mail back to Dell for repair?
Really need this fixed fast as I use it to run meetings....
