Most of the text messages (SMS) that I receive have a scrambled text. I am using the latest version of Skylight and the latest drivers (7.24.4518.504) available for DW5811e. What could be the problem and how can I solve it?

I have a new Latitude E7470, and I upgraded to BIOS version 1.11.3. I am no longer able to use the laptop with the ePort Plus II docking station. The symptoms are strange ; e.g. the power adapter light goes out as soon as I dock the laptop. Plugging the power adapter into the laptop allows it to work for a while. However, the laptop randomly shuts down. I backed off to BIOS version 1.10.4, and the problems went away.
My dell xps 15 9550 was purchased with a 3yr extended warranty. After getting an email offering to sell an extended warranty, I checked the dell warranty status. Sure enough, no extended warranty appears. Is this a system problem or do I need to do something.

We have been seeing some throttling issues on our 7370s. What we see is that suddenly, the laptop starts to crawl, almost unusable. The CPU throttles around 0.3 Ghz. Haven't seen anything out there yet. We are looking at security software,power setting, drivers and add ins, but wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing the same
I am looking at upgrading one of my old Dell Latitudes, it's an D830. My son needs this laptop for school, and it needs about a 6 hour battery span. This laptop, however, only gets about 45 mins on average, and he can't plug it in at school. This laptop I found was perfect for him because it was rugged. I remember awhile ago I bought a secondary laptop battery for this computer (an older one, not the same model) and it installed through the CD slot. Same thing, as I have found for this computer. So, my question. Where is the best resource to purchase one of these batteries?

Hi all i've recieve my laptop almost 3 weeks ago and i've a big problem with my ethernet card KILLER e8400. Simply when i put my lan in it dont work, trying to connect but after some seconds the yellow triangle goes away and the computer is not able to connect.
The lan is working well with other laptops same cable, i've try replacing the drivers with some from alienware download page and also with killer drivers itself. i've also tryed to format and restart from a clean version but nothing worked.
Installing killer driver downloaded from their site has done some help letting me connect with the lan but after some times the connection where not that stable and tonight i've another time the issue.
What can i try??
Ok just received another Inspiron, it booted fine added it to the domain, machine would crash and reboot. Thinking it was a fluke, tried again several times and it would crash. On another Inspiron where I upgraded to 10 pro, I had a similar issue and found out if I disabled the onboard Wi-Fi adaptor and used a USB Wi-Fi it was solid. Also did not have any issues with it when it was connected to RJ45 cable.
So less than 2 hours out of the box, I'm running the dell diagnostics Estimated time left 3 hours and 22 mins.
I was able to disable the onboard wi-fi seemed to be stable with RJ45 connection, but in the last 30 mins, I could not get the machine to stay up more than 10 mins.
Oh the machine was shipped and purchased from dell.com. Looking for answers...

Hi I have seen a post already discussing this from January 2016.
My hard drive is 28GB and only has 1.30GB free space.
I have now removed every file off of my laptop and any extra programmes. I have 2305MB of programmes (from what I have calculated).
I've tried hovering over every folder under 'This PC' to see if any of them are ridiculously large but none are over 2GB.
I've done a disk cleanup (which gave about 230MB) and optimize/defragment drive but no change.
I'm wondering if things I delete are not being completely cleared properly - nothing in 'recycle bin' currently.
Any help would be great. If I don't even have space for MS Word docs then I may as well get rid of this thing!

while working in an operating systems project about writing bootloaders and kernels to USB flash memory.
I used a program to write the bootloader.bin to the first sector of the USB.
Un-intentionally I wrote the boot.bin to my HDD after reboot the following message appears
(I'm not sure 100% if that happens but I put a guess) :
PXE-MOF: exiting pxe rom no bootable device dell
I don't want to re-install or re-format a new operating system
I want a solution to recover the bootloader and resume my installed operating system normally.
My Laptop : DELL Inspiron 5520 - Running windows 10 - and containing VM Virtual box also I enabled the virtualisation in the BIOS setup.
Note:
1-I tried to change some settings in the BIOS Setup but hopeless
2-I tried to re-seat the hard-disk once and didn't try again (not solving the problem also).
Hello I'm having issues with my touchscreen.Sometimes it's sporadic when touched, sometimes unresponsive, and sometimes flickers. Tech support keeps making me send in for repair but when it comes back I have same issues.Sent to tech support 6 times within six months already, replaced screen, replaced motherboard, update bios, and update drivers and a whole bunch of other tech support stuff. Does anyone have similar problems can share your experiences and fixes? At this rate tech support is going to keep doing the same thing until one year warranty expires. What are my options in regards to warranty if tech support is unable to fix defect issues?Thank you in advance for advice.
I see that trackpad problems are common to Dell laptops. I have read the forums here and other places that have suggested different driver fixes. The only thing I have found that works is to uninstall the driver completely and not reinstall anything. However, this works until I reboot the machine, and then the driver gets installed again and it is back to problems.
Is there anything out there that works?
I made a few changes to the bios, including setting a bios and admin password. now when I boot into windows 10, after entering my password, it goes straight to dell support assist. this happens every time on boot up, and now I can't boot into windows.
My Inspiron 17R 7720 SE has a display screen issue. From time to time there will be a horizontal grey bar around 1/4" tall that will roll from the bottom up to the top of the display and then disappear. At other times the display will cut to a grey/white blank screen that kind of "vibrates" between medium grey/white and light grey/white. This glitch may happen randomly or if the computer is moved or jarred. If I shut the lid or press the power button to hibernate the computer for a minute or so and then wake the computer up, it will resume with a proper display exactly where I left off. It may run a couple of minutes and repeat the glitch, or it may run the rest of the day until I shut it down without a problem.
I ran the F12 startup diagnostic routine which indicated the display adapter was performing normally, so I'm guessing/hoping this glitch is a display screen issue and not a display adapter issue. Has anyone else encountered this issue and identified the problem? Are there any more diagnostics I can run to isolate if this is a display screen or display adapter issue?
My Latitude 7350 shows the battery percentage as:
Battery 1 39% and in use
Battery 2 100%
And the overall percentage shows 90%. How can this be possible? Since Battery 1 (under the keyboard) has only 39% left, the overall percentage should be much lower than 90%. Something is wrong. Can someone help me? Thank you.
So, my ultimate goal is to connect a Firewire 800 device (medical instrument) via thunderbolt. I got my hands on two Apple thunderbolt adapters, first a TB 3 to TB 2, and then a TB 2 to Firewire 800.
When I connect the TB 3 to TB 2, Windows says "Try improving the USB connection" and it links me to this page. Opening the thunderbolt software shows no connected devices. I have the latest drivers that I am aware of, software package version 16.1.47.275. I have BIOS version 1.4.10. I have disabled the thunderbolt security in BIOS and enabled the boot related thunderbolt options.
What else can I do? Thankful for help!

I currently have 1 8GB memory module and an empty module. What is the maximum memory this system can take in each slot?
Also, does anyone have experience in replacing the HDD with a SSD? If so, can you please recommend what kind of SSD I should go for.

Talk about confusing. I looked at the latest BIOS update documentation and this is what it says:

The installation took forever but it worked fine ... but ... the reboot fails. I have a black screen. Probably an UEFI issue! No boot menu! No Dell Logo! I am lost...
Hi All, just received an Inspiron 15 5000 series model 5567 with TouchScreen and Windows 10 pro. I have found that when the right button on the touchpad is used no context menu is displayed regardless of what application or desktop is active. The driver installed is a generic PS2 driver and not the synaptics driver I am use to seeing with Dell. It only allows definition of what button is the primary button. You cannot change anything such as what button does what or the touch areas or sensitivity.
But as I say my biggest concern is that the context menus will not display with the right touchpad button. The right button behaves the same as the left button on the touchpad.
This is a brand new dell and out of the box the touchpad functionality is questionable. Does anyone have a solution for this? Is a synaptics driver/software missing?
