I have a dell xps 13 9360 and for the most part ever since I have owned it the mother board has made a fuzzy noise when there is any movement on the screen, the noise is even louder when plugged in. I sent it back to get fixed and the issue was not resolved. I heard that maybe dell is trying to fix the problem. anyway I was wondering if a return of the laptop would be the best option since dell couldn't seem to fix it the first time.

Identifying FV2 fuse and ZIF flap part numbers (XPS 14z / L412z)

Hello, I have a pair of XPS 14z (L412z) laptops and I need help identifying part numbers/where to buy two motherboard components.
The first is the FV2 fuse that I removed and jumped on one motherboard. It's about 3mm in length and marked with a K. I was having trouble with a replacement LCD for one of the laptops where the backlight wasn't turning on and this was close enough to the inverter/LCD cables that I thought it was the problem. From what I could find, backlight fuses are often 32V and 3A, but I can't find any like that which are marked K. I think it may be 1.5A or 2A from similar K-marked littelfuse products, but I have no idea and need some help as I would rather not keep it jumped.
(The LCD problem has since been resolved as some weird act of God where both the original and replacement LCDs failed to work while the one from the second laptop does in fact work with this motherboard.)

The second part I need help with finding is the ZIF retaining flap for the HDD connection. I have no idea how I lost it, but I can't find it anywhere. The original is a little over 17mm long and fits 12 pins(?). I would really appreciate a suitable replacement part that I could order online, but I would also settle for anything one step above tape. Below are pictures of the original that can be seen in the other laptop (black flap for JHDD1) - also, seems to be marked with 25A.

Power charger for XPS15 does not work on Aeroplanes
I have a new XPS15 with a 130W power supply. I bought it for travel (I fly a lot for work) and I was quite disappointed when on a Cathay Pacific flights (Airbus A330) the charger kept tripping the inseat power supply (Both in Business class, Premium Econ and Econ) ...
This is a major annoyance as I do high end video / image processing which means I only get 2hrs or so of life out of the battery.
I know I can buy an external battery pack but that is annoyong to have to lug around. So I was wondering if there is a lower wattage power supply available that wont trip inseat power?
Appreciate any help / advice!

Windows 10 shutdown problem
Hi
I recently replaced my hard drive and installed a fresh copy of windows 10 . the problem is that now my windows wouldn't shut down properly screen goes blank but power light and fan keeps on and when my PC goes to sleep it does the same as well in both the cases I have to manually turn off the computer by pressing down the power button for 10 seconds and restarting it. I have tried almost everything there's on the internet but my problem still persists. Does it have anything to do with legacy or UEFI mode?.

XPS 13 9350, WD15, and external monitors.
I've been poking around the inter-web a bit looking for a definitive answer regarding 9350's and external monitors. What is the highest resolution you can achieve? In my case I'd be connecting through a WD15 (which still has no working USB ports - had to get that in), and... and... which connection method offers the best results; mini DP, HDMI, or VGA. My instinct puts it in that order but I read a review on the WD15 that had a pretty bizarre set of results using these different selections (along with one and two monitor setups). I'm looking to connect to a Dell U2515H (2560 x 1440) but would be fairly disappointed if I couldn't muster more than 1080. Thanks.

Inspiron 5558 won't start after BIOS Update
My Inspiron 5558 (Core i5, Windows 10) won't start after installing the latest BIOS update using Dell Update.
The machine LED (on left hand side of the case) is white on power up but nothing at all is shown on the screen - not even the Dell logo, implying a POST failure. I have followed the support steps by removing the battery and then using ePSA diagnostics, as well as taking out the internal battery to see if that helps. The ePSA diagnostics give a single loud 2-tone beep which supports my theory that the BIOS is now corrupted. I have unseated and reseated the 2 RAM cards in case that was an issue.
Any ideas would be much appreciated! I need to use the data from the laptop asap and have thought about ordering a similar spec so that I can insert the hard drive while I work on getting this fixed.

E6420 - GPS & Cellular
Folks,
I have recently upgraded from a D630, to a E6420 XFR.
Help required please, I am trying to figure out the following:
1. Is it possible to retrofit the Augmentix_GPS-Mini-Card (Dell P/N: 64N5X)? If so where can I obtain the card, other than the service manual and sales data sheets they appear to be as rare as hens teeth.
2. I also want to add a 4G cellular data card. Can anyone recommend one for this machine? (I am UK based)
Alternatively is it possible to use one of the Dell combo 4G/GPS cards in lieu of the Augmentix/4G solution.
Anyone offer any help on this please?

Latitude E5450 Bluetooth adapter occasionally starts turning on/off rapidly
Hi,
My E5450 loosing its bluetooth adapter occasionally. It happening suddenly during normal use, bluetooth adapter start turning on/off rapidly. Normal restart doesn't help, after restarting it still resumes blinking on and off. Turning laptop off from start menu and then back on from power button sometimes fixes the problem but not always. The only thing which fixes the problem is keeping power button pressed for 4 sec until laptop turns off and then turning on again. Then bluetooth works well until next time it starts blinking. I added also a brief video of Windows desktop when it blinking. Everything else (WLAN, LAN etc) working normally. Preload diagnostics doesn't find errors.

Dell Inspiron N5010 7 beeps no display

My dell inspiron n5010 displays nothing power led is on but no display and on pressing fn key while starting it beeps 7 times. I have tried reseating all the devices like ram, HDD,CD-ROM,etc. At times it displays some flashes on pressing D + power key and then blank screen comes and beeps 8 times. ......

Hey guys I have recently purchased this laptop from Microsoft and the only thing that is preventing me from loving it is whenever I open the start menu from desktop, my moouse would start to lag and slow down until i close start menu or windows explorer. All my driver has been updated and can't find anything else. When I disable the HD Graphics 530 from device manager, the lag would stop but I am not able to use the brightness keys and the sleep button from start menu would also go away. Also I have another problem is that, every tme I start up the laptop, I would see white spots in the black screen. I've been reading some posts and it could be a bright pixel or something like that. Thank you guys in advance. Any help is welcome!

XPS 15 9560 and TB16 Dock - still need power connection?
I am about to order an XPS 15 9560 and looking at TB16 dock ... in specs it shows XPS 15 as supplied with 130W power adapter but in specs for TB16 the chart shows 240W and says "NOTE: A system requiring more than 180 Watts must have its own power adapter attached"
Does that mean that for the XPS 15 i need to connect the power cord even if I am using the TB16 dock? I thought the TB16 would mean I could just use the single connection.

Inspiron 13 5378 2-in-1 NEED GENERAL OPERATION INFO
New to the 2-in-1 environment, unit is working well wirelessly and as a laptop in general. How/where do I find general operational details (basically 'how to use') on this product so I can teach my husband how to operate it as a tablet. Am retired, 70 years old, and limited knowledge compared to others in this environment. Have scoured Dell's site for this info with no success. Windows 10.

Dell Inspiron 11 Laptop Unable to Update Windows 10
I've had the Windows Upgrade Assistant on my desktop for a while now, and it keeps prompting me to upgrade Windows. The only problem is that I do not have enough disk space.
I have run disk cleanup, I've cleared off most unnecessary files, and I still only have about 3.9gb of free disk space.
This laptop has the 32gb SSD, and obviously that isn't much space. It seems I would have to remove Windows 10 in order to update to the newest version of Windows 10. I have tried using removable media (flash drive) to install the update like has been shown in several places, but the Upgrade Assistant won't show that option.
This laptop was preloaded with Windows 10 from the factory, this wan't an upgrade from 8.1 or anything.
I'd really like to get this working, and I'd rather not overwrite the current Windows installation and wipe my data and everything just to install this update. Does anyone know what I can do to update Windows?

XPS L502x motherboard
I have an XPS 15, L502x laptop to repair - it needs a motherboard replacement - and I have found motherboards for sale with two different part numbers. One is 0714WC and the other is 0C47NF.
I was interested in finding out whether these motherboards are identical as they seem to share the same motherboard reference number: DAGM6CMB8D0.
Could anyone shed any light on this please?

XPS 13 9365 2 in 1 CABC and other issues
I have the new xps 13 9365 and it has several issues. Wifi disconnects and won't re-acquire the internet without first disconnecting, device won't sleep with lid closed(battery massively discharges) and the biggest problem is the CABC or inability to disable the auto brightness control that constantly changes. I know there was an update for the older xps 13 so it would be great if this could be rolled out for this model as well. I already had to swap the first one because it had a physical flaw and wouldn't sit level.
Overall it's a really nice piece of hardware, but suffering from some issues. I've updated all the drivers, bios and windows updates.

Dell Warranty is reflecting incorrect data as per technical support and support manager
i currently have a dell Inspiron 5558 laptop for over an year now but the screen stop working over 6 months ago, i looked up the warranty information at the time of screen stopped working and was re-assured that it showed February 18, 2017 therefore i did not consider that it is very urgent to call tech support since i have other laptops. today when i call the support service, i was informed that product was not registered and i have to pay $233 to replace the LCD screen, they still argued that dell warranty website showed the correct information but when i looked it up, the website still displays the same. did anyone else encounter this issue??

USB ports not working
Hi,
Recently my usb ports are not working. To try to fix this I have updated all drivers and BIOS, scanned hardware- No reported issues. No issues noted on Device manager. And I have disabled the power saver settings on the ports. The ports look intact, no broken pins. However, for some reason I can not restore to a previous date, even with anti-virus disabled.
My system is: dell xps 12 ultrabook.
Does anyone know what else I could try?

Touchpad works but Dell software does not
I installed Windows 7 on my wife's Inspiron 11 3157. The touchpad works with Windows stanrdard PS2 driver. I wanted to use the Dell Touchpad Software to increase the required touch pressure and add palm rejection.
I downloaded the drivers listed on the 3157 driver page (link). The drivers installer said that Synaptics Drivers were installed successfully, but the touchpad still shows as a PS2 mouse (even after a restart). Also, the Dell Touchpad Software was not installed, but I did find it in the unpacked driver directory. When I lauch the Dell Touchpad Software, I am able to increase the touch pressure and add palm rejection, BUT is does not save or effect the behavior of the touch pad.
I have also downloaded and installed Dell Multi-Touch Touchpad Driver (link). I have the same problem as with the Synaptics drivers. The drivers installer said that Alps Drivers were installed successfully, but the touchpad still shows as a PS2 mouse (even after a restart) and the Dell Software does not work.
Lastly, I downloaded Dell Touchpad / Pointing Stick (link). The driver installer says the drivers were installed correctly and the touchpad now shows as a "Dell Touchpad" in the device manager. However, the dell Touchpad Software was not installed. Navigating to the driver unpack directory, I find the Dell Touchpad Software, but when I click on it nothing happens.
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated!
