Hey! I just ordered the Alienware 13, R3 1050ti for gaming. It's quite a huge upgrade from my current Surface Pro 3!
I am going to be using it mostly to play overwatch and I want to play "For Honor". My issue is that I just noticed now the 1050ti in this is a 2gb instead of the 4gb. Can anybody tell me how much this will affect my gaming? I'm not a hardcore gamer by any means, I game A LOT, but I don't play graphically intensive games with exception of "For Honor"
Anybody else own one of these models give me some insight? If it doesn't run it,does Dell offer some sort of exchange that I could just return this and upgrade to the 1060? Thanks!
even at idle I see that the 9560 fan is running at around 2400-2500 rpm. is this normal? computer is completely idle, maybe 1% CPU utlization. temperatures are fine, but fan still running at 2400-2500 rpm?

Ms sister's dell computer broke down many weeks ago. After taking to 6.02x10^23 "tech support" People, a "technician" came out to try and fix it. He couldn't. So we sent it to a "depot" to fix it. It just came back today and it wasn't fixed. The battery had died, and by the time it came back it was still dead. Additionally, all her data was gone. My question is, how on this earth could a computer be sent in to get fixed, then come back in worst state than it was when it left??? HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!
I reset my laptop where it would be brand new but after it reached 100% it kept restarting over and over. The dell logo keeps appearing along with a percentage that hasn't moved in 2 days. The laptop turns off and inn repeatedly and I can't do anything to it
I have an Inspiron 5537 and the original battery recently completely died on me. The AC adapter will power on the computer, though. I bought a new battery for the laptop, and the battery light will light up saying that it is detected, but the battery icon will say something like, "78% charged" and "01 minutes until fully charged" without even charging. Furthermore, as soon as I unplug the adapter, the laptop shuts off as though the battery isn't working. Does anyone know what could be the problem and how to fix this? I'm desperate!

Hi, I have Dell Inspiron N5010 which brought 6 years back and in between I have updated to Windows 10 and there were no issues until battery change yesterday.
Yesterday I have changed the battery and kept charging for 2 Hours and started the PC. Start light is ON but screen not started. Felt strange and changed to old battery but still status quo. Then I removed the battery and tried on with only Power card without battery - still the same status.
I have tried with 30 seconds Stat button hold - start again - This also not worked.
Then I have called to Dell support, talked to software and Hardware guys. Hardware person suggested me to Open the memory slot and remove the memory card one by one and test with power card which is not worked.
After this test when I press start button laptop started giving 2 beeps , then that guy suggested me to take to some hardware shop to get it repaired.

I'm trying to use my Dell Inspiron 17 5000 Series laptop with Vivitek D825 Projector (2008 model?) to project PowerPoints for a series of classes. I've had to use a StarTech adapter to connect the projector's RGB cable to one of the laptop's USB port. The problem is that once the laptop is connected to the projector the remote control doesn't work. Before they're connected, the remote DOES work with just the projector.
Is there an adjustment on my Dell that will allow me to use the project's remote control?
Hi,
A brief description of the problem im facing is that my dell vostro is not charging.
I have done some research and found out that after updating the BIOS, things should start working proper.
However, after when i tried to update my BIOS from Vostro 5460 244 C to Vostro 24-5460 755, an error message shows, saying ' Running on an unsupported system'.

I have installed the "Dell ControlVault2 Driver and Firmware" that was found under "security" in the driver & download section for my E7270.
All devices in the device manager of my Win7 show that they are correctly installed.
But there is still no fingerprint function. Windows Control panel says: "The selected fingerprint reader has no managemnet application installed".
I then tried to install the Dell DDP Protected Workspace software that was also found for my E7270. This program took a long time to actualize itself, then asked for a sort of licence code, which I don't have. After starting it again, it worked a long time saying it downloads something. Then it deleted the program files. Windows stated that it still is installed, but when trying to deinstall it, a lot of error messages appeared ending up with a partly destroyed software database, so I had to recover the system using imaging software. It seems that the DDP software is extremely buggy.
How do I get the fingerprint reader working?
Hi,
I have the following problem and searching for a solution. I have a Dell Precision M3520 with a Kaby Lake i7-7820HQ. I am using the "Dell Command Power Manager" v. 2.1.1 (latest available at the moment).
Anyone an idea? or is this just a bug of the power manager?
I just picked this up used and it was operating on battery just fine. Since I was unsure of the age of the battery, I powered down the system and pulled the battery out. When I replaced the battery the system would no longer start if AC was not present.
I have reseated the battery several times. Windows 10 is telling me that Battery 1 is not present and Battery 2 is 100% and fully charged. I do not have a second battery installed, just the single one.
The ePSA diagnostics do not show any issues with the battery.
Thanks,
John
Hi guys,
I have an E5470 with a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro N and the latest Alps touchpad driver and I am unable to two finger tap to right click. To be fair, if I rapidly two finger tap about 10 times I get a right click window pop up however shy of that it just doesn't work. Its occurred despite reinstalling Windows x2. The problem goes away if I use the default Windows touchpad driver.
Does anyone have any clues as how to solve this? Its rather annoying.
