Help my Laptop Inspiron 5558 won't charge
I'll write my full story here so please bear with me
when i turned on my laptop i got a message that says
"ac charger type and wattage cannot be detected. system will adjust performance"
i have red many post and articles about this laptop problem and it seems that it is common in Dell
my laptop got drained and wont turn on but after i left it with the charger plugged in it heated and luckily it turned on but it wont charge, just running with an ac charger. if i removed the charger my laptop dies
In my research there are 3 options for me
first is update the bios
second, check ac Charger
and lastly check battery
I tried to updated my bios (Bois A14) and nothing happened. My laptop have 0% available on it so i have to force run it
next is i checked my charger by checking set up... the charger is labelled unknown and i tried to plug my sisters charger and it is still labelled as unknown. i also checked the charger tip if the ground and the positive is connected.
then i checked my battery by running set up(same with the one i used to check my ac charger) and it is labelled excellent. i also tried right clicking the battery icon on the right side of the task bar to check my battery on the dell power manager and it is also labelled as excellent
i also tried opening the back of my computer(i read a lot about computers and once got to college and study computers) to see if there are wires removed and to see the charging port if it has damaged.
then i started to lose hope.
That is when i created an account and first time connecting to the dell community if someone here can help me.
i don't want my laptop to be checked here in the Philippines cause laptop repair stores here are known to steal laptop parts
ps: sorry for my grammar
