I recently received a Dell Inspiron 6000 and a Dell Studio 1737 laptops from my uncle minus the chargers. A few years ago, both the original chargers died so they bought replacement Rayovac batteries for each laptop and a replacement charger. I guess it worked for a while until the batteries stopped charging. I'm assuming it was due to the charger not being OEM. Right now, I have the laptops running on an HP 19.5 volt 7.4 amp charger with the same polarity but none of the batteries charge and I get the error message on boot about using an unknown charger. So right now, I'm looking at getting an OEM charger to see if I can get the batteries to charge and to return the HP charger to my dad (it's the charger for his work laptop). I found this Dell PA-3E charger but I'm not sure if it will it work. It's the same voltage, amps and polarity but it's not the same model charger that's written on the bottom of the laptop. I'm afraid that the laptop will run but will not charge. Would this charge and work for both the Inspiron and Studio laptops?
Can I use a Dell PA-3E charger in place of a Dell PA-10 charger?

XPS 15 9550 Touch Screen not powering on
Hello,
This laptop will not power on when the touch screen digitizer cable is attached to the system board (powers on and boots fine with it disconnected). If I press the power button, the power button lights up for a bit then shuts off. I tried pressing the power button with the "D" key and it runs through a simple display test (four alternating colors). This one has me stumped. Any ideas?

I was quoted a laptop and I have now made 7 attempts to complete the transaction. What does it mean when you get a quote from Dell? I killed 35 minutes in their chat today and I couldn't even get info on their complaint department after asking 4 times.
I have just about given up hope on getting Dell to honor their quote, but i am not done warning people about them.

I'm having terrible frame rates during overwatch
I have a Inspiron 7567 with a gtx 1050 and a intel i5 7300hq but when I try to play overwatch I get about 30-40 fps on low and only sometimes get 60fps for a few moments. What can be the issue, when I look at task manager it says cpu is at 100% so is it my cpu or what can it be. Please help me I'm tired of playing at 30fps when I should be playing higher. I also plug in my laptop when I play games

Replacing hard disk on Dell Inspiron 15 (5547) "Checking Media.Fail!"
Good morning,
I have my 15-5547 laptop with 1-TB HDD with Windows 10 (upgrade OS) right now its running very slow. I try to replace my hard disk with the same specification 1-TB with pre - install windows 7 Pro. But unfortunately it is not running in good condition it only display "Checking Media. Fail". I try to check the BIOS setting and I found out that my HDD was not recognized. Pls. see below:

Sent laptop in for repair, now it won't power on
I purchased a Dell Inspiron i7759 and I noticed that it was developing "burn-in" marks on the display, so I decided to use my warranty and send it in for repair. When I received the laptop, they replaced my display with a different display, but with the same problem. Unhappy with the result, I called Dell again, and they agreed to take the laptop back in, except this time, not only was the screen replaced, so was everything else. (IO/Daughter Board, Heatsink, Main Logic Board, Palmrest, Cables, LCD Panel)
Other than the display, I have never had any other problems with my laptop up until the 2nd time it was unnecessarily over-serviced by Dell.
Here are the "repairs" that were done: 
I thought I received a brand new computer, but it turns out, they replaced my working parts, with parts that were doomed to fail, because only a month and a half later, my computer will not power on.
The problem occurred very randomly. I was using the laptop at work, I stop using it for a few minutes, it goes on standby, and when I try to wake it from standby, it stays frozen. After trying to wake it using different methods, I decide to hold the power button to shut it down, and after that point, it just never turned back on.
To make things clear, there were no power surges, no blackouts, my charger still works too.
The problem is, I am conveniently out of warranty, yet, this is a follow up to a previous repair that Dell did, but I cannot get any help.
I've tried speaking to:
• 3 Dell Warranty Representatives (1 supervisor)
• 2 Dell Out-of-Warranty Representatives (1 supervisor)
• Multiple Dell Facebook Representatives
They all tell me that I am somehow responsible for the damage and refer me to their out of warranty team.
I seriously cannot believe that a company like Dell does not have the flexibility to take my situation into consideration and offer me a solution, especially when the catalyst of my most recent issue was their most recent "repair".
If a Dell staff member is reading this, can I get some help from someone who isn't outsourced to provide me with a scripted response?

Inspiron N5051 no Wifi + Dell System Detect does not work on Windows 7 64bit
Hi, I've just reformatted my Inspiron N5010 laptop, reinstalled WIndows 7 and now my Wifi doesnt work. Been trolling through the web I believe the issue here is with the driver as the attachment in Device Manager. I tried clicking on Software Update but it could not find the anything online. I tried to use Dell System Detect but it says format issue until I found a post in this forum stating to install Microsoft Net Framework. Title of post is Dell System Detect (DSD) launch error. It seems to have installed but when I run DSD nothing pops up. I was hoping DSD can help me identify the right driver. Can someone please help me with DSD, or maybe help me identify the right driver required? I hope I'm on the right track to resolve the WIfi issue.

Omg. My laptop has stopped working
I did a Windows Defender Offline scan in Windows 10 on my Inspiron 15 3000 series. But Dell make me do a Backup and Recovery instead . Once completed, it said restart. But the computer failed to restart, Instead I get a black screen with occasional flashes of white light. I can see and move the cursor using remote mouse but can't do anything else. What to do now?

E7470 (25GGG) Question about two FN-keys and odd battery behavior
I haven't been able to figure out what two of the blue function keys do. I browsed all the documentation, including the unabridged manual, but couldn't find a lexicon of any sort. They are the ones under F5 and F6. Both symbolize closed locks. The other one has a number nine in it and the other one a vertical arrow with dual heads. Neither seems to do anything. I thought the first one was a number lock for the integrated keypad, but appears not to be.
My other question regards a battery behavior I encountered just today with my brand new Latitude. I was doing a light web browsing when my system reached a thirty percent battery level. I was under power saving mode in Windows 10 Pro x64. All of a sudden the system turned off. When I plugged the AC charger in and pushed power button, I resumed into Windows logon screen, which suggest the system went into suspended state. I have set the threshold for that much lower. The reason for my worry is that now that I had resumed back to Windows, the battery appeared to be almost completely drained and showed just 2 percent charge left, as it had just a few minutes earlier showed 30 % and several hours of usage left. What I wanted to ask is that is this normal behavior or a sign of something wrong? Could a brand new laptop battery exhibit this erratic behavior? I have 18 hours of usage on the new laptop and not once before has the battery status took a leaps of any sort to either direction.

Dell Lattitude E6430 Random Shutdowns
I have a Dell Lattitude E6430 notebook , with a Transcend 240Gb SSD drive. Running Windows 10 Pro.
Dell diagnostics has cleared all hardware.
When the notebook is running from AC or docking station is works perfectly fine and I experience no issues.
The moment I run off battery , the machine will just lose power , as if AC was pulled out of normal desktop. When I boot machine on battery it would boot to windows , allow me to log in, but as it loads startup items it will power off. I do not have a lot of unnecessary startup items to begin with. In very few instances it has allowed me to work for approx 10min before doing this.
The supplier has replaced my notebook, except for SSD, and memory modules which were transferred to new unit.
Now I cannot see how this could be related to the components or notebook, as surely it would be doing the same with AC plugged in, which it is not?? Which is telling me that this might be software related.
Anyone else experiencing this issue? Any advice? As this is really annoying not being able to run off battery!

e4300 LAN Issues with BIOS Upgrade

My e4300 LAN no longer works, the typical "Invalid ID" after running diagnostics.
The particulars:
* e4300 Windows 7 Pro, Centrino
* It was working fine, I would turn off WiFi, and the LAN would kick in with good connection...no problems
* I upgraded from A14 BIOS to A26, with steps at A24 and then A26. The drivers section at Dell did not offer anything in between A14 to A24.
* A26 BIOS is working fine, and everything is in order, but my LAN will not connect anymore, WiFi connects fine
* I've downloaded/installed:
Intel 825xx Gigabit Platform LAN Network Device Diagnostics Utility
Intel 825xx Gigabit Platform LAN Network Device Driver
* Both of these have installed with out issues
* I've tried the trick of disconnecting CMOS battery to reset, this did not work either
* I've tried a different cable with out success
* I've used ethernet cable on my other computers and these computers work fine: ASUS Desktop (AMD), ASRock Desktop (i7), Alienware M11xR2 (i7), Latitude e6430 (i7). All these computers work fine with the Ethernet cable.
* I don't know what else to do?

Dell d620 won't power on, no signs of life, battery charges
I had a friend bring me a D620 that appears to have a dead board, but these Dells can be weird at times, so wanted to ask first. The battery does charge and is full, when you plug in the power adapter, the solid green charge light comes on. That is the extent of life in the system. If you push the power button, the charge light goes off, and that is the only reaction. I have taken out then RAM, and flushed the power by holding down power switch with the battery/power removed. I have no reaction yet, so anyone have any suggestions?

XPS l701x 150 genuine adapter: can anyone tell me the exact model?
Hi guys,
I've recently purchased a l701x with a non genuine adapter. The laptop recognize the battery, but it doesn't charge it, due to the fact that it is a 90w adapter (and not genuine). I believe my laptop doesn't work at the full speed, too.
Now I don't know if the battery that I have is broken, or if it doesn't charge because of the ac adapter.
I'm looking for a genuine l701x adapter, but I've found tons of models out there (pa-15. pa-5m10, just two examples), but I want to purchase (better if used!) THE 150w original model. So I can understand if my battery works or not.
Can anyone please tell me the exact genuine model that Dell sold with 150w xps l701x, the one with nVida GT445M with 3gb of RAM?

Hi,
I had bought, last week, through DELL BRASIL, the new Inspiron 3168 2in1, 11 inches. I had be informed, through a recorded conversation, that the machine could suport an exchange form the HD 500gb to a SSD of any memory. And it could support a 8G memory DDR3 1600mhz instead of the 4G that cames with him. Well, i had not received it yet, but i´m seriouslly in doubt and i am afraid of not being able to change nothing. Once the notebook is not even an I3, it should run very slow without an SSD. So, i would want to know, once and for all, if i could or not change the HD to an SSD. And, if i could, wich one should i buy? I say these because i had entered at CRUCIAL website and it showed to me a model of SSD that came with an addapter, a caddy of 9,5mm addapter. I find it very strange because, as i knew, the caddy was just to change the DVD space to an SSD - and i never understand why people do this instead of putting the SSD on the place of the HD and put the HD on the place of the DVD. Well, if you could support me i would much aprecciate. And, if it is possible, I ask you to send me an email when you answer it.
