I haven't used my DELL XPS tablet since late 2013. Brought it out recently and tried charging the battery. After 3 days charging pressing the power button only produced many vertical lines but no windows screen. Did the Vol+/power button recovery procedure many times..still no windows or recovery window. What now?

Which dock should I get for the Latitude E6540?
I'd like more USB ports and the ability to undock quickly without messing with the power cable, but when I search for a dock on Dell's site, a bunch come up under my laptop's model number, many look similar and they have varying costs, but I'm not sure which is the most-used or most-recommended.
Any advice?

What to do following installing a new hard drive?

After installing a brand new empty hard drive, per Dell diagnostics advice, I loaded my recovery discs, then restarted lap top per disc instructions. Screen doesn't go beyond Dell logo @ approx 75%.. ive read about reinstalling devices drivers and applications, yet am not understanding this. If I have a backup of my lap top on an external hard drive, would that contain the necessary drivers? I am tech challenged. Any detailed advice/instructions is appreciated.

My girl friend bought a new Inspiration as described above on the subject line. She is asking me how to turn on the backlit keyboard. So I'm asking here. Is it even possible? I should think that all modern laptop computers should have this feature. Does any one know?

DELL XPS 12 not working HELP!!!
Everything was working a couple days ago, now my touchpad doesn't work. It still works in the BIOS diagnostics but not in Windows 10 or Windows 8. I tried Windows 7 and the touchpad instantly starts working but whenever I switch back to Windows 8 or 10 it stops again.
Can someone link me to restore media or any links which could help?? Maybe I need a certain driver?

DELL XPS 13 9343
I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place but, Im desperately in need of help.
Just earlier my dell XPS 13 froze on the dell boot screen with the loading circle stopped. I'm not sure what to do because I can't remove the battery to restart it. I've tried holding down the power button but no luck.
Is there a way to hard restart the laptop that I don't know about? This is really frustrating, anyone have any clues or a solution?

Vostro 3560 USB Ports Not Connecting Devices

I am experiencing issues updating my Vostro 3560 to Windows 10. When connecting a USB device, like a flash drive, the computer will properly connect the device. The device appears in the device manager, it can even identify the brand, but the device manager states that the drivers are not installed.
I have gone to the Dell website and used the tool to detect and install driver updates. The tool will attempt to install a driver, Intel Management Engine Interface Driver. The tool says it installed, but subsequent checks show the driver as needing to be installed.
Any help is appreciated. Is the Intel Management Engine Interface Driver the driver the that properly operates the USB hardware? I have tried deleting the driver entirely and installing but have the same results.

Dell Inspiron Laptop 1501 will not boot up to run Vista
Hello. I'm hoping for some insight with my problem computer besides buying a new one at this time. It is a Dell Laptop Inspiron model 1501. A number of posts have mentioned similar problems to mine, but each situation is different. I bought this one as a 'refurbished' model thru Dell, and it has always had unexplained instability issues and rebooting itself after locking up with the screen. Aside from this, it has been a good machine.
A year or so ago, I bought an after market battery. Everything was fine up until recently. At start up I would see a message stating: "Warning: Battery cannot be identified. The system will be unable to charge this battery. Press any key to continue." I was ignoring these messages. Windows Vista eventually would not boot up successfully. I would select to 'run windows normally' rather than 'start up repair'. So now after booting windows in 'normal' mode, several days the computer fails to boot Windows Vista at all. I can get past the Dell logo and a POST at start up. I pressed F12 and did the Diagnostics. At one point an error code was received soon after that read:
Error Code 0221, Message Error Code 2000-0221, MSG: Chipset Interval Timer Failed!
Another diagnostic test did not produce any errors.
I need to mention at this point that I have taken out the battery and set it aside thinking that this may allow me to get the operating system back up and running without the battery creating a problem, if it is a problem at all.
I can get to a screen to do "Start Up Repair", but it asks some questions that I have not seen in the past. The first of which is to select a language for the keyboard. After this screen I am presented with a dialog box named "System Recovery Options". The text reads "Select an operating system to repair and click next. Only Windows Vista operating systems are listed and can be repaired'. And further below: "If you do not see your operating system listed, click load drivers to load drivers for your hard disks." If I click "Load Drivers" another dialog box appears with "system 32" named. If I click on the folder with the name "Driver" there is nothing seen in these folders.
I was able to resurrect another dead computer of mine. I hope with some expert insight from others within this forum I might be able to at least retrieve my files off of this laptop.

Beeping Problem
I've seen a lot of stuff about this of other people having this problem but, mine is always different. My laptop will beep on start up and shut down. Once it's on it works fine but, the beeping is loud, annoying, and it sounds like something's wrong and I don't know what. Could someone help?

Alienware 15 r3 light bleed
Ok so I have the over heating issue with my laptop and also have the light bleed issue. I have a replacement on order and want to know if I will be getting the same screen with it with same issue. From what I can see is it is the same ips panel. Should I just have asked for a refund and bought a different laptop. I do not like the light bleed at all. My guess is they should have upgraded my display to the g-sync panel.

Red cross on wifi sign Dell Inspiron n5110.
My Dell Inspiron N5110 is showing red cross on the Wifi icon in the taskbar. On clicking troubleshoot,it is showing an alert not able to find network adapter. But i have installed all wifi drivers from dell official site by entering service tag. I am not able to solve this problem,wifi still not working !

Dell Precision M6600 fan error
I have a dell M6600 which gives me error code 2000-0511 validation code changes by the day a think. i have a 69837 and 69943. i have downgraded the bios and upgraded it again. update ME nothing worked somethimes it workes normal but most of the time the GPU blower runs very fast.

Dell Latitude e7440 battery problem!
Hello guys, i've got a huge problem with my Dell Latitude e7440. Battery is not charging. When i took the battery out and put official Dell cable in - nothing, it's not even turning on. The screen is all black
It's interesting, because few days ago I replaced my old not-working keyboard with a new official one. Everything was fine for 3days and then this happened.

New XPS13, (9360), Unable to do a clean install
Hi, all. Bought a new Dell XPS13, (9360). Wanting to start with a clean machine, I'm trying to wipe the drive and install Windows 10 from a USB. But I am receiving an error message each time I try: A media driver your computer needs is missing. When I get to the window that asks "Which type of installation do you want?" I select Custom, and when it proceeds to the next page, "Where do you want to install Windows?", the message appears "We couldn't find any drives. To get a storage driver, click Load driver." Then, when I do that the next page says to insert the installation media containing the driver. If it helps, I also tried using another USB drive, (one is a 3.0, the other is a 2.0), and tried in both USB ports on the laptop. Also shut off Secure Boot option in the BIOS. Same results. . .keeps asking for the storage driver.
I'm stumped. I did this last year with another new XPS13, (9350), and it was fast and easy. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thank you.

Latitude E5410 A10 BIOS?
I was given a Latitude E5410 for Christmas, and while setting it up, I noticed it had a very old A04 bios. I went to the drivers website to update it to the latest, which showed as A16. I downloaded and tried to apply that bios and was told I had to apply A10 first. I went looking for A10 either thru the actual page for the units service tag and just a generic E5410, and the oldest bios I could find was A11. A11 gave the same error as A16. Where can get an A10 bios package for an E5410??

Latitude 3550 upgrade windows 10 and no internet connection
I upgraded to windows 10 and now I have no wifi or ethernet connections. When I type IPCONFIG at the command prompt I get "Windows IP Configuration." I see the apdapters under the device manager but no connections can be made.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Blank screen on dell vostro 2520
Hello,
I have a Dell vostro 2520 and it does not show any info about starting up on the screen although it makes the startup sound. I have also tried connecting an hdmi cable to an external monitor still no use. Have run the dell PSA as well, it makes the sounds but no display.
