How can I buy a SATA cable for an Inspiron 15 7560?

I want to fit a second drive in the 2.5" caddy on the new Dell Inspiron 7560, but it needs an interposer cable.  The part number is NH9YV (confirmed to me by Dell technical support on the phone) but I cannot find anyone who can sell me one.  It is referred to in another post on this forum which seems to have gone dead.  Can anyone help me to find one?  It is the item shown in Step 3 in the Service Manual: procedure to remove Hard Drive.  Thanks 

 


Drivers Not Installing Correctly?

Hello,

I have just done a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit of my Dell Inspiron N4110. 

I went straight to Dell's Drivers and Downloads online and found my laptop model, and Windows version and proceeded to download the drivers that I thought I needed. 

I am downloading from another computer, putting on a USB, and installing from that USB to my Inspiron N4110. I double click the Application I downloaded. What happens is that I receive a message saying that I "successfully unzipped" the files. It doesn't seem like the driver actually installed, and I can't quite figure out how to install the downloaded drivers I got from the Dell website. 

Am I downloading the wrong drivers? Or am I supposed to be installing a different way?

Also, can someone point me to which exact drivers I need to download for my laptop model? There seem to be multiple drivers under each category. The link is here:

Bluetooth Device has ! and driver install fails every time

I have paired a bluetooth headset with my Latitude 5440 and whenever I do a Bluetooth Peripheral Device shows up with an !. If I try installing the driver by searching windows update it fails.

The hardware ID is bthenum\{0000110b-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb}_localmfg&0002

I have installed all the latest drivers for my laptop from the dell site.

What am I missing?

Alienware 15 R3 Screen fades out when not using, then hibernates.

Screen fades when not using, then hibernates. I have set the power settings in Windows and Alien Fushion. I noticed this was happening when I was downloading some games. When this happened it stopped the downloads, and I would have to tap the power switch to bring it back from hibernating. Then resume downloading. What am I missing here.

Latitude 7470 7270 BIOS 1.11.3 and up failing CCTK commands

We are unable to run our standard CCTK commands with BIOS 1.11.3 and up. BIOS 1.10.4 works fine. Some command examples that no longer work are below. These errors occur whether or not HAPI is installed.  The amount of BIOS issues these models are having is ridiculous.

cctk.exe --wakeonlan=enable

The option 'wakeonlan' is not available or cannot be configured
through this tool.

cctk.exe --powerwarn=disable

The option 'powerwarn' is not available or cannot be configured
through this tool.

(Almost) bricked XPS 13 [9343] after failed Windows 10 reset, how to fix?

I was going to sell my Dell XPS 9343 and followed Windows 10 system reset instruction. Unfortunately, system reset failed and, after reboot, it said something about clearing TPM and hitting F12 to clear it. After I hit F12, none of the boot procedures works: hitting F2 while Dell logo is shown doesn't open UEFI BIOS and F12 doesn't show the boot menu.
Since my laptop was built before December 2015, the BIOS Recovery 2 procedure, www.dell.com/.../en, doesn't work.

The current state: on powering the laptop, Windows doesn't boot and BIOS is inaccessible. The screen is black, but the touchpad and BT mouse move the white cursor. If I connect an external monitor, the cursor can be moved between the screen and monitor.

Can BIOS of this laptop be restored? I can then format its SSD and install Windows 10 from Microsoft MSDN ISO myself (I've done this many times).

Flashing Power-status light bar

Hi,

I have an Inspiron 15 7000 series 7559. I having an issue with the power-status light bar just below the trackpad. The light is flashing erratically instead of staying a solid white and I would like to stop it from doing so.

Brand New Dell Problems Starting Up (ePSA)

I received a brand new Dell 2-in-1 laptop for Christmas and I have tried calling customer support but each time, I get someone with a really thick accent and it's just too difficult to work with. 

Here is the problem, as soon as I turn on the laptop, I get a loud noise and there are vertical colored bars and a question asking if I see any colored bars. I click yes and it takes me to the ePSA page where it tests everything after 10-15mins and it tells me everything is fine. Laptop loads up fine but I have no volume, it's muted. I cannot change the volume and, also, I cannot change the screen brightness. 

I turn off the laptop and then when I turn it on again, the exact same thing repeats itself with the colored bars, to the ePSA screen, and then it loads up fine but without volume nor the ability to adjust screen brightness....any clues?

Hey,

As far as I know the 1558 series was issued with several different mobo types. I own one of these laptops and I would like to buy a new motherboard for it. Are these different motherboards interchangebles, or I have to look for the same type I had. If they are which one is the better?

Vpro Configuration For Dell Latitude 7275

Hi,

I'm trying to setup the Dell Latitude 7275 Tablet with Vpro. As a test. I been configuring it manually as
 I done it many times on other Dell desktops or laptops successfully.

However, with the Dell Latitude 7275 Tablet I'm not even been able to use the web browser to connect to it when I configure it the same way I done it in the past.

As far as I know the Vpro configuration I did for this Tablet seem to be the same as other Dell devices I done in the past, but perhaps for this tablet I'm maybe missing something.

I was wondering if you could point me in the right person or direction to get this Vpro tablet working. At least manually.

I tried Dell support. I was passed on to different people but they were not able to help. I looked online and there seem to be no information at all. Perhaps because this is a new device.

Poor Customer Service Resulting in a Lost Customer

I have been a Dell user for many decades.  For decades, I have bought Dell computers and even Dell cash registers.  Tech support has always been a problem, but the machines haven't fairly maintenance free. So I haven't needed to use tech support much. 

A week ago I ordered a new XPS as my current one is 5 years old and has a few problems.  So I went to the Dell website, opened my longstanding account and ordered a new XPS loaded with options.  I received an email giving me my purchase ID, and I thought I was good.  But my purchase never generated an order number.  

A few days later, I checked the order status only to find no order number.  So I inquired using the Purchase ID number and received a message that my order had problems and instructed me to call a number.  So I did. 

After waiting on hold for a long time someone answered.  I gave her all my particulars and explained the problem.  She then transferred me to another person and I again explained all my particulars and the problem once again.  He then told me I needed to talk to someone else and promptly transferred me back to the answering machine.  So after repeating all the routing questions again, and again waiting for a person to answer,  a person finally answered, and I gave all my particulars and explained my problem again.  That person again explained Dell's processes and transferred me to someone else in "Order Fulfillment".   When the order fulfillment person answered the phone, I again had to explain all my particulars and the problem.  The order fulfillment person then explained Dell procedures and processes to me and told me my order didn't have a customer number and therefore couldn't be processed.  I explained I have been a Dell customer for decades, as recently as a few years ago I had a Dell customer number.  So I told her to fix the order or cancel the order and she canceled. the order. 

And that my friends is why I'm no longer a Dell customer.  I'm purchasing an Apple MacBook Pro for the first time in my life.  Dell has always had *** poor customer service.  But they build pretty good boxes.  Not one in that morass did anyone apologize.  I wanted to buy a Dell computer.  I didn't and don't  want to work for Dell. I don't want to learn Dell's internal processes and become a source of free labor.  I just wanted to buy a laptop. 

As a longstanding Dell customer I just wanted to make my experience known to Dell management and hope they do something with it to improve their business.  I've used dell machines in my professional life, businesses, and personal affairs.  I hope someone in management reads this, and hopefully fix the problem.

Dell XPS 13 9350 - SSD via USB-C 3.1 connected - slow read and write speed

I have had a SSD (Samsung EVO 850) which I have put into this case -  Satechi Type-C Aluminum HDD / SSD Enclosure - which should support up to 10 Gbit/s. I have connected it via usb-c, but the speed is just up to 40 MB/s...all my drivers and the bios is up to date.

Do you have any ideas, what I could do?

Stupid to pre-order an XPS 15 9560 laptop?

So I pre-ordered an XPS 15 9560 laptop, top of the line model for about $2500, plus 4 year warranty.  Am I totally crazy for doing it?  Maybe I should wait until it's been out a while.

What's this I hear with problems with the space bar on these laptops?

XPS 15 9550 - No Car Charger Available?

I've ordered a car charger for my 9550 twice from Dell and both times received one that does not work with my machine.

The plug for both chargers was too big for the 9550.

I'm guessing that the thinner design needs a smaller plug.

No list of compatible laptops for car chargers includes the 9550.

I asked Dell chat people for one that was compatible, but they recommend incompatible units.

I'm surprised that a laptop thats been out for over a year, does not have a car charger available.

Anyone know of a compatible car charger for a 9550?
