Hello.

My Dell Inspiron 3543 won't turn on. I tried to remove the battery and charging cable, hold the power  button for 1 or 2 minutes and then reconnecting the power cable and start the laptop. However it's not powering on. This happened after i restarted the laptop because was stuck at welcome on windows 7. He remains all the time at welcome so I restart and start in safe mode. After another restart it's working, i don't know if this is the cause. The led on the power cable its working and everything it's connect correctly. But when i connect the power cable to the laptop without the battery , the led on the laptop it's not turning on. I don't know if the led needs to be on.

If i need to provide more details let me know and sorry for my English.

Thank you.

Dell XPS 13 9360 USB ethernet (Dell adapter) not recognised after wake from suspend

I have the Dell XPS 13 9360 and have been using the Dell USB type-C adapter to connect to wired Ethernet network. I have a problem when waking up the laptop from suspend. VGA and USB on the adapter continue to work well after wake from suspend but the Wired Network functionality of the adapter is not recognized.

Note that if I unplug and replug the adapter it is recognised correctly.

The adapter is using the driver r8152 for wired networking, I am using Linux Mint 18.1 (Ubuntu 16.04 based) and kernel 4.8.0.34

Besides this I think almost everything works perfect with the laptop

I am also attaching the content of dmesg after I wake up from sleep:

Since last week fan is noisy and it seems it keep moving and rarely slow down.

I keep laptop free from dust. Fan and ventilators are clean. Laptop is on the cooling stand. No doubt BIOS is older as it is Windows Vista 32 bit about to be replaced with new computer.

As it is very cold here in Japan but computer get hot could be due to processor?

I ran Dell Diagnostic but could not find anything regarding fan.

I wonder if there is any way to check if fan is working properly or not or any solution?

. I have also started using Speedfan. Refer screen shot.

M 1530 is Dual core. CPU T7250 2.00 GHz NVidia GeForece 8600 GT

Any quick help in this regard will be much appreciated.

Thank you

Hi Hope you all are doing well. First i must apologize for marking my country as US because my country sri lanka is not in your country list :( .

I am a sri lankan citizen who is willing to buy your product vostro 5568 Core i7 7th Generation from your sri lankan agent softlogic . Following is the link that i am following on this product...
I contacted team there and they informed me that in this laptop version there is no way to put SSD hard drive inside to the laptop . But in your manual here http://webshop.eltele.no/pdf/25500B4B-B8A6-4085-AD06-B9426CB29686.pdf   says that this laptop has place for SSD card. why softlogic staff saying that there is no way to insert ssd card to this laptop while manuals says we can.? or is this fake product that they are selling (sorry i just want to keep myself out of trouble)?     please give me detailed answer because i really want to add ssd to my laptop to improve its speed. and i would like to know that whether i can replace hdd drive of this laptop with ssd drive without risking warranty or not.. and which drive did you install the windows 10 os? SSD or HDD(if exists) ? thanks a lot

I sent computer back for repairs now the keyboard does not light with touch or come on at startup. I tried to install enhancement package 2.2 as suggested but said remove newer version first. I can see it in progams to remove. They had to replace KWH3G - LCD and Accessory, KD4T9 - Cables and Cords, and
94MFG - Daughterboard. The board works manually with Fn and F10. I changed Bios to 100% but only came on once. Computer just 5 months old!

Latitude E7270 / Windows 10 / Freezing + not waking up.

Hi,

I've recently upgraded my Latitude E7270 to Windows 10 (Clean install). All seems to working ok until a day later.

If the laptop has fallen to sleep, it will not always wake up - it will just provide me a black screen, with the power button alight, and the keyboard alight. I've plugged in to a screen via a direct HDMI but it doesn't pick it up. This will happen on a dock, and off of a docking station.

I have also found on the odd occasion, if the laptop is locked - it will freeze. Will not respond to any keyboard or mousepad motions, including USB.
----
I believe this is possibly a hardware issue, but I can't prove it. However, on the same model of laptop running W10 64bit Pro, they have not had any issues (I built both laptops, mirroring settings)

What have I tried?

- Event logs show no errors.

- I've installed all recommended dell Drivers from the site.

- I've updated drivers manually via device manager

- I've uninstalled video drivers, and reinstalled.

- Sleep + hibernate are enable from the start menu

- on lid close" it's showing as "Do nothing"

- Link State Power Management is 'off'

- I've run on-board dell diagnostics and dell online diagnostics - no errors.

- I've run a sfc check and a mem check - no errors.

- Group policy is not affecting the device either (I've tested with our normal group policy, and then off-domain without policy affecting) - Please note that same model laptop above is on a domain, and they have no had any errors.

-Reinstalled W10 twice... Legacy Bios originally then UEFI.

Dell Inspiron 13TouchscreenLaptop

This laptop was less than 9 months old before the screen began to crack and the touchscreen has become absolutely useless. It has never been misused, dropped or had any other type of mishap.

Contacted Dell's Customer Service Team and technical support team and they said they would not cover this under warranty, that this does not happen unless you somehow damage it. I guess they do not read their custom reviews, or forums, because we are one of many that have reported the exact same issue with this product.

Disappointed with their service and not standing behind their products.

We have several dell products, and this is the last product we will ever purchase from them due to the handling of this issue, and implying we are to blame for the screen defect.

We will use social media to post our reviews and our experience of this laptop from Dell.

Hi there,

I've had this laptop for 3+ years and have been so happy with it, that I don't know what I'd would if it konks out on my today.  So I'm asking if you folks out there know of a similar dell laptop that I could buy.  The very main requirement would be that it can accept 2 hard drives (if need to remove optical drive for 2nd drive, not a problem; that's what I'm doing now), 15" (14" may be fine), expandable up to at least 32gb of ram, and also be dockable.  price range does not matter.  but needs to be dell, I've been with dell for such a long time and probably won't go to another brand.

thanks!

Using a WD15 dock on a new Latitude 5x80/7x80 system

If you plan to use an older WD15 dock with one of the new Dell 5x80/7x80 Latitude systems, it is highly recommended that you update the dock firmware in advance.   Instructions on how to update the dock firmware are available here ->

If you are purchasing a new WD15 dock with a new system, it should ship with the updated firmware already installed.

Inspiron 3552 Hard drive not installed

Yesterday I shut down  WIn 10 on my inspiron 3552 like usual, today after work I switched it on and it shows me 'hard drive not installed' it run diagnostics automatically. I read lot of posts, I reset the Bios settings but still  Bios  shows there is no hard drive, I remove the hard drive disconnect and reconnect to the connector but still  it shows me hard drive not installed, but if I connect hard drive to my sata to usb adaptor  I see the hard drive  is working properly. it appears and shows files connected to my other laptop via usb adaptor. May it be the sata connector fail?

The  funny thing is my warranty expired on 17 th of January just 9 days ago.

Inspiron 17 5000 (5767) Fan on constantly

The fan runs constantly on this new (1 month old) i5-7200u laptop.

It seems to me that a supposedly low power/heat Kaby Lake CPU would not require a fan to run constantly.  In fact it should run rarely.

Following advice from Dell Support I have run Dell Diagnostics and sent results which appear all OK.

In the fan diagnostic tests RPM never dropped below 2661.  CPU and other temperatures where all "normal".

I have now been asked to return the laptop to a remote service depot for further tests.  It is going to be extremely inconvenient to be without the laptop of up to 14 days.

Can someone tell me if the fan is supposed to run all the time or should it turn off when CPU temperatures are within specification.

I am pretty sure the noise is emanating from the CPU fan as the laptop has a SSD rather than a spinning HDD.  The only other possible source of the noise is the discrete AMD Radeon R7 445 graphics card.  I have been unable to find out if this graphics device has a separate fan.  If it does then I would like to know if it is possible to switch off the discrete card to see if the fan noise stops.

Any advice or guidance greatly appreciated.

Hi all,

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on this laptop model. Drivers for the touchpad I have not found. What are the ways to disable the touchpad? Can be in UEFI ? Or you can find a compatible driver?

Latitude - Intermittent Cold Boot Up issues - E6530

Hi-

We have a dell e6530.

It is a documented issue that the following can happen:

1) Pressing the power button causes the light to be on but a black screen to show

2) after 15 times eventually it boots to windows

I've seen alot of responses that say "run diagnostics" or remove the battery and ac.

Has anyone else had this issue? Does it need a new motherboard? Someone even mentioned to flick the hinge with the laptop closed.

Anyone have any ideas on a solution that would work?

Thanks again.

Dell should specify delivery, not shipment date! I wasn't told it would come from China and take 2 weeks!

I find it very unfair that Dell specifies the shipment but not the delivery date on its website. The shipment date was supposed to be 1-2 days, but what they didn't tell me was that it would ship from China, so I'll have to wait almost two weeks!

Had I known, I would have ordered it from John Lewis!

Bottom line: before placing an order, always confirm the delivery date!

So I have a studio 1558 and when you shut it down it will not start up unless you completely remove power ( AC and battery) it is headless (no lid) but this problem has been happening since before it became headless i have rewired the power button and this even happens when you manually activate the power from the motherboard, the power button works 100% if you do not shut it down

Hello i have an Inspiron 5520

Some time ago my laptop was in bad shape it started to freeze out, more frequently till i got the "Blue Death" (we in hungary we call a blue screen with white message on it)

then i was shaking my head what the problem... i have managed to start up the windows in safe mode, so i have calmed down there no enormus problem.

After that i have managed to reinstall my windows and it was booted up perfectly, but i had 1 problem...

It was shutting down after 1-2 min run time even when I didnt do anything not even moving the mouse...

Google is my friend and he told me to update the bios (i have managed to realise the problem myself witch was the pc thought it was overheated [i placed my hand on to the laptop and it was at room temperature])

So i updated it and now it works fine but i do not hear the CUP Fan reving up not even when I'm booting up

I have run diagnostics (F12) and it said no proplem fund... But my problem is when i want to play games I just can dou to the fact after 3 min the Core temperature at 100+ degree celsius and auto shut down.

Is there any way to check my CPU fan Speed?

(Cant even check it physically cose at the dell service someone screwd me over with 1 tiny little screw so i can't screw it off... so i cannot even check it) (I wanna go to the service to make them fix it, but i have no time for that atm)
