My Dell D630 laptop does not power on. When I connect the AC adapter, Green LED light is on and battery is also charging. But pressing power button does not do anything. I have tried removing the battery, powering up with blue Fn key and other basic options. Any suggestions for further troobleshooting.

How can I turn off/on the finger pressure pad? (I can not find the setting anywhere in the control panel).
I do not normally use it... & my big hands are always accidently hitting it when I'm typing and I get weird things.

Hello. I have been trying to update my intel graphics driver since i got my new top tier XPS 9530 and so far have been running into a little problem...
The drivers offered by dell are a little ancient... the new ones from Intel fix a series of Windows 8.1 related issues - some of which I have experienced with this laptop.
Every time I go to install I am told by the installer that this laptop isn't supported by the software update - though I'm certain I'm downloading the right files... It says to contact my manufacturer so here I am.
DELL - you guys need to put out a couple updates for this machine. Please. - I'm sure the graphics isn't the only thing that could be updated...

Do you own a new XPS 9530? Do you casually game? Is it getting great Frame rate (FPS) at first and then dropping to 10 or less frames for no apparent reason? Do you use a cooling fan pad with your new 9530?
If you answered yes to a couple of these questions I think I have the solution for you.
- The cooling design of the new 9530 series of XPS laptops forces air out of the bottom... Cooling pads push air up on to the bottom of the laptop.
By using a cooling pad with this particular model of laptop is actually counter productive and actually causes the laptop to run hotter... and once your machine gets in to the 85-90 degree Celsius range... the GPU starts cutting power to prevent an overheat...
Also, 3D gaming on your lap with this machine is a no no for the same reasons. The laptop is cooling itself out the bottom. Make sure it's on a clean, flat surface if you plan on using anything that uses your Nvidia card ... This will allow the computer to cool itself (which it actually does a fine job of on it's own...)
If you're just watching movies or typing a paper (anything that just uses your integrated graphics) you're probably ok... just keep this computer off of the bed, or any smothering surface... remember. That's where it's trying to send all that heat it's creating.

My new Inspiron is having an issue with connecting to my home wifi.
The router (UPC TC 7200 U) is set to 5 GHz on Channel 40 with n-standard and delivers a strong signal on all other devices that are connected.
According to the product description the Inspiron 7000 should have no problems finding this network as it has a dual-band wifi card.
The issue also doesnt lie with the router as other new devices that I brought to my home can find and connect to the network without any problems.
I downloaded and installed the current intel and dell drivers for the wifi card; still I cannot find the 5GHz network on my new dell.
Does somebody have similar problems and could somebody please help me reseolve this issue, as it is very frustrating!!

I looked this up in Dell troubleshooter and tried following directions for Command prompt but system tells me this is unavailable in Windows 8.1. How else can I clear spooler? Please |
Hi All, I was given an inspiron 6000 laptop with WIN XP sp3, circa 2007 I think. All is well except although I have a fully charged battery the screen is kind of dim. If I plug the laptop in, the screen becomes bright like you would expect it to be. I have a suspicion that there's a brightness adjustment some where since the dimness is always consistently the same dimness. Can anyone tell me what the answer is? Thanks in advance! 
Recently purchased the XPS 17 laptop, and first thing I noticed when I plugged in the adapter is that there is entirely too much play, it flops down and has fallen out quite a few times already. Have several other DELL laptops and those are still nice and tight even after years of use~ did they give me the wrong one?? I see no reason why a brand new plug/laptop should be this loose?

I have used Skype for 10 years and no problem. Now after an update on Nov. 6, 2013 I have a problems with sound. Skype said I was missing file 1603. what is that file and where do I get it. Now Microsoft took over Skype I have problems. I do not know what to do. I never had a problem. I restored my computer to before Nov 6th and still cannot use Skype. I keep reading about problems with sound. when I reinstalled Skype all my contacts disappeared. <ADMIN NOTE: Email id removed per privacy policy>
My dell n5010 doesnt boot up for more than 5 seconds and the battery light is solid red when booted up. I have replaced the motherboard recently since it had the 8 beep error which is fixed.i also just got a new battery today in hopes it was my old battery that was causing it.However the new battery had no effect please help!
Hello, I figured I'd share a (not so obvious) solution to a stupid little problem I have been experiencing with my new Dell XPS 15 - 9530 touch screen laptop.
After a period of time, the screen would stop responding until a sleep, restart, or until I disabled and re-enabled the touch screen in device manager.
TURNS OUT - Dell is shipping these out with a kind of wonky setting... Go your device manager (Google it if you don't know what it is)
THEN - goto "Human interface devices" and double click on the "USB input device" - if you have more than one, disconnect any external mice you may have attached.
FINALLY - goto the "Power Management" tab and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"...
This has so far solved my issue... and hopefully saves someone from a tech support call.
We have the Inspiron N7110, bought in April, so in use 6 to 7 months.
My in-law's have the computer in the Philippines and had been using it without issue since brand new. A few nights ago the computer was being used and was shut down normally. The next morning on trying to power on, the screen flashed white that went immediately black. Shutting the machine off and turning on again, the screen never displays Dell or Windows logos (never displays anything) just immediately turns black. Computer lights are on so the machine has power and is working, just no display at all.
I've read the forums, troubleshooting and diagnostic recommendations.
Can not start in safe mode, as pressing F8 or pressing F12 both produce same result (no display, computer just seems to start up but with black screen).
Ran monitor BIST (built in self test) and this DOES work. The screen flashes several different colors, however the machine does not start up.
If a Dell support rep replies here, I can provide any further details including the service tag.

I have a Precision M6500 and have been looking for a bluetooth (WPAN) card. I've looked on eBay and have searched the web but cannot find one, does anyone know where one can be purchased.

The other day I upgraded my Precision M6600's bios to A15 as recommended.
At the same time I used Driver Booset (iobit) and it upgraded 12 system drivers..
After this the machine has been unable to wake from hibernation (sleep works just fine) I end up at a black screen, sometimes the keyboard responds: caps/numlock works, but I cant do anything.
I tried rolling back the drivers DB updated, but no change hibernation still doesnt work..
So Im afraid it could be Bios update A15 that is the culprit.?
Can anyone help?
