Default Paging size in my new Dell Signature set to low?
I have a brand new dell 15 i5559 3333 SLV dell signature edition. I was trying to speed it up and one of the suggestions was to customize paging size. While going thro System Properties under virtual memory for this 8 GB RAM laptop, why is the paging size set to so low?
Here is what I see:
Minimum Allowed :16 MB
Recommended: 1906 MB
Currently Allocated: 1920 MB
If I have to customize, what would be any guru's suggestion on:
Initial Size
Maximum Size

Dell xps L502x battery manufactured with date 2014 will have same capacity in 2017
I am going to buy new dell xps laptop for my Dell xps L502x early 2011 15 inch laptop which came with 6 cell battery.
I want to know if dell supports 9 cell battery in my laptop
And should I buy batteries manufactured in 2014
Does dell stoped manufacturing the battery for this model. I would prefer 2016 manufactured battery

Question about specifications of Inspiron 15 5567
Hello,
I'm thinking of buying the new Inspiron 15 5567 (265gb ssd 8gb mem) in the Netherlands.
I'm trying to find out what the specifications of the screen and ssd are.
Screen: is it Edge-lit, direct-led or full led and is it a TN or IPS panel.
Also can't seem to find if the ssd is a m.2 or a Sata one.
I'm hoping some one here knows.

Dell's Downward Spiral
Never again, Dell!
This is the second of2 computers Dell has shipped defective.
The first they refused to admit to, though at least hundreds of others all had the same thing happen to them.
Finally, after a year a customer developed a work around. Still no admission, no apology, and no compensation.
Though my wife said do Not buy another Dell, I thought I would give Dell one more chance. Yes, of course she
was right. The new Inspiron15 laptop arrived defective. After 4 hours of work I decided enough. Any quality control would have picked it up.
Seeing it's money Dell cares about and NOT customers I am done. I returned the machine. And Dell said they would keep my money for 30 days AFTER receiving the order back into Dell's hands. Like I have another$1,000
sitting around with which to buy a replacement.
Calls didn't matter. Emails didn't matter. Threats of lawsuits didn't matter.
Never again, Dell.
Not me. Not us.

Dell XPS 13 won't turn on without a hard reset first
A bit strange but as of yesterday, whenever I turn off my Dell XPS 13 laptop and then go to turn it back on, nothing happens. All the lights are off and it doesn't turn on. If the charger is plugged in then the status LED at the front of the laptop is on, but still nothing happens (and yes it is fully charged).
However, if I hold the power button down for 10 seconds, then release, then try turning it on, it does work properly.
Any thoughts?

XPS 9550 BIOS system password problem
This isn't you're typical lost password and can't access the system problem, this is quite the opposite. From my understanding a bios system password should ask for a password on each system boot/restart, however I have been prompted once after setting the password but never since.
If I enter BIOS setup then it will again ask me for the password but again afterwards will not ask me again. I have updated to the latest BIOS, please help!

I have a Latitude 6420 running Win 10. I need a new battery. Do I really need to get the $140 one from Dell? It's a circus out there battery-wise. Any recommendations for a 9 cell one from a third party source?

New Inspiron 11 3000 series
Hi Guys. UK based owner from yesterday. I have the above laptop and this being the first I've owned (always had PC's) I hope you won't mind me throwing questions out there. The model (D2XH6) I have was advertised with the specs of 2GB RAM and 32GB eMMC, 11.6" screen.
I began the quick start and went through the booklet procedure. No problems; prompted to register with Dell etc and let the machine do the rest. Teething problems with the finger slide mouse thing but found out where to press eventually. I checked the drive as I was curious about the storage. It shows that I have 10.8gb free of 28.0gb. I had expected to have a reduced storage as I know there are programmes pre-installed but, all the way down from an advertised 32gb to 10.8gb seems a bit harsh. Am I reading this correctly?
2. As with my Dell desktop PC I had expected to be able to put my most visited and favourite sites on the desktop. Thought I could do this by click, hold and slide, as I do with my 7" screen Tesco Hudl.
Can't get any of the website icons ie. BBC news, local sport club, Orange email, Yahoo, Spotify etc. to appear on the laptop desktop.
also missing dropdown boxes when I want to highlight to cut and paste.
Not deeply techie questions as I'm not deeply techie so nice simple answers please. Here's hoping.

One day, I press the button of power and It start with this infinity loop noise.
I try to open It And clean, look the cable of LCD, try to reset the cmos battery for the wrong BIOS settings, try to press "D" to look the color rgb monitor...Nothing, the monitor doesn't change state. Hdmi cable with another monitor doesn't work. What do you suggest for me? Do you think i must change GPU?

8 Beeps on startup and black screen
When I try to start up laptop, a series of 8 beeps is heard and repeats until I press the power button again. I don't have access to an external monitor - what can I try to fix this issue?

Dell Inspiron 1100 gust mode won't load and can't reset to factory setings
I got a dell inspeiron 1100 from a friend and it has a password and username that we don't know so I put a hard drive from another dell and I turned it on and it started to boot and then the blue screen of death showed so I put the original hard drive in and it still had the password and guest mode still won't load so how do I reset it to the factory default settings if it is hard I will not do it because it needs a new keyboard the os is joli os 1.2

If anyone had already the same problem. Just started to use a new Inspiron 11 3500 with WIN10.
All settings seems to be correct (autorotate allowed) even by turning the lid the message shown, but screen not turns.

Used a universal charger and now Dell charger isn't working
Hello all!
During the holidays recently, I accidentally left my Dell charger at a family member's home so while it was being shipped down, I ran out and bought a universal charger to hold me over for a couple days of work until my original charger arrived. While using the universal charger, it worked when I was plugged into the wall, but was not charging the battery at all (I.e. Would die when I unplugged it). I've read some articles that Dell restricts third party chargers, so I understand that may have been the issue. Well, my Dell charger finally arrived and it is now having the same issue where it's not charging. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Did using the universal charger change some sort of setting? Or did it actually damage the motherboard?

Inspiron 11 3153 Intel Management Engine Driver 11 won't wake up
Hi guys I'm not much of a computer guy so please excuse my ignorance.
Ever since new my dell laptop works fine other than it will intermittently not wake up from sleep, and sometimes the mouse won't work and I have to turn it off then back on again which is really frustrating. I never know which buttons or sequence actually do the trick, it just generally doesn't work.
I did some searching and everyone is saying to roll back to intel 9.5 Managment engine but I can't because my computer "doesn't meet the minimum requirement". It's the exact same problem detailed here:
Does anyone know what to do?

XPS 15 9550 & Samsung 950 Pro
Present system runs with BIOS vers. 1.2.16, a Li-Ion 6 cell 84 Wh battery and an original SSD PM951 drive already installed under Windows 10 in RAID mode.
Question, is it technically feasible to add to above system a Samsung 950 Pro, by just changing the boot order, where 950 Pro becomes the boot device, load Windows 10 onto the 950 Pro and recharge the 950 Pro drive with an Acronis PM951 system image?
What has to be observed and will my system just incorporate all those changes automatically and also what the Windows 10 licence is concerned?

My computer was acting slow so i decided why not reset it to make it go faster i didnt care since i didnt have important flies on it, i started to reset it and it said it couldnt be reset for some reason, then i tried to reset it again nd it didnt work i decided to give up at that point, i shut my computer down and turned it back on and the dell logo showed up but that was all it didnt go to windows or anything, i shut it down again and same thing it showed the dell then went to a blank screen sometimes a dell suport thing would show up but that didnt help much at all, please help!
Ps: i forgot to mention earlier but i was getting some wierd error message plus it was being very slow.
